  1. Source This is kind of worrying tbh. I'm a huge fan of their single player games. The lead producer Leslie Benzies got fired not too long ago. I wouldn't like to see their games go to annual/semi-annual garbage rushed out as quickly as possible. Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser were pretty infamous for being perfectionists and want to make the best possible games. I wouldn't be surprised if Dan leaving is to do with Take Two being very money hungry and forcing him to monetized things he doesn't want monetized as well as them trying to force Rockstar to release games more often. The last game Rockstar released before RDR2 (2018) was GTA V in 2013. Complaints from Rockstar employees being overworked while not only releasing 3 games in total in the last decade just shows how much work they do put into making their games.
  2. I'd just go with some CCTV tbh. I don't trust any security system that connects to the internet. You won't have the benefit of being able to see what the camera can see from your phone/computer while you're not in, but still I wouldn't trust them. If it's connected to the internet, then it can be hacked into remotely.
  3. Yeah, graphics have always sold better than frame rate as it's much easier to show better graphics than better frame rate. So I do understand why a lot of developers would prefer 30fps with better visuals than 60fps with slightly worse visuals.
  4. Got some new wheels. Fronts don't fit because the brakes are way too big, will have to get spacers. Didn't have time to see if they'll fit on the rear but I'm 99% sure they won't be a problem. Yeah, it's hard to believe it's 25 years old.
  5. Source Too bad the developers don't agree. The only games I can really think of that are 60fps on the Xbox One are first party games.
  6. Forgot to post this here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet: https://extremehw.net/forum/off-topic/general-ac/3821-1995-lexus-ls400-fix-log
  7. Last update until the start of March hopefully. I just put the one in for now because I wanted to test ride height and stiffness of the spring as I did go stiffer than stock. Stock was really soft and floaty, I wanted something that felt a bit more solid. Stiffness by my estimate is about 20% more than stock which is exactly what I wanted so that's good. The other reason why I put just the one in for now is because I'll have to take them apart in the near future anyway. It has the factory (1995) bushings still, I can take chunks off using my fingernails which is a serious safety hazard and I'm pretty sure would be an automatic MOT failure. Anyway, here's pics + interior pics that I never really got before. With the exception of the driver seat and climate control LCD, I've not seen an interior that's in as good condition as mine with the exception of one that I saw that was basically bought brand new, driven to storage and left there until a couple of years ago when they sold it.
  8. I think getting SLI to work in RDR2 is hit or miss. I've heard some people say they got it working no issues, and others saying it doesn't work at all no matter what they do. SLI is pretty much dead imo. It's been slowing dying for a few years now, we have single graphics card GPUs these days that are more than good enough for 1440p 120Hz/4K 60fps in pretty much any game.
  9. Long post because of images: Day 2: The front brake calliper with a broken iPhone 6 for scale. Note: I've seen supercars with smaller front callipers than this. Also got the broken coilover out. You vs the guy she tells you not to worry about Slightly annoyed because the new one didn't align properly without needing my persuasion tool. Then me realizing it's too long because it was set to the max ride height, I had to take it half out again to lower it Then the final two pictures, one at the top mounting point and the final (sort of) thing I'm having trouble getting the upper wishbone back in. One side is half way in but it somehow got stuck. I can't be bothered to deal with it now so I'll probably sort it out tomorrow. At least I can say My Summer Car has taught me everything I know about doing this sort of thing. Mostly just doing a terrible job and being able to swear in fluent Finnish.
  10. All the work I've been able to do today along with pictures of the other coilovers...
  11. Yeah it is or rather was. I don't have a garage, even if I did, it would be too small to reasonably do work in. There are some rental garages down the road from me but they're those ones that are 4.9x2.4m. My car is 5x2m leaving literally less than no room lengthways and about 20cm either side which isn't even enough to open the doors to get in and out of the car. Also they get broken into a lot and have things stolen from them.
  12. A few months ago, I paid someone to sort out the area around my car, it would have taken them 10-15 minutes to do it, but "I'll do it later" except it's later now and it hasn't been done so I had to do it. Because of that, taking the wheels off (which should have taken me 15 minutes at most) ended up taking me 2 hours to do because I had to clean all the stuff around the car and dig underneath it a little bit so I could get the jack underneath to lift it up. Anyway, this is the reason why I needed to change the suspension with a reference pic of what it's supposed to look like As you can see, the coils of the spring are not supposed to be touching each other. It is actually slightly worrying because it does look like there's tension it in. Not as much as there should be, but there's probably at least a couple hundred kg of tension. Enough to kill someone if it explodes and hits them in the face. Also as soon as I get to the good bits of the work, it starts raining. It wasn't supposed to start raining until 15:00. It actually started raining at 12:30.
  13. I'm making a log for this because why not. It's going to be the slowest log of all time. It does need a lot of work, starting off with replacing the suspension because the FR suspension collapsed due to corrosion and the RR looks like it's about to do the same. It has been sitting for quite a long time now so it will need a lot more than that replaced. I'm going to replace the brakes, engine mounts, suspension bushings, all fluids changed, fuel pump cleaned/replaced, spark plugs replaced, belts replaced and probably much more that I don't know about yet.
  14. It's a game where you design, "engineer" and "build" cars including the engine anytime between the year 1946 and 2020. It's currently in development, so there's no real career mode just yet. There hasn't been an update in a few months other than a hotfix so I'm hoping we're going to get the forced induction update very soon. They have been promising that for the last 4 years. Current forced induction is just turbos that's realistic to the real world 1980s turbo technology. Here's a good video showing a build from start to finish: EDIT: lol 5 minutes after making this post, the developers uploaded an update video of what's coming very soon and it is getting the forced induction overhaul in the next week.
  15. I made another car in Automation. 1989 sport coupe with 250hp and 340Nm out of a 2.8L fuel injection turbo I5. Only weighing 1239kg, it gets from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 245km/h all while getting 30mpg city, 38mpg highway. Only for $15,425 ($31,995 adjusted for inflation)
  16. It actually does do DX12 on Windows 7/8/8.1. When I was looking through the files for it on the day it released, it does install "12on7" by default which is the Microsoft official fix (if you can call it that) to get DX12 programs to work on 7, 8 and 8.1.
  17. Not a screenshot, but Dirt Rally 2.0 in VR I messed up the hairpin pretty badly and did mis-shift a couple of times, but Finland is still the best country for this. Australia coming in at a close second.
