The reviews have been interesting. Seems like intel in onto something, but their drivers are far far away from being good enough. It's interesting to seem them occasionally smashing rt benchmarks and then losing hard in stuff like csgo.

Do you have any suggestions on retro emulator handhelds? I've been eyeing the RG300 V3, but I guess it's out of date now.

FF9 is probably my favorite FF game, and I really enjoyed it. I played it with the moguri mod, which is a mod that used AI to upscale all the backgrounds so it doesn't looks like a pixelated mess on a modern screen. As for FFX, I can see why anyone might find it a bit obnoxious. When I first played it I found it a somewhat obnoxious back then so I totally get that, but it was also a super impressive PS2 game at the time and even thought it was annoying at times, the character animation and detail with fully voiced acting was well above any beyond what had been seen in any other game up to that point. It stood out on a technical level, and was otherwise a very solid FF game as far as gameplay. I think it gets less obnoxious towards the end of the game and I think a lot of the annoyances could have to do with it being translated from Japanese. As far was mods, I just used a simple texture upscaling mod and that was it. If I do get a phone controller for emulators, I'll probably play Crash Bandicoot and FF7.

Just some numbers: The 3900x is selling for ~$220 used. You could expect to make ~$180 after ebay fees/tax. The 5900x is selling for $310 used (before tax), so the upgrade would cost you about $140. The 1080Ti is selling for about $180 used on ebay, and a 3070 is going for about $350, which is by far the best "bang for your buck" you can get right now. 3080Ti is still going for just over $600 used. If I were you, I would sell my 1080Ti(s) and get a used 3070, or if you care more about 4K than ray tracing, you might lean towards an RX6800 or an RX6800XT since they have 16GBvram and won't be strapped for memory at 4K, though situationally the chances for that extra vram to really make a difference are very rare, but they are cheaper than a 3080Ti and have more vram. If you sold both your 1080Ti GPUs and bought a 3070, you would be just about breaking even and getting a huge performance boost in anything that doesn't scale incredibly well in SLI. If you upgraded your CPU, at 4K you would not notice at all. If its for gaming, no. I went from a 3700x to a 5800x and I cannot tell the difference at all for games. I don't think going from ryzen 3000 to 5000 just for the ipc is worth it at all.

I can't imagine there are very many old people who put their retirement into crypto, and if they had an investment plan that included crypto by default, it was probably a very small percentage of their portfolio. The vast majority of people thinking about their retirement plan have no idea what crypto is, so they just ignore it, and perhaps for good reason since lot of them are probably old enough to have lived through a bank run or two.

GameBoy 1 was my first console, and I was a big console gamer until the PS3 era when I pretty much switched fully to PC, partly because PS3 was so expensive. I don't have any of my older consoles anymore, but I have a healthy stash of emulators and roms. I beat Final Fantasy 9 and 10 both recently on the PC versions so I could use graphics mods to upscale them, but had the PC versions not been an option, I would have played them on emulator. I have emulators on my phone and I've been thinking about getting one of those controllers that goes around the sides to make it kinda like a switch. Couple years back I played one of the old GameBoy Pokémon games on my phone on an emulator and got pretty far, don't remember if I finished it. I wish I could afford to have retro consoles physically, losing consoles for various reasons over the years, I'd have to start from scratch and that's just too much for me but massive respect to anyone who properly collects and maintains retro gaming stuff. I am the dirty freeloader version of that who just plays with emulators instead. Playing the various Super Smash Bros games with Xbox controllers has always been interesting.

I'm sure MS would be more than happy to put game pass on PlayStation. Sony will still be a larger gaming company than Microsoft's gaming division. The EU has no case at. This whole thing is being so over-hyped by regulators and people who have probably never played a video game in their lives.

Competition is good just to help put more pressure on prices, but I don't see many people outside of China using this for obvious reasons.

Looks like AI was used to make this video, just came out. I know we already have a music thread. That one is for music you actually like and would listen to IMO, this one for stuff that's more stand out audio style and less something you would casually listen to.

When I bought my last gaming mouse, I learned that modern wireless gaming mice have the same latency as wired ones, just fyi. I got the G305. Really great for the price.
