We're allowing community-contributed prizes for this? I thought it was only going to be sponsored prizes because we didn't want to make the companies look bad by providing our own etc. or something like that.

We had over 130 participants in last year's event. We also had quite a few more sponsor prizes than we will this year. We would not be considering community contributed prizes if it was not needed.

FINAL RESULT. Congratulations to all the five participating teams in the 2024 5th BigAdv EOL Challenge. TAAT takes the top spot follow by the overclockers.com, ExtremeHW, EVGA and [H]. We contributed a total of 12% (28,777,419,685 points) of the world daily aggregate, a gradual drop from the beginning of the race due to a new crypto folding team. About 350 folders contributed to this race. Hope to see you all again next year.

Thank you for the invite, we had a ton of fun. We look forward to next year!

I wonder how my 4090 would do if I lowered the power limit to 80% and disabled my overclock. Or should I lower the power limit and keep the OC?

I've folded for over a year straight on it, but never tried seeing what my output would be with a lower power limit, and how much money it would save. Wife has complained the power bill is $200.

I may have to try this when the foldathon is over.

I'm running full bore. But even if you did PL your 4090, you would still get more PPD because you are running on Linux.

Hmmm, I am not 100% sold on the idea of another channel. The current YT Channel would suffice, all that is required is to organise it into playlists such as Review Content, Podcasts and another category to be named for user based uploads. I do not see the benefit of managing an additional channel strictly for a different category of content that relates to the same subject matter . Perhaps I am missing the point?

If pushing out our newer content on the current channel can be done than that would be a bonus. In order to inflict dopamine hits for Gen Z, we will have to adapt video content for sure. I need to bug Simmons about the podcast, we need that back

I think ehw needs a new YouTube channel separate from the podcast channel. I'm not  sure how this would work exactly as far as uploading, but if there were just a handful of interesting videos of various PC stuff, it would go a long way towards creating a presence there that might bring in a few users.

Maybe there could be a cloud storage that people could dump video files onto that could later be uploaded to an ehw channel, assuming anyone would want to donate some video content. I'd be happy to put a few in game benchmark videos or just gameplay videos up.

There are definitely some unique builds here, and a video that was something like "demanding game running on 4090 SLI" would definitely bring in some views.

This is actually a good idea. I second this opinion.

Oh man, I came in here just to give a shout-out to the their Twitter post acknowledging us:

While I have my own opinions, hopefully we can put this behind us as a learning experience and keep working together on Folding@Home as a whole and continue increasing the interest of potential new Folders with future events on either side.

I can only assume that was @leadeater's doing and is way more exposure than we were looking for. With that said, thank you for including us in your tweet. We hope to have a few of your members join us for our annual F@H compo coming this Feb. Thank you again!

As for if anyone were offended by the comment made I would say that is best to come from that person themselves, everyone sees and interprets things differently and it's actually not for you to say if they were offended or not. No community needs to have unwarranted unrested drummed up for no reason or from simple misunderstandings. If firedfly was unhappy with what was said or the way it was then we are sorry, nobody should come away from the event thinking they were not welcome or their contributions were not valued.

All that said better care will be taken in future to try and avoid such situations, it's not much extra effort to directly state how or why something was impressive and if that were done I wouldn't have to be posting here about it.

It is completely up to me to speak out when our members/staff are offended, yet do not want to come forward directly. Surely you understand defending your forum members as that is why you replied here. We wish no ill will towards your community and just wanted clarification and an apology, which was given. No harm, no foul. Thank you for posting this.

Hey there, LTT Folding Team Leader here, don't forget we have prizes, to partake in the event you need to fold for teamLTT 223518 and sign up to the event using the google form on the OP of the event thread

I think you owe @firedflyan apology. You can not ask for support for an event on your forums and say those things. It may have been all jokes, but many of us took offense to your verbiage.

  9. So, joking or not, they were very disrespectful to @firedflyand that is not something I will stand for. He produced over a billion points for their team and they had negative things to say about him. I fully expect that no one from this site participates in their events moving forward. I for one am glad I didn't.

    @ENTERPRISE

This is something you should be aware of. I have messaged GOTspectrum and reported that thread on the LTT forums.
