  1. Looked and can't find any pics of older rigs from prior to 2009/2010. Oh well. But had some early 2000's rig with some Athlon in it, initially with a Radeon 7500. Had a slighly updated one with a 9700 pro. My Dad had a P4 rig that we later put an X1650 Pro into. We had some other ones that I don't really remember what they had aside from some real crappy Nvidia FX-era mid-range or maybe even low end card. Didn't run much. Later built an E8500/9800 GT rig. And pretty sure there are more I am forgetting.
  2. Yeah so these first few I didn't really know how to properly size PSUs and way overbought. These earlier PCs were also the last time I actually tried at cable management. Since I started getting dual chamber cases like the Corsair 540 and now the O11-Dynamic, I just can't be arsed to do much more than basics. Also back then I didn't really know best practices for airflow and retrospect I would have set the intake/exhaust a little differently in the Switch 810 (looking at you bottom rad). Corsair 650D build. i7-960 and a 5770, later 2x 5770's and then a GTX 570. Initially had air cooling then tried an H100 and still wasn't satisfied: My first custom loop. CPU only loop in the 650D. Also upgraded to a GTX 670 (using a 680 PCB): From which I decided on a case change to the NZXT Switch 810 and adding the GPU to the loop: First real total new build that wasn't me upgrading onsie twosie things here and there. 4790k and 980 rig. First and last time I will ever use EK blocks, what a mess: Transferred the rig from the Corsair 540 to the O11-D because the material quality on the 540 wasn't great and the case was becoming a vibrating mess. Since it was just a transfer, this is why rads are too small. This was while I was starting to accumulate parts for current build.
  3. Fun fact, we went and saw a showing of They Live at a movie theater back in October. Was fun.
  4. Oh yeah, Zen 3 stuff is absolutely cheap at my local MC, I agree.
  5. Guess I will have to look at that more. I saw some of the X670 motherboard prices and they were already pretty ridiculous.
  6. Used sure, I'm not sure that's true for new. Depends on which price segment you are looking at I suppose.
  7. I opted for 2TB 970 Evo Plus's when I bought mine, didn't see a reason to pay double for gen 4 at the time. Are these good then, just seems to be 980's and 990's?
  8. ChatGPT is great. Every time I use it, it answers with 404 network error.
  9. Granted, but your plumbing becomes so efficient, you always have to use the restroom immediately after eating or drinking something. (you didn't specify which plumbing) I wish it was warmer.
  10. Yeah worked perfectly. I used to remember all that stuff but its been like 9 years since I've done desktop support. It seems I forgot a lot of the basics I used to do a lot, like cleaning disk partitions.
  11. Yeah my old PC was still on W8.1. When I got my 3070 in (before trading it for this) I tried to test it to make sure it worked and yeah, that was not very fun given there was no driver support.
  12. Been very happy with my S22 Ultra. My wife might replace her Note 20 Ultra with this.
  13. My Windows 11 PC uses a local account. It was a trick of not connecting to the internet during setup. I heard they were getting rid of that trick though, but I am sure there are more.
  14. Man...hey kids join in on the advertisement sing-along. Bant
  15. I joined in 2010 and it was definitely before the Huddler switch.
  16. I love these, thanks! Its been a while since I've been in Valley or Superposition, or Heaven for that matter. Thanks for reminding me of the free roam!
  17. Well if I actually had a home office, maybe I could do something cool too. Anyway it wasn't so much anything to do with socializing, most of the time I had the whole place to myself. Was more just I got out of the house, went out to lunch, or took nice walks on the days I brought my lunch (my wife always makes me awesome hot lunches) and it was great. Wife got some space for a few hours, etc. It was just healthy for both of us.
  18. Yeah my reaction too. I 100% agree with your point about mental health. COVID lockdown forcing 100% WFH for a year and a half really brought forward how much I value separating work from home physically twice a week. I came back two times a week when the office reopened in Sep 2021, but no one else did and they didn't force anyone to, so made sense why these are closing now that the lease was up.
  19. They have another office, is just not as convenient to get too, is smaller, and has only one open desk supposedly. I need to check it out. Its also not downtown either, so no walkable restaurants or other things like that, so just a worse experience.
  20. Working at the office today. Last week I can use it before they shut it down. I like getting out of the house a couple days a week so its disappointing to me that it is closing.
