  1. Yeah, I had a 1440p VA LG panel and its night and day difference. Is there a spot you can see hours used with these LG OLED's? Yeah I am a believer in OLED for sure. I could see QD-OLED or some of those other types being good as well. I for one could use something with higher brightness. But really no complaints otherwise except the auto-dimming like you say. Yeah I agree about 42". I was thinking of picking up a 42" C2 whenever they hit closeout prices when the C3's hit and then putting the C1 in the living room or my wife's office.
  2. I've found Timespy to be pretty good at figuring out when my VRAM overclocks are unstable. I've also found Unigine Superposition to be really good at figuring out clocks as its pretty consistent with scoring on repeated runs so its pretty useful for dialing in the VRAM (and core clocks) just right.
  3. I have been really happy with my 48" C1 as well. My main complaint is the auto-dimming which gets obnoxiously bad on some web pages. But otherwise, I don't hide taskbar or anything like that, similarly, no burn in, but I haven't had it for a year yet so we will see. As for the size, I find it slightly too big. I think I might feel better with a 42".
  4. Yeah at first it was kinda funny looking when they first showed the Zotac 4090's, but the design has grown on me.
  5. You have 4 of them so far. Its the "Thanks" or "Respect" reacts people can give posts. So really it just comes from participating in the forums, providing some information that helps someone, or posting some cool stuff.
  6. I agree. This is why GOG is a better platform for retro builds as you get the actual installers, then it doesn't really matter what OS you are on. I still have a Windows 8.1 Pro box in the house. I should upgrade it to Windows 10 sometime.
  7. Man this takes me back. My buddy and I used to play and we'd always impersonate the characters in voice chat. Our favorite was to be Bill grabbing stuff. "Grabbin' heroin!....I mean adrenaline."
  8. They had a Helm's Deep mod? Man I haven't played modded L4D before, looks like I am missing out.
  9. $75/hour profit for 2 hours. Seems pretty good to me. Selling locally I gather?
  10. Man sometimes I forget how massive the 4090's really are. Its funny to see the ratio of where the PCB ends and how massive the cooler is in both how many slots and length. Anyway, looks great.
  11. "We've made any profit we can off of Crypto so it's now dead to us, unless sometime in the future we can profit off of it again." - Nvidia, probably.

    Hello

Welcome to EHW! Seriously awesome to hear with the 5600X. Maybe you can give me some tips!
  13. Oh for sure. I totally agree that 4k is niche, though I imagine larger than what Steam says. That said, just not happy about $800+ cards being for 1080p and 1440p. But like you said, prices are dumb, and I can't fault AIBs for that. Nvidia sets the bottom.
  14. Not often EHW gets to review a graphics card. Nicely done Flux! I especially liked the descriptor of "heckin chonky boy". EDIT: To your question of whether one should go for the 4070 Ti or say a 3090/3090 Ti, I'd say depends on if you are playing at 4k or 1440p. I would feel like I wasted money on the 4070 Ti at 4k given its performance scaling to that resolution is hampered by the 192-bit bus. Plus the argument for 24GB vs 12GB at that resolution. Then again, the performance per watt is such a big improvement over Ampere. Guess it boils down to what you are trying to get out of it.
  15. Glad to hear it. Yeah while I am not as familiar with pre-Zen 2/3 Ryzen, I had a feeling that was going to be the case. Each gen had its limits on FCLK and FCLK directly tied in some form to the memory speed. Had a feeling E was on to something with even 3200 being too high for it. Glad that fixed it.
  16. LOL - vidja game physics at their finest. Sure isn't real life physics.
  17. You know I didn't even catch it at first, but "hard F'ed", I chuckled re-reading.
  18. No, they can make plenty as long as "3" is not part of the title. Anyway, I got bored real quick on CS:GO so doubt I'll touch this.
  19. Literally never heard anyone call it a "hard r". They just call it the "r word" these days, so that's weird.
  20. Oof, that's not good. I don't watch a lot of LTT, but wish them the best in speedily recovering.
  21. Yeah last time I really played Flight Sim was Flight Simulator 2000, and some FSX. I already have one of these, was just curious if it would be sufficient starting out. I'm not really looking to do hyper realistic siming. I just like flying around sometimes. Thanks for the tips.
