  1. Source Fingers crossed my PSU will stay alive for a good while yet anyway.
  2. If you are like me, I justify spending money to solve minor annoyances all the time lol. I actually have the same fans as you, but they run off my case fan controller and not too bad...but they are certainly still audible. Great fans though no doubt.
  3. Yeah we are going to see more and more WC tech coming out for DDR5/PCIe 5 components. Brace yourself!
  4. Thanks for the info. I did see the StarTech version and consider it an option alongside the QNAP version. I did not spot the Trendnet one though, so will check it out. To be honest, even if I only get 3 Gbe out of it, that's better what I am getting now, so it is still a win.
  5. Hmmm looks like its going to be 5Gbe with something like this : https://www.broadbandbuyer.com/products/36835-qnap-qna-uc5g1t/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw8_qRBhCXARIsAE2AtRYMCm5Tm6HQ4Fy5WPoTcDaSFesFJ3vI-PKhZeVMtsVc6R0HZyNT4ZYaAlrOEALw_wcB
  6. Didn't think of that, likely one of their main goals. The whole deal is to help ramp up production anyway.
  7. Im really looking forward to this. Was the main reason I jumped to Win 11 as originally they only mention Direct Storage coming to 11 but good to see 10 will also see some love.
  8. There goes BWG, poaching hardware for the cause again Welcome to the community. Swooping in to Fold, I like it.
  9. DDU is a magic little thing. Saved me a lot of trouble. Though I only use it when I have to and I do not tend to do a fresh install of GPU drivers every time there is an update as it is more of a hassle. That being said, I have never had too many issues with Nvidia drivers.
  10. Hey guys, Is anyone aware of a USB 3.2 (Gen2) adapter to 10Gbe Ethernet ? Do they exist ? I can fairly easily find 5Gbe versions. Granted due to USB overhead, you would never get a full 10Gbe over USB. That being said though, if there are 10Gbe ones available I would prefer to go for one of those. Also worth mentioning that my USB port is NOT Thunderbolt unfortunately. Thanks, E
  11. This advert is COMPLETED!

Hello all, So I am in the market for a 5600X or similar of high specification (has to still be an AMD Ryzen CPU) Looking to replace the 2700X in my media system which takes care of zipping up large files and the 2700X could do with some improvement in that area. Having to do this one on a budget within reason. I could go to Ebay, but figured it would be nice to support some sales here 🙂 Happy to buy internationally but will need to discuss import duties. Many thanks, E

  12. I personally have always stayed away from base clock tweaking just for the instability issues alone. If it were just an Overclocking only rig, sure why not. But as my work/gaming rig, certainly not worth it. Not saying do not do it, everyone is free to do whatever they like with their gear, just me personally I stay away from it.
  13. Playing devils advocate, but why would a software tweak for base clock make a difference if the BIOS adjustment doesn't work ? I could be missing a point.
  14. Understood, have you considered the 20 Series, like the 2070/2080Ti ? Cheaper and will likely hit your goals of FPS @144hz , granted that a 30 series gets you more PPD, but it all comes down to what is more important to you at this point.
  15. Agreed. If you are a folder then Nvidia still gives you the best PPD. I would also argue that in general, Nvidia drivers have far wider support for production applications, if you were ever using your GPU for anything hardware accelerated. Another key question, what is your motivation for upgrading ? Other than increased PPD ?
  16. If im nice... could I camp on someones lawn ? I only accept lawns that are freshly cut.
  17. Just put it to the back of your mind and let your brain file it to the bin
  18. Yeah, I actually meant to say that system temp obviously affects pressure which can also set it off. If my room ambient is on the warmer side, which most of the time it is with all the gear on, this will increase the system temp, thus affecting pressure values. I have just accepted it, the lights on it turn red, I disabled the audible alarm as that would 100% lead me to removing it from my system if I had to deal with that.
  19. Its a great product but it is finicky with the pressure. If it detects even the smallest pressure drop it will set off the alarm. Its standards I think are set too high to be realistic. You can make sure your fittings are tight and perfect but a good amount of time...you are never going to have a 100% air leak proof loop. Im hoping this might be addressed in a firmware update as I think its parameters are set too high for monitoring a consumer WC loop. If my PC was a submarine... fine lol. I do not use the fill feature on it, nice ability but I prefer filling my loop the old school way.
  20. I have the latest chipset drivers installed on my X570 mobo and cannot say I have had noticed any problems. Then again I do not benchmark everytime I update my drivers, only if I notice any issues real world. I have stutters now and again but I believe that to be an issue with TPM which AMD are addressing in May with there 1.2.0.7 AGESA.
