  1. Hah no idea bud. Hosts tend not to spec those as its kind of moot.
  2. Nice. For those interested the EHW server was purchased back when we came to IPS, so June 2021 and the server spec is as follows CPU: Intel Xeon-E 2136 RAM: 32GB DDR4 ECC 2666MHz SSD: 2x SSD NVMe 1TB Enterprise Class Soft RAID
  3. The page file is still necessary for some swap file tasks, and disabling it completely irrespective of how much RAM you may have, has been known to cause problems. I do not see anything wrong with your page file to be honest. I spent a good long time tweaking page files back in the day and ultimately, it was generally best to let Windows handle it. Skimping on pagefile only serves to free up some drive storage, and not much at that.
  4. The difference between the X series and Non-X series is....well very silly to be honest. It is true what Gamers Nexus says, you really do pay for the letter haha.
  5. Nice. There will be other opportunities soon as I look to do more
  6. Thanks very much for the additional input. We have an option to simplify homepage by hiding elements such as the entire sidebar to the right hand side, the carousel and the "latest" blocks. However this is a premium feature. What I could look to do is develop a "Simplified" topic view which hides elements that are not critical to consuming the topics information. For me what I would look to hide under a simplified view would be: - Classifieds feedback block from user postbit - Social Badges from user postbit - Rigs - User signature - Hide sidebar elements (right hand side) I think it is a worthwhile feature as we have it for the homepage, but we do not have it for in topic view. To be up front about it though, this sort of feature would end up as a premium feature to match the rest of our subscription model and to help pay for the site as we do not have ads etc for revenue. As stated by @Avacado, you will have the option to hide user rigs on posts for desktop and mobile. So that one is easily solved. Also thanks to those confirming the "bug". I will have to forward this to IPS and they will make a decision on it. :)
  7. Hey, I will keep an eye out for the issue. I have not had this just yet. If I see it, I will create a bug report with IPS. Could you explain this a little more ? Maybe with screenshot ? Just finding it tough to see what your meaning
  8. Ha, love it. Back in the day I did my fair share of ghetto rigging. Money was seldom...so had to be imaginative. Some of my best fun was had creating things to "Better" my PC.
  9. I agree, this moves against the green movement. I love performance as an enthusiast BUT I am more impressed by innovation where generationally you can get more for less. We should be working towards best performance with reduced power requirements generationally.
  10. Granted the Driver Control Panel UI has not changed in a million years and you can get more with GF Experience (Which I avoid) as it seems like extra rubbish in my system BUT if something just works, why change it ? Putting Linux aside, on Windows the Nvidia Driver Control Panel is yet to ever break on me and in reality rather than using it in the RTX branding, they should have used "It just works" on their control panel. Nvidia has all the necessary functions in their control panel in a familiar layout and it works. Don't fix what isn't broken I say. I have however always been a function over form kinda guy. I have nothing against the AMD control panel. It looks nice...that is the extent of my input on that.
  11. Hello all, So with respects to the recent March ETF competition: In short, points were only captured for day one of the event due to a points hiccup at Stanfords end. So we have two options how to to distribute prizing, or not. 1. We carry on drawing prizes, based upon the first day only. 2. We carry prizing over to April ETF competition. Please vote in the poll so we know what the consensus us and we will go with the majority vote All the best, E
  12. Perhaps message them ? You never know what might come of it.
  13. But the cost! Wallets all round the world will be crying.
  14. It is safe to say that our 24HR Average Output is doing some owning!
  15. We have our first FAQ related FAQ Thanks @PCSarge What is a GPU? (2022) - ExtremeHW EXTREMEHW.NET Our "What is a GPU" article covers what a GPU is, as well as some of the basic information and terminology related to GPU's to help you on your way.
  16. Had this problem before, however my tall heavy speakers were near the walls. So I just used a hook & eye system such as: IRONMONGERY WORLD® Exterior Outdoor USE CAST Iron Cabin Hook and Eye SHED GATE Door Latch in 9 Sizes (6" INCH/150MM) : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Free delivery and returns on all eligible orders. Shop IRONMONGERY WORLD® Exterior Outdoor USE CAST Iron Cabin Hook and Eye SHED GATE Door Latch in 9 Sizes (6" INCH/150MM). No animal is pulling things out of walls, assuming you have done it right.
  17. All the ones ive seen are Thunderbolt USB-C
  18. Yeah unfortunately none of the adaptors out there are USB 3.2 which sucks to be honest. It is false advertising really. I would think about a 2.5Gbe version but even if the 5gbe is performance gimped, I will take the extra performance over the 2.5Gbe. If my build was not mini-itx, I would just slam in a network card, but alas that is not possible due to the GPU I have in there for transcoding, as its a Plex server also. Not sure how often my GPU gets used for transcoding to be honest. Might be worth sacrificing. Not sure.
  19. After taking a look at this : USB 3.1 Gen1 to 5GbE Network Adapter Guide - ServeTheHome WWW.SERVETHEHOME.COM In our Buyer's Guide, we summarize our USB 3.1 Gen1 to 5GbE network adapter reviews so our readers can make quick comparisons Looks like the Sabrent steals the show with its performance and pricing.
  20. I have to say, this is really impressive. I am looking forward to the few years after Intel has become a little more confident in the gaming arena, you never know I might have my first ever Intel GPU sometime.
  21. Aquacomputer gear is amazing. Love all of it to be honest. Hopefully this weekend ill be fitting the Aquacomputer Highflow Next and the Octo to my PC. This thread made me finally decide to spring for the Octo.
  22. The new standard certainly doesn't need to exist. If there is an argument for efficiency then I understand and agree with that for environmental reasons. However other than that the new standard doesn't seem to add real tangible benefits to the end user that I can see. My EVGA 1600Watt will be fine for me. If we get hardware coming out that needs the new standard connector style...im good with an adapter.
