  1. GPU's for you to fold in half? @Andrewkeeps dodging me after trolling my folders. Am I going to need to join the podcast just to get a reply?
  2. I ran mine at 3k. What about using FSB to oc it.
  3. Did you fold gpu's in half on this one?
  4. I played UT99 last week and there were still some active game servers. I just think it's cool this tech is still used today.
  5. Holy wow! That's one of my bajillion subscriptions.
  6. https://www.overclock.net/threads/overclocking-water-cooled-x4-4-4-ghz-x2-555-c3-unlocked-x4-b55.971968/ Just in case.
  7. Yeah, for now. I imagine some adjustments will need to be made in the future, but it should be a great baseline adjustment. This is not exactly final either. Other options are being considered, but this seemed like the most reasonable solution. It also makes it so old hardware can compete. Kind of interesting, yet I know there will be issues to work out still. I have also thought of making Division III, which was reserves/proving grounds previously, into categories that are simply individual cards. Example: Category 3090, 3080, 3070, etc. that we isolate passkeys and track anyone who wants us to. That gives us something interesting to look at and users can see exactly what each piece of hardware is doing and how it stacks up without being in TC. This could also be used for other future folding events. Could even explore an event where you get points, somewhat like auto racing, for each position within the category.
  8. So, query each user and ask what os they will run, and then base the adjustment on the PPD figures estimated for the os?
  9. After a month wait, the Watercool HK4Pro is here and in. Took temps down roughly 6C on my 5800x vs the EK Supremacy Evo.
  10. Hey Everyone! So, we have a few people interested in joining, that's good. I'm still trying to get some more, but I believe it's time we publicly discussed the biggest situation we've always had issues with for this event, how to balance out the teams to give everyone a chance to win. (No, not the stats site. I know someone's thinking that out there) One thing I will mention is you can now fold for either team, OCN or EHW in this event, so when FAT rolls around on OCN, you don't have to re-configure your clients other than maybe switching teams if you normally fold here now. That's been tested by me and is functioning perfectly. I have 1 1070 on OCN and 1 1070 on EHW right now. zodac used to use restrictions on hardware which I'm not a big supporter of. What 'it' did was allow a big ppd item in 1 category that was known to blow everything else away, for example, a RTX 3090 in our current environment. That would usually result in 1 folder winning a category and 1 folder having no chance to win a category. Not a big fan, never was, but it did level out the teams. Enterprise has made a suggestion that I have checked on and can be implemented within the stats site which is a handicap system. We take the PPD estimates from a site and use the variance to come up with an individual hardware handicap. So, if 3090 is the top car in a category, and we take only the Windows PPD Averages into account, then the PPD is said to be 6,286,403 while the 3080 is 5,402,320. That means the 3080 is doing 86% of the 3090 PPD. We can make an overall points column in stats, and then an adjusted points column using a 116% adjustment to the points of the 3080 and score the category and competition on the adjusted/handicap totals. That leaves 3 variables to get an edge, 1) Folding better 2) Overclocking 3) Linux OS. That's the best system we've come up with to equalize teams and make the event more close because as you can already see, the 3090 is roasting everyone else testing tc stats site combined.
  11. I'm going to be firing up an old fx in the near future for my hertz folding rig.
  12. Well, this is the first time I've been bitten by Kevdog's Law. Ironically, my 45 day old Seasonic Focus just bit the dust. Gotta see how this will work being from Amazon. Put the old faithful Silencer MKII in from my LanBoy and fired up at least. Typing on it now. So, down a 1070 until I get a PSU. Ohhhhhhhh @ENTERPRISE
  13. Took me a while, but I finally was able to download it. I flashed the bios, but that's as far as I got.
  14. @pioneerisloudis a professional tv wall mounter. He's got all of the answers.
  15. Double Post, but it happens. TC Stats reset to 0's officially. Testing will likely conclude at the end of April, and then we'll likely take a month or less to sort out the final rules. http://tc.axihub.ca/
  16. Yay! I'm gonna go get it now. Edit: Or stare at this empty screen. Oh look, it changed!
  17. So, did a little research on my PM shenanigans. 550 people, and I swear I got 50% into the list and 96% of them had not even signed in after the PM was sent, and some for multiple years. So, I've started getting in touch through other means, and klue22 was the first one lol. Hope you read this old friend.
  18. Just a heads up, stats are being reset to enable updates that include folding for either ehw or ocn. ?No!
