  1. I wholeheartedly believe we'll have a Made In USA renaissance over the next decade, if not two or three. People are waking up to realize that cheap stuff that doesn't last isn't good for much other than waste, in the end. With all there is to efficiency and robust systems to keep the world running, you'd think we'd be more inclined to limitations and efficiency than we are - but we do the opposite and waste so much. We all pretty much take for granted the resources we use (at macro and micro levels).
  2. Not to derail topic; yup I read the same articles of the game affecting certain cards/manufacturers etc too. Just curious as you because it's apparently beyond the 3090's now... But.. on the game - I've never played a real MMORPG - except Second Life (a long time ago) and that was.. not fun. However my good friends who are big time WoW players mentioned that NW is better since you can level up any weapon, make two characters per realm, and something else that makes it more fun than MMORPG of similar play. I thought about getting it and I might here in a few weeks - but I'm a dumb run-n-gun FPS junkie. Since Duke/Doom... ROTT, all the fun ones from back in the day. CS of course... Anyways.
  3. I know mining has earned a few people 'freedom' from the rat race and other small-percentage instances of financial-deficit defeat. However.... my biggest gripe with mining isn't the monetary side of it, the pollution or the eventual stress on the grids.... It's just how insanely, grotesquely and fantastically awful it's been for science/useful block chain technologies. NFT's are kinda the black eye in this respect. Imagine if NFT's were replaced by science driven mechanisms instead of... digital art. Now, I'm not saying there shouldn't be 'digital' art nor do I believe there shouldn't be a 'market' for it. But 8-bit sprites are a hard sell for my perspective. I give credit to artists who use the opportunity for quote-on-quote 'art'... but c'mon selling fractions of a digital footprint is... NO BETTER THAN SELLING FRACTIONS OF A HOUSE AS AN 'INVESTMENT'.
  4. I feel like there's just simply nothing out there 'not worth' stealing. I've gotta see more read ups on this and now I've got me a little paranoia about my own accounts...
  5. Looks like a good time to buy stock in AMD, before it skyrockets, again. Congratulations to Su, she has proven very methodical in her leadership. I do hope however that, the appointees keep advisories in the interest of the public, and not the private (looking at YOU GOOGLE/MS).
  6. I'm a terrible wordsmith. Feel free to substitute any of the following for the word "shy": * Lazy * Uneager * Unenthusiastic
  7. Well alrighty then! I'll wait until it becomes free to 10 users for upgrade.
  8. Oooh please someone install and give feedback so we don't have to rely on timid/forced editorials on how great or how bad it is! Please!
  9. Yeah I'll be on the road here pending a few things. If I can get service I'd be stoked. I recently saw a blog thing about this guy in AUS who has mobile setup via 4G (four) and 5G (one) modems on his van but is excited to get Starlink to replace at least 3 or 4 of them... I'm still trying to find a travel trailer so I don't have to sleep in the back of my SUV lol.... I mean I'm not opposed, have done it plenty. But it'd be nice to have a small trailer with lights/water/toilet... I just don't wanna buy new...
  10. I totally want to get one and plop it on a travel trailer then be a god damned nomad for a while. With awesome internet access of course, from anywhere. Thanks Elon!
  11. Wasn't there already Rampage and other tuning available? What makes this different? Admittedly, forgive me I have not read the article yet...
  12. LOL! Such great lines... "What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz? CHICKEN?"
  13. Independent Article Link Well, I hope it's in the shape of a very large vacuum with a rightly-sized robot maneuvering it...
  14. Taskbar can't move yet? Hope they fix that, or ELSE MS! I like mine at the top... everything drops down nicely. I'm sure it'll be fixed come RTM
  15. *email dings* | Hey everyone, shhhh, look what I found in the boss' files! | *everyone opens the doc* 10 minutes later... * IT Department* "* PEOPLE?! How did we let our whole network come under attack?" *The boss* "I opened it too..."
  16. I was just reading the workings of W11 internally and boy oh boy... it sounds like it's not a great move forward. But, with the theme of 'on the go' can we expect better W11 mobile devices to supplant say, Apple or Android? It all sounds like they're expecting W11 to be embedded on devices far beyond desktops. I see this as a rapid deployment of W11 workspace for exactly what other articles have suggested - the streamlined 'snappiness' is available to those even on virtual desktop environments. Signage, ad displays, vehicles, and on and on where tech can intercede in life. But, am I thinking too far out yet? It seems to me given current MS track record that if it is what it seems to me, then we're in for a lot of broken promises, devices, and badly implemented inter connectivity (with the non-digital world) over the next 5 years. Then again, if it's a move back to hardware based prioritizing instead of web-based apps and 'make everything work everywhere regardless of hardware', this could be the other thing and really really really good for creative/gaming/hardware acceleration in the near future. Akin to the leaps of performance form 1999 to 2009 and so forth in hardware.
  17. I agree. Really curious as to how this is intended to be controlled/monitored, especially from the business (monetary) side of the equation.
  18. Ooh, user-defined expandable/configurable storage for tablets? That would be nice.
  19. I've figured the tech side of this is 'relatively' simple and possible, but how else could/would they enforce this? That said I have no experience in China business / Chinese life other than what is presented to me via 'news' and 'articles', be they main stream or other outlets, so if anyone has intimate knowledge of this I'd really be interested in reading it...
  20. To add, on this topic - Not to get all conspiracy on things, BUT - as the poles are moving faster right now and the jet stream/ocean currents are shifting - this is leading to lots more UV and other cosmic rays entering/tangling with Earth. Less magnetosphere protection = more bombardments from even far, far, far away sources (think gamma rays, pulsars). We luckily dodged a bullet relatively recently as a huge CME went opposite our direction, BUT - it's only a matter of time. This NASA link explains what happens when weak coverage distorts how satelites operate and the un-fun process of having to manage updating them. Imagine what could happen when it breaks down over populated areas.
