  1. Get well soon! All the very best from the cosmos to you!
  2. MSI Raider GE75 - specifically the 10SE model (thanks Costco!) Working well, but fans should be at 6000+ RPM on their 'full speed' mode. Have cleaned them out a few times and get better temps/results and short of repasting (which I'm not inclined to do right now) is there anything I can do to get them back to their original 6000+ RPM's? There are (2) fans one on each side and currently after last cleaning one is at 5500~ and the other at 5200~. Am I doing it wrong? lol... Oiling? Swapping seems like huge project for little return investment . . . Anyone have experience with this kinda thing?
  3. Aye thanks, it's been a good run. The goal was Oct to Oct or if the money ran out. Luckily the money hasn't run out, but I'm coming up on the end of my journey, unless I figure a way to work from the road (money close!). @UltraMega I did sell my trailblazer and bought a 2001 Dodge Ram Van 1500b (conversion) and it's been a game changer for sure.
  4. Guess I might as well add a few more, been a while since I have. FWIW~ @pioneerisloud I may end up in Washington again (I only did the Olympic Peninsula area really) and I'll holler at ya if/when I do! Burnside Lake, off Hwy 88, Hope Valley area Cape Blanco Lighthouse, Oregon Coast Hwy 101 Diana's Punch Bowl, off Hwy 50, Nevada (near Austin) Obligatory Sunset Pic, cause, sunset. Oregon Coast Hwy 101 Double Rainbow @ Old Faithful, Yellowstone National Park - This was just before the stormy mayhem that wiped out north road and homes etc. Literally a week prior. Single snap of the geyser and rainbow, Old Faithful Campsite best friend and I made, fire pit bigger than it looks, flames got nearly 15+ ft high. Near Palisades Reservoir, Idaho/Wyoming. Looks like a wild fire dog. Wild horses on the way to Diana's Punch Bowl Tons more, but I'm lazy and may end up putting a whole randy site together with pics and my travel journal entries.
  5. I've got the 750 in my desktop (in storage atm) - is the 850 a step up or essentially identical???
  6. Welp. Decided eff-it, get the storage speed updated. NVME (secondary) and Crucial SSD (to replace spinner, obviously lol). MSI Raider GE75 10SE. SPEEDY SNAPPY SNAPPY (will add ssd pic when it arrives, interweb placeholder pic til then)
  7. I'm guessing benchmarks - just like anything, produce statistical outliers, probably where the 18fps came in Solid results for stable and increased FPS with tweaking one single setting - now you just gotta tell us when you play how it 'feels' The drop in render time by cutting in half probably produced way smoother visuals too 100% vs 50%
  8. @schuck6566 Curious question, did you play the game with both to see how it 'feels' per-se? The second pic shows a low of 42fps while the upper shows a low of 18fps; probably no big deal FPS-wise for a game like AC, but I've had my own fair share of low FPS quarrels with 3rd person games. I notice it in heavy scenes in RDR2 but the game just looks so friggin good in Ultra.
  9. It'd be pretty awesome to take some of the images that are not too 'oddballish' (that's a word, right? lol) and have them displayed on a clear LCD or something and add music with light sensors to 'move' the image to the music.... Someone gonna do if it's not already been done, FOR SURE imho....
  10. That's a huge score for profiting on the items you can part with / resell, AND you scored a NINTENDO! DOPE!
  11. Bummer on TT's part. You'd think they would at least be interested in merging the site with like-minded sites.
  12. Pretty impressive. 13 years for $2 a share to over $120. Says something. They'll be around at least another 50 yrs. Take my money!! (lol)
  13. Man, I do plan to hit WA/OR. I'll definitely remember and hit you up!
  14. More pics, cause I'm bored right now. The Gorge at Shoshone Falls Near Route 30, close to actual Oregon trail.. Walker Lake, NV Trippy hippy insta rock art advert. Sierras at Tinemaha, Owens Valley Ancient Bristlecone National Forest; the view from Sierra View about 9000 feet up overlooking Owens Valley, from just north of Mt Witney, all the way past Bishop, CA. Impressive view and the picture doesn't quite do it justice. More to come...
  15. Trailblazer - currently looking at upping my vehicle game.
  16. Just thought I'd share some photos from my current road touring adventures. My road dog. Blue heeler, Aussie/Sheepherder, maybe some other stuff. Definitely a dingo body when short shaved. Standing where the water used to be before declines (Palisades Reservoir, ID). Cool but, not cool, and pretty but not pretty. Obligatory Idaho Falls, ID, the falls. Massacre Rocks Balanced Rock Holidays with family. Cramped gaming style, compactness? Pro level. There's more but I'm lazy now. Stopped over in NorCal at buddy's place for a few. Back on the road soon. More to come...
  17. Oh no doubt; my mind just see's the technology eventually being scaled downward. Akin to computers - once giant sized buildings required, now held in your hand. Something along those lines, but likely not at that kind of absolute scale. I don't know enough about it but have been loosely following most developments around plasma, fusion, fission and nuclear since a kid. I believe we'll figure out so much more this century that'll catapult us in 'technological' achievements, so long as we don't destroy ourselves in the process or surrounding bureaucracy.
  18. LOL ^^ For unique application I was thinking more along the lines of submersible vehicles and motor-home sized roaming vehicles for true 'off grid' capabilities in the boonies...
  19. I wonder if this will achieve desired results in my life time. And then if it is, I wonder if I'll also witness this technology further developing at smaller scale, assuming that it could be scaled down for other unique applications.
  20. It begs me to ask: Will we see a new 'format' of physical x that will replace a streamable counterpart? For instance MP3 came about as a highly compressible format in part due to size constraints of then-current media available IIRC. So then, as 8K (and beyond) becomes normal, will we soon see a 'thumbdrive' (for lack of a better form/format) that will offer what a streamed/internet connected option can't?
