  1. no prizes for me either; looking forward to shrinking pookie's head and having it bobbling quietly on a shelf in my emporium. (got to finish the work on my slugster boomstick first though)
  2. As an (okay) boomer with almost 70 years under his belt and a bit of gut overlap, one who tends toward speaking in troll, I've taken note of that as well; and as a long term scholar schooled in social-psychology and history (among other things), I'd posit there are a lot of things going on above and beyond the market that might be cause for concern as well. ...there's only so much property one can buy in Hawaii before one runs out of land to build a bunker on. 3. gee, now i've got the blues...
  4. @Slaughtahouse Yeah, I had to disable my anti-tracker and do a refresh to get the code @Andrew shared to display the linked content properly. It shows up styled correctly now.
  5. following is what copied html from another site then pasted here content looks like to someone using the dark theme: (suggestion: don't paste content formatted offsite here; paste it unformulated, then format it here if formatting is needed/wanted) :

  8. Added: also happens in MS Edge when signed out of the site. additional relevant info perhaps: The div containers IDs leftMore and middleMore (the left and middle columns) are NOT being populated with content when signed out; while the div container ID innerMore (the right column) IS being populated with content. That said, I believe the content for innerMore is likely being sourced by way of the WordPress instance in the subdomain (but correct me if I'm mistaken). As for the content that should be populating the left and middle columns, the forum instance should be the source for that. In any event, that's where I'd start looking for the disconnect(s).
  9. Speaking of AI, specifically in the context of content creation/manipulation, some might find the following interesting:
  10. Try a browser refresh (e.g., CTRL+F5, etc.) when it happens while you're signed in and let us know if that helped. Could also be associated with the Cloudflare cache issue E alluded to in another post.
  11. Happens to me using the latest version of Firefox on Win 11 when I'm not signed in. Issue clears up after I sign in.
  12. @ENTERPRISEI didn't make any mention of targeting/responsive viewport size with that code, but I figure your dev will realize that anyway. .ipsBreadcrumb > ul li, ul.cAuthorPane_info li.ipsMargin_top ul li { padding-right: 1em !important; } Agreed about the caching issue.
  13. Trivia: Robin Leonard Trower is an English rock guitarist who achieved success with Procol Harum throughout 1967–1971, and then again as the bandleader of his own power trio known as the Robin Trower Band.
  14. Before this next one, a backstory: a buddy of mine and I were listening to stoner fm radio back in the early 70s when everyone suspected anyone who listened to stoner fm radio of being stoned. Anyway, my buddy had a fairly elaborate hi fi system back then and we were zoning out in front of a pair of his huge Klipsch Horns--like those in the blown away ads they used to air--when all of a sudden it got really quiet. Then "The Dark" started playing in an intriguing sort of way, my buddy turned up the volume a bit, and we became captivated by it. By the time the narrator (Arch Oboler) was finished telling the story, we were totally mesmerized. Then, without warning, that clashing noise at the end (the loudest symbols possible) burst out of the speakers sounding like the volume had been turned up 1200%, perhaps by the dj who was playing the piece at the time. All we could do was let out a couple of long drawn out loud "wowwwwwwwws." I eventually moved on to other stuff, my buddy not so much. I came across his obit a few years back and learned he died in 2016. We had some good times together, but lost touch with each other when he shipped out to Thailand while I went to Spain. R.I.P. bud.
  15. Don't worry, be happy
  16. Again, given the plethora of browser/user related combinations, all of you want to keep in mind that what you see and how things work browser-wise for each of you will depend on an array of things. For instance, I can make things work the ways you are experiencing them by adjusting options that are available to me as a signed in user with a premium subscription. It would also do well to keep in mind that this site is technically a combination of two separately managed (unique), but somewhat integrated instances of web content (the Invision forum side of the site and the WordPress side for the review content). Anyway, in what follows (and to illustrate a few points), I'm using the current version of Firefox on Win 11, with my premium user options set to allow the display of the carousel and side nav bar when viewing the forum side of the site: Then, when I opt to hide the sidebar and the slider blocks on the "Home" page, a setting which only really impacts the Invision forum side of things: I get what follows: The confusion is actually more related to how each half of the site's linked logos and "Home" top nav menu items are set up; the use of "Home" in each top menu bar (and the two logos, each respectively assigned its own unique link), being the important distinction. That said, I used to have a WordPress business site that also provided access to an SMF (Simple Machines Forum) forum in a subdomain; the header and logos of each half of the site cleared spelling out which was which (e.g., X Site "Home" vs. the X Site "Forum"), as well as nav menu items that received a similar treatment (e.g., X Site "Home" vs. the X Site "Forum"). That way, users could easily go back and forth between the two halves of the site and know just where they were at. Finally, a few links that some might find relevant: how+not+to+screw+up+usability - Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM interaction design best practices: adding a forum to a web site
  17. Careful, such thoughts could trigger the beginning of an ageless argument
  18. Also, as a retired albeit fairly experienced web dev/designer, the note that follows might be useful as well (fwiw): Note: given the wide array of available browsers/viewport sizes/etc. (e.g., mobile vs. desktop; different screen sizes, portrait vs. landscape, etc.) that are likely in use, when reporting content related issues/problems, it'd be a lot more helpful if those reports included any additional relevant info that can be provided. A shortlist follows: the name of the browser used when the issue was noted (e.g., firefox vs. chrome, vs edge, etc.); if applicable, desktop vs laptop, screen size., operating system, etc.; if applicable, mobile phone/tablet make and model; whether viewing in portrait or landscape, etc.; and whether you tried to confirm the issue could be repeated using a different browser/hardware/os, etc.
  19. Fwiw, I took a look at this. What follows might be helpful:
  20. ugh, sad news, another old fav gone with the wind: Melanie, Singer Who Performed at Woodstock and Topped Charts With ‘Brand New Key,’ Dies at 76 VARIETY.COM Melanie, the singer who performed at Woodstock and had pop hits with 'Brand New Key' and 'Lay Down,' has died at age 76. R.I.P. Melanie. Seems like a little piece of something in me dies with each one that passes; or as another long gone old fav might say were he still here today, listen to them, children of the night. What music they make... music was the life..., 'Renfrow.'
