  1. Is it just my Comp/Browser or are other people missing all the post in the Latest Post and Latest News sections? The Latest Reviews section is there and fine. Here's a screen shot of the page.

    Windows 10 FireFox ver 122.0 64bit

Edit: Also happens using Chrome Browser, including shots of both.Screenshot_917.thumb.jpg.82b2714a0b66e792e7ffeda7ac0d43f3.jpg

Oh, apparently it's in great shape now. Ever since ~2019, I've heard only good things. One of the few redemption stories out there, like Cyberpunk 2077.

I haven't played it but with any very large, ambitious game, especially from a smaller studio, you may not want to jump in right away. Unless you simply wish to support the devs and you believe they can pull it off 🙂 Their in good shape so I suspect it will get there.

I love large, expansive worlds, but I still need a narrative or critical path to redirect myself to when I get bored of wandering. That's really the only reason why I haven't played No Man's Sky. Starfield scratches that itch for me but I only wished Starfield had a better exploration system. Not just transitions from space to planets but more meaningful experiences when landing on planets (not just a 50* km2 zone).

The wife bought it when it came out, it was a wreck. They got it fixed so it runs and looks good, but she doesn't like it because it seems like the same thing over & over just with different scenery.

Black Friday Deals are starting to go live.

Black Friday Sale at Green Man Gaming. Buy now for the best prices at huge discounts. PC...

GMG is my go-to for an alternative store for Steam DRM games. If you have noticed other sales, feel free to drop a link.

Also, any appetite for an ExtremeHW Steam secret santa? It’s should be as simple as sharing our wishlist of games on Steam and we can choose to gift each other. We can set a few ground rules like a spend limit and quantity limit per user to ensure everyone gets in on the gifting action.

If I get at least… 7 lightbulbs on this comment by this Friday , I’ll organize it. I could create a separate thread.

Let me know your thoughts 🙂

GOG has some games also if people haven't picked them up yet....  Just an example.

Fled OCN like everyone else because it's pretty dead. Well that and my display name was gendered and I figured out I'm a trans lesbian. These days I do nutty stuff like OCing ram by 50%, modding the snot out of my gear to make it run faster, and snuggling my girlfriends.

Most of my hardware is bodged together one way or another, ex: mobo on Wrath is using a laptop CPU heatsink for the chipset because the fan annoyed me.

Welcome, most of us fled here when we heard about it because we went quality over quantity.... 😀

Can't post my test since I'm at work, but I live in western North Carolina, Pisgah/Brevard area, and I only get 30mbps at my house. Not 300, not 3000, but 30. And less than 10, mostly less than 5, for up. DSL, which apparently wasn't even supposed to be run to my house as its 500 feet outside the service area but a rogue att tech apparently ran it a few years ago. Like when i first moved in and made an appointment, they canceled because they said they didn't serve my address. I had to tell them that the previous home owner had been using them, and they came back. Hasn't been a huge issue as I'm mostly just a gamer, don't need much bandwidth. I just have a fair amount of drive space and I make sure to keep most of my games updated and installed.

I feel your pain. The reason I switched to cable back around 2005-06 was because I was moving across town(same town, just a few miles away)and where I was before att offered an upgrade to 6mbps from 3 so I figured I'd get it at the new place. Well, at the new place they told me all I could get was 1(one)mbps which averaged 756kbps. They explained it was because I was further away from their servers. I called cox/suddenlink to see if they could install the day I was moving in, and they didn't have a modem @ the local store, but if I wanted to buy my own instead of renting theirs, they could do it "And,Oh,by the way,we are offering a $20 rebate to customers who supply their own modems, just bring the receipt into the office to apply for it". My local Office Depot had 1 on sale for $29.99 with a $20 rebate and I got $20 from the cable company. Made $10 and saved rental fees because they were out of stock, got 10mbps to start for my speed with 5x the data. lol, cost per month was actually cheaper when it got bundled.

If this pans out, it could be an excellent device but I would still prefer the freedoms of the Steam Deck, modding, custom OS etc.

However for someone who is just wanting a plug and play device, the Switch 2 could shake things up.

Depending on the game, some are bringing the mods to consoles. Skyrim already has it, Dying Light2 bring it now, and Starfield is supposed to be having it. 🙂  They're realizing that console gaming is a big chunk also.
