  1. I swear, there were bagpipes playing while I read it. I felt like the clan had been called to battle . P.S. D@#n it, I was "sure" you probably already had broken 30K on CBR23 and posted it elsewhere, but after going backwards 2 pages in this thread and also looking at your recent postings on this forum, I got lazy and decided maybe you hadn't. Regardless, I shall continue to imagine the competitor in you was leaning in towards the monitor hoping to see 30k in the Linux based CB runs .
  2. Careful, or someone will try to turn your food into a religious icon .
  3. I can testify from firsthand experience that MX-5, when fresh, is thick enough to rip a 5950X out of an AM4 socket if not properly "wiggled" when detaching a Heatkiller IV from the IHS...
  4. Aye, a true workhorse, and the "sire" of most of what followed.
  5. @Mr. Foxwhen you close your eyes at night, do you dream of CBR23 30K? Great looking stuff per usual .
  6. So...is FSR2.0 incorporated into RSR? I'll watch it again when I have time, but I got the impression that RSR will initially be equivalent to FSR1.0, but integrated down at the driver level, as to be of benefit in a far greater range of titles. Regardless, I'll be eager to see what Tim @ Hardware Unboxed has to say about it.
  7. I think its possible that J7 and I both buy a "concentrate" coolant and dilute it with deionized water. There are multiple grades of deionized. Real deionized water should have far fewer ions (the charge carriers in a water based solution) than distilled water. High grade deionized water will have a pH of almost exactly 7, and a specified ion concentration maximum. Likely overkill, but per Bastion, that word doesn't exist in this realm . An example: MAXTITE Type II Deionized Water - Laboratory Grade (4 Gallons): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
  8. E8400 Wolfdale. She's still chugging along in somebody else's desk at work. W10Pro is asking a lot of her, but so far, she has met the challenge of every subsequent Windows release and its associated bloat.
  9. I suspect you are already aware E, but just in case, I've read repeatedly on OCN that orientation is critical to minimize "ticking".
  10. To be clear, my has nothing to do with Avacado's spelling. It's a forum username, so there could be a million reasons to spell it that way, and none matter to me. I face palmed because despite how much time she might spend on Facebook, err in the metaverse now I guess, my wife is clueless regarding "tech" culture. IMO, there's a million ways to come up with a good username, but spelling doesn't factor in for me. I mean my actual name isn't Arch Stanton. Arch Stanton is the name on the grave that ends up NOT having the gold in it at the end of spaghetti western masterpiece "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". One of my favorite films to watch with my dad growing up. Mom, on the other hand, was less than enthusiastic .
  11. I spend a significant amount of timing with messes like: So, maybe soft tubing looks "normal" to me .
  12. I may be in the minority, but I prefer the look of soft tubing, and I believe your routing of the lines is aesthetically superb!
  13. No plans for immediate use. Something to keep in the supply cabinet for a possible future rainy day.
  14. The wife and I are watching an episode of Criminal Minds, our current "spend time together in a relaxed setting watching something that occasionally prompts us to share our views on life's various 'gray' areas" show of choice. My cell phone's notification "siren" goes off because I have left it in "work" mode (I need to be able to hear it over a running tractor/forklift) rather than "home" mode (vibrate only). The wife: "Is everything okay?" Me: "Yes, it was just one of the other 'computer dorks' commenting on a forum post I made." I hold the phone where she can see the screen for confirmation (Avacado happens to be the specific poster). The wife: "His name is spelled wrong (I believe grammatically she should have said something like "incorrectly" instead of "wrong")". Me: "Yes, baby, yes, it is."
  15. I also don't "work" with it, but if memory serves, I've seen instances of it consuming 100% of system memory on machines people have brought me in the past for a "tune up".
  16. The crazy part is, I am convinced he is sandbagging to be polite and only stay slightly ahead .
  17. The best kind for those that enjoy learning something new .
  18. I have no need/desire for one currently, and I will not feel "cheated" if the option is removed.
  19. Anyone have time to explain the steps required to correctly (if possible) run dual PSUs in a single system (specifically a single motherboard, not one of the "2 systems in one box" builds)? Say, GPU on its own dedicated PSU and the rest of the system on the "primary" PSU. I can envision splitting the output from the "power on/reset/etc." buttons no problem, but do we run into issues with "desynchronized" signals from the two PSUs? I wouldn't think so but can't be 100% sure by force of imagination alone.
  20. I see what looks like a ground clamp on the left and a cooling fan on the "head". Is that a laser/plasma cutter?
  21. When I saw mine hit 14.2k I got really curious as to what yours is truly capable of doing. Beautiful score man . Edit: If you don't mind my asking, what was your "get" voltage at those settings?
  22. CPU-Z bench stable only. DOC enabled at 60A. Hysteresis 0. 1.425v set/1.306v get. CCX0 48.75/CCX1 48.25. 233W. 71.4⁰C peak core. 16⁰C ambient. I could not push CCX0 higher without crashing regardless of voltage (did not test above 1.475 set). CCX1 showed performance regression above 48.25 multiplier. Now time to get back to stability testing my "daily driver" settings.
  23. I wish . Even if my latter day CPU could match his, there is far too large a gap between his skills and mine. In the interest of full disclosure, my RAM/fclock only works because I copy/pasted his settings...
  24. @Storm-ChaserAppologies for adding this an hour after your update, but better late than never I guess. Straight PBO2. No dynamic OC switching or static OC. C8DH bios 3801. Ambient 16⁰C. 300/160/225.
  25. It's only stable enough to run the ST bench, but at least I can die now in the 700 club.
