  1. Great stuff (and again, congrats!)! Got some questions: How long is the Conductonaut application typically good for (length of time between refreshes)? Do you use Conductonaut on the outside of the copper ihs as well (between the block and the top of the ihs)? Do you change out the copper ihs with a new one each delid/refresh? Which block are you using? Copper, nickel plated, etc.? You've probably mentioned the answers to all of these in one place or another already; but my old eyes have been tiring out quickly lately and I'm afraid I'm going to need a cane to get around my workbench before too long . As always, TIA!
  2. Here ya go; solid as a rock. It's a dry test fit of course and I might or might not swap out the white for black or another color. I'll likely also add small rubber washers where the brackets join the rest of the Atlas at those four corners (to support a small amount of vibration isolation).
  3. My guess is he copied and pasted the gif image
  4. Looks like I won't use that side bracket after all. The long sides of the stock bracket are a bit too wide for my liking fitting wise, so instead I picked up four feet of 1/8" (0.125) thick 1/2" wide cold rolled steel plate and cut it to size. I'll drill it tomorrow, then clean it up, prime it, and paint it flat black. Should suit my needs perfectly.
  5. I'm aware the most energy efficient option would be best. I'm just looking to make use of what I have without buying anything new. Best case I find a use for this hard ware is some fore or the locals scrap yard can have. I'm going to a fire sale, everything must go or it's trash sale soon. I got a gaming PC I shouldn't need to upgrade much for years, same should go for my media sever. So last thing I can think of is a super over powered router. That can handle SM QOS with ease and can scale to stay great for 5+ Years. So what I am looking at getting if I can't use what I have now
  6. I'm looking at building myself a router with old parts. My choices are a Supermicro X9SRH-7F-B and a Xeon E5-2697 v2 with 64gb+ ram or a Asus RAMPAGE V with a 5930k and 16gb of ram. What would be the more powerful option? Would be adding 10gb cards to either option. Looking to support a Plex server with say 4 users streaming in 4k, with enough bandwidth for me to download 20 torrents, surf the net and game at the same time. Otherwise I have little to no clue what I'm doing. I'm sure I could find better options but I have no other use for either and will likely throw them out if I don't use them for something. Already got a plex server, figured a router is next
  7. Yeah, I recently saw some of it up close and noticed just how nice/professional it can look. Also ordered 3M Tape Primer 94 1/2 Pint 8oz For Vinyl Di-Noc (in pen form as well), just in case I end up needing it. See what you just did? Now I'm gonna have to dig punji stick pits and plant IEDs all around work benches
  8. Also ordered eight square feet (2x(4x1)) of 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Matte Black Vinyl Car Wrap Film Sheet Roll - CA421; as well as a few other dress up/functional items.
  9. Dual D5 pump/Res combo showed up today. I'm going to be cutting up one of the two side brackets I've got for the Yuel Beast Atlas II to facilitate mounting it in the Atlas II (I'll be taking the middle vertical and horizontal supports out of the one I need to cut up). Pix follow (haven't removed the plastic protective wrap yet).
  10. Speaking of which, Master/Slave also comes to mind, e.g., as used in synchronization. As a boomer, and in that context, I see no problem with it. Anyway, the weather is starting to get nice and it's just about time to get back to my shack in the woods in Montana. Got to stop at UPS first though and pick up a bunch of shipping supplies.
  11. Mostly both of those; though I'll be using an AC Quadro to control fan speed. Also, I'll be able to use one strip per 2x 360 rads since I'll only be using fans in push. Two loops, each with two 360 rads side by side (little fat boy and fat thin man). Two AC channels for 4x rads.
  12. Yeah it makes for cleaner cable management, specially if your customize the length of your fan cables, this would leave you with 1 cable per radiator. I did the same thing kinda with mine and Splitty9's, just took a lot of tape. That's how you get this clean with 63 fans and I got lazy and could of made it even cleaner.
  13. Dewire Relay power/pwm strips for my YB Atlas II build; ships from Holland:
  14. Likewise Maximum working temperature 60 °C Will that coz any problems?
  15. I was about to write that it looks a bit like a fuel filter for more of an industrial application. I'd be interested in knowing how much it cuts down on flow when added to a loop; though you could plumb it in such that you use valves to bypass it/empty it when it's not in use. Parker proffers some interesting ones; you'd only have to be careful of mixing metals.
  16. I've cut down my shopping on Amazon as much as feasibly possible. The quality of the service(s) they provide dropped substantially these past few years; as did that of a lot of the products they sell; and I'm seriously considering cancelling my Prime subscription. Oh, and don't ask me about scripted idiots working out of foreign call centers. I might feel obligated to respond using non-TOS approved terminology. So, anyway, not having much luck with z690?
  17. @ArchStanton That's not my build, but yeah, those might be considered for such use; though I believe he created them to sort of mimic acrylic bends when using soft tubing. Radikult Custom sells them on his site as well. Corner Brace | Radikult Custom WWW.RADIKULT-CUSTOM.COM Corner braces for soft tubing Imitates 90 degree bends on soft tube to achieve a similar look as hard tubing builds. Made out of Cast Acrylic and available in Colors : Black, White or Clear. For soft tube OD sizes:...
  18. Dual D5 Res for my YB Atlas II build:
  19. I looked at Nixie Tubes when I was working on my 'Beer's Virus' project, but didn't take it much further than that. Quite a few of the items I added to that project originated in Ukraine and other former Warsaw Pact nations, including Russia.
  20. yeah, i was thinking the same thing. easier said than done. thank God Alex Anderson, et al, for Dudley Do-Right though.
  21. @ArchStantonWill you be allowed to take Mr. Waddles truffle hunting on off-days?
  22. is the only thing that really matters. (you ought to watch me pick lottery numbers some day...)
  23. Auction Sniper. Have used it hundreds of times over the years and they never ever see me coming. Takes all the work out of winning auctions
