  2. Now time to bump this thread. @pututu your turn to bring some guys and crunch with us for a few days next month.
  3. Team did great though. We know team EVGA, especially our friend @CoolGTX really crunch hard, so it was unexpected for us to do this well. Thanks @pututu for the score feed, and [H] for hosting. Don't forget that next month is OUR second annual folding competition, and luckily we only do 48 hours
  4. The big die GPUs get most of the performance from parallelism of all those compute cores. I'd be interested to see what clocks and voltage you can manually tune for 150w.
  5. You can get that card down below 150w and not sacrifice much folding capability. When I'm not trying to heat the house or run up the power bill I just set it to 80% core frequency and 90% voltage (seems to stay around 2000MHz 800mV). I've been a bit more aggressive this week though.
  6. What makes a WU expire? Could be a few things, like maybe you shut it down before it finished then forgot. It could be that something was unstable like a bad overclock and it decided to abandon the WU. There's also simply some bad work units (my opinion). In the advanced viewer, click the logs and check the box that says warnings and errors. That might tell you something. But yeah remember this is 7 days, really a very harsh endurance run. Definitely not a sprint. So adjust your clocks to make sure they are 100% stable. If you are concerned about power or heat, try tuning for efficiency. The big GPUs can run like 80-85% clock speed and still churn out the work units while consuming half the power.
  7. @Sir Beregond the 10 is minumum total on a new user/key combination to start getting the qrb. No worries if you haven't got 10 yet, you'll get there in probably less than 24 hours then your points will be huge after that. Just keep folding as much as you can.
  8. If you feel like your points are LOW, check here to make sure that you are getting the quick return bonus: https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus You need a minimum of 10 WU completed and over 80% not failed. That seems low for the Ryzen 3600. I have a stock Ryzen 1600 folding on 4c8t and it's at least getting like 90K And I mean stock like 3700MHz core, DDR4-2133 lol. Maybe give it a couple hours then check the ppd again?
  9. Sorry I meant to do that. Thanks for reminder. I put the link in the second post. I don't think that one updates quickly at all, like maybe twice it updated today.
  10. It's about another half million, worth it to me considering that's more than some of my GPUs are putting out Funny he only has a Wraith Prism but it's keeping it cool, only 75C while folding, amazing!
  11. Ethan said we can fold on his gaming PC so that's another 5800x and RX 6600 into the mix (under MicheleEHW).
  12. yeah like firedfly said, request a passkey from f@h so that you get the quick return bonus. The qrb kicks in after 10 WUs completed, then your points will be huge.
  13. Reminder, we're about 16 hours until start. Get those folding rigs started so you can iron out any last minute issues!
  14. I voted NO, but if there was a 3rd option that said something like "leave it alone. it's not broken" I would have voted that.
  15. Galaxy A12. I'm guessing that was not supposed to be how it looks?
  16. One day you'll be able to have an AI post the AI articles and I will have an AI that reads them
  17. Good luck with the new CHV! Mess around with any of that FM2 yet?
  18. As far as I know, we don't have to sign up over there. We're getting clarification though.
  19. [H]ardForum has invited us to their annual foldathon. So instead of our normally scheduled 3-day in January, it is now a 7-day competition for forum bragging rights. https://hardforum.com/threads/annual-h-vs-taat-folding-home-bigadv-eol-5th-anniversary-challenge.2032553/ Official Score Card: https://hardforum.com/threads/2024-5th-bigadv-eol-challenge-results.2032988/ - We still fold with our Team Number 239902. - I know 7 days is a lot, so do what you can. At least it is winter for most people! - If this works out, this opens the door to future cooperation and competitions between other forums. Thanks @firedfly for the ideas and being liaison for this.
  20. Welcome to the ExtremeHW 7-day Folding Competition, January 24th-31st 1200 *UTC* Start Time: January 24th 12:00 UTC End Time: January 31st 11:59 UTC Countdown to Event Start Countdown to Event Stop ^^CLICK THOSE IF YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE NOT UTC TIME ZONE^^ How to participate: During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902 Stats: You can view the stats for the foldathon here: https://ehwfoldingstats.lazypenguin.com Prizes: p.m. @damric or @firedfly if you have something suitable to give away* tbd Folding Time Prizes: tbd Excluded from Prizes: tbd Mind the EVENT START TIMER as it is UTC time zone. Note: Stats are updated as soon as possible, but less frequent than desired. Just keep folding! Note: Extreme Team Members remember to use a different pass key than your ETF key (If you don't know what that is then it probably does not apply to you). Folding is stressful on hardware, and will often break an overclock unless it's been tested with folding. I do not recommend overclocking high end GPUs as the power draw can be extreme while folding. If anything, try tuning for energy efficiency. Casualties happen and EXTREMEHW can not be held accountable if you destroy your hardware while folding. Thank you for your participation! *must be approved so please send message in private before posting.
  21. Just got back from holiday vacation. I rolled a d20 to see who won the DDR4. @mx500torid You won the random draw for the Patriot DDR4-4400 16GB. Please send me your shipping address in a timely manner and I'll get these mailed out. Happy New Year ALL! I'm looking at January 19, 20, 21st for next foldathon. I'll need to firm that up with @firedfly then one of us will post that.
  22. hello. I just got to my hotel here in the panhandle of Oklahoma. It's freezing ass cold here. I just saw that the foldathon ended and those were some very impressive numbers we put up so congrats everyone.
