Just feeling some nostalgia for some Dreamcast games I forgot about playing. Forgot how good this particular soundtrack was.

Definitely need more game music in here. I know I tried Airforce Delta on my DC at one point, but not sure if I still have it anymore. Great game. Anyhoo, here's my contributions.

These are the coffees my fiancee got on her trip to Hawaii. Mid dark roast so they both smell mostly identical to me. I'll try them but I agree 💯 that all dark roasts taste the same, just like really strong coffee. The one in the bag was $30. I'll be trying it tomorrow morning but I don't think I'll be gaga over it like I am with the Stereo.

I should be more grateful snd appreciative that she got them but honey, why'd you get dark? 🤣

Is the Kirkland brand roasted by starbucks?  Historically, I've used Starbucks French or Espresso roasts for a nice dark coffee.  Switched to Kirkland French Roast from Costco a while back and like it much more...and I brew it quite strong.

No clue but slaughtahouse might know.

  4. Yeah the bags half full so I'm having to ration it lol 🤣

Man, it's good. Compared to my original evaluation, having it more now (and with a spoon and a half of sugar and small amount of milk), I realize how fruity it is. It's got a very strong and subtle taste of something like mangos but that's not quite right. And a chocolatey finish in the end of the sip. It's awesome stuff.

My fiancee recently took a work trip to Hawaii (I was unable to go because of my disabilities) and came back with two bags of Kona coffee. One needs to be ground and my Mom (hey, she's very useful) hates doing it even though she has a decent coffee grinder. The other came in a bag with cloth around it.

If you're interested in these I can take photos of what they are.

Also, sun tea soon. We usually do a black tea with peach flavor and add a tiny bit of sugar. Making iced tea is a good way to use up your remaining tea. (BUY Rishi Vanilla Mint Chai!)

When I started folding for EHW about 3 years ago, @Bastiaan_NL was in first place and untouchable.  No one could come close to his PPD.  Once the electric prices significantly increased where he is, he slowed down and eventually stopped folding.  It took a while for me to catch him.

Why's he folding in this foldathon?  I pestered him and somehow convinced him that 2 days of folding wouldn't break the bank 🙂

    😂

Glad you convinced him. And now you're the king of the mountain and untouchable 🙂

Linux is king, but I'm just running on W10 (existing installs) for a quick FAT.

I'm not even sure how the conversation went, but @firedflymentioned the FAT so why not.

I slowed down my folding output two years ago and the last card folding was taken offline around 1.5 years ago. The power is too expensive 🤷‍♂️

The funny thing is for some reason, I can't clock my 4090 higher than about 2940MHz or close to/over 3000MHz in Linux folding or it will lock the machine up. However, in Windows I can do 3090MHz in most games and benches, and the highest I can do is 3135MHz for Superposition. So nothing wrong with using Windows, but I have done 36m points (my record) in a single day in Linux with the clocks I mentioned (2955 max)

I always forget about your guys crazy power costs because of the goddamn war. Makes perfect sense. We pay 6c per kWh. About 0.06 euro.

For now I have a 4090, 3090 and a 3070Ti online. The bottom card shown in the picture (2080Ti) is running like sh..., so sadly will be taken down.

Running a 4090 OC'ed in Linux, and a MSI 3060 Ventus on Win10 in my fiancees machine.

If you're running a 4090, 3090 and 3070ti you will do very well and beat me for sure.

By the way, what inspired you joining the foldathon? I've been doing them since January 2023 and never seen you in one. It's great that you're joining the cause and with a lot of punch. 💯

I'll try to drop a few work units, if I don't fry any cables between my PSU and the 4090

If only I could get all my 20-40 gen cards to run in time....

I know the pain of melting psu cables well too XD

Between you, Nbrock, Flux, and Avacado it will be a tough competition for me. But if you're running those cards you showed as well as a 4090 you'll be out of my league. 🙂

pain comes with a quid pro quo. if you can focus yourself on something else and ignore it, it dont hurt as much i've had this pain for long enough now its just part of life. i built endurance to it over time, and have had very understanding employers along the way.

This is so true. Not only have I also developed a tolerance to the pain from always being in it, but what you said about keeping yourself busy or engaged in something is extremely important, as then you focus on a game or a show or whatever instead of how bad you hurt.

My family always encourages me to do stuff, and a lot of times I don't listen.🫤

  10. I ordered a Raspberry Pi composite cable that plugs into the headphone jack, for the purpose of hooking it up to my CRT tv for arcade games (because they look terrible on a 77" OLED).

It took some manual editing of config files. note to anyone doing this: use an adapter and plug in your SD card to your PC and edit /boot/config.txt. I'm using retropie, and going to the command line with a keyboard on the actual Pi, even with "sudo su" the boot drive doesn't appear to be mounted. It took a while of banging my head against the wall with the CLI on the pi before editing it in my pc made it work.

Anyway, in addition to my consoles we can now do TMNT, X-Men, Windjammers (serious business that game) as well as Cave and Raizing/Eighting games like e.s.p.rade, Dodonpachi Daioujou, Ketsui, Espgaluda, Armed Police Batrider, Battle Garegga and more.

Video quality is not the best and kind of blurry, but it works and the cable was only $8.

  11. Yeah I can see that lol

He's not a construction worker or anything like that, he lives in a large house cheaply with a ton of roomies, they are working (but only on the weekends) on getting him a proper finished room. All his stuff including his pc I built him is in storage atm. He has enough space for a few things like his tv and PS4, but that explains the background (he's living in an unfinished side room).

  12. So I showed the store front and the T-shirt designs to my younger brother, and he liked my design enough to order one:

  13. Thought I'd share one of my biggest treasures, Detana!! Twinbee for PC Engine (aka Turbografx 16) it is a vertical shoot em up but aka "cute em up" as it's very lighthearted and cutesy in style. There's a 9 lives code too and my fiancee and I have cleared it on the PC Engine Core Grafx a couple times. 🙂

This coffee (Stereo Echo) is excellent and one of the best, if not the best unflavored coffees I've ever had. It blows Kicking Horse out of the water.

I used a flat spoon and a heaping spoon of sugar (spoon is pretty small) and about half the amount of milk I usually use. It has a great, very strong and rich coffee taste upon hitting the tongue and drinking it, and notes of cocoa shells and chocolate after you swallow.

I love it but it was $30 for a bag so it will have to be a luxury and used infrequently. Though some of my teas that we re-buy cost that much or more.

Thanks so much for the recommendation and man, after two cups of that I'm wired 😳

To be fair to them, it never broke initially and they did last a good 6 months or so on average.  Some are still fine after near a year.  Perhaps when I put the orings on I damaged them but unless the plastic had hairline cracks in it I missed I just don't see how.  Either way, link to them is below if you wanted to avoid it.

    Brand was "Max Keyboard"

Yeah, I think those clear or semi-translucent keycaps are probably not PBT and maybe not even ABS. I've never used ones like that before, but am unsurprised to hear that they break.

I'll mention again that I have a set of YMDK keycaps that are PBT and I've had them since 2019 at least, possibly earlier. They held up well and none of them broke. Using blue O-Rings on them as well.

XVX is also a good keycap brand. Though, they seem to go by a couple different names, unsurprisingly for a Chinese company on Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/stores/HITIME/page/808737FD-D838-4E23-A2A5-526F35EDB949?ref_=ast_bln

You'll see them referred to as XVX, SDYZ, and on their store page I linked, Hitime.

This link should go directly to keycaps:

    https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/983981B9-9351-42A7-B369-F5129824FA50?ingress=2&visitId=1e1d6486-0797-4b83-b737-4f4805c456a1&ref_=ast_bln

Just search for XVX keycaps on Amazon and you'll see a ton of options. I've used XVX as well as YMDK. Here's my last board with two tone retro themed XVX PBT keycaps.

I drink coffee at maybe a 25:1 ratio to tea for context XD. Yes, I do drink tea from time to time and mostly it’s green or herbal.

Only last year I started to order london fogs from my local coffee shop and decided to try making it at home once we bought that Rocket Appartamento. Which has opened me back up to black teas again.

I definitely will try one of your recommendations. I don’t want this to be one sided of course! I’m still working through my tealish order but next order I’ll check out that chai! 🙂

Additional info - I typically make 4 double shot espressos a day. 2 for me, 2 for my wife. Double shot meaning larger portafilter with ~19-20g of coffee pouring from the double spout per drink, as seen below.

    IMG_1223.thumb.jpeg.1de7fb323659e3d91bf82583db00a450.jpeg

If Im on the road or at the office (flex schedule) I only make 2 double shots and then I order a drink at my local coffee shop. That shop recommended to me to try Stereo and they’re one of the best shops in Toronto IMO.

    The espresso looks amazing.

Also, the tea I mentioned is actually not chai at all, it used to be called vanilla pu erh back in the day. Like 6 years ago or so now they renamed it to vanilla mint chai.

However, it is pu erh tea (aka red tea) that is similar to black tea but not black tea. It has Pu Erh, cinnamon, vanilla bean, mint, and cocoa shells. It tastes most strongly of cinnamon. So fair warning there if you're allergic to cinnamon or anything. This is not a real chai because that comes from India and there are many styles and blends of it, whereas Pu Erh tea is Chinese and this is an artisan herbal blend from a Chinese tea master.

If you want good chai, get Cameron's masala chai. That is a real chai and what I'm drinking every day 90% of the time lately. It's here but not available atm and hasn't been for at least two months. We get it at a grocery store that has loose leaf Cameron's tea in bins that you can put in a bag and pay by weight. (Maybe search around on Google for any place to get their chai in a grocery store or market near you.)

  17. Hey @Slaughtahousedo you ever drink tea besides your london fog tea?

I highly recommend Rishi vanilla mint chai aka vanilla pu erh. Try the 1/4lbs. option. Its loose-leaf so you'll need a tea ball, but I make it in a french press. Also, it's not great on it's own- you're going to need honey for it too. We get ours in a big thing at Costco.

Thought I'd bring it up for you to possibly try since I'm trying the Stereo Echo. 😉 This is the one I make or suggest to people who say they don't like tea, lol.

  18. So it's going to be a while, but I am doing yet another build as a surprise for my cousin. Currently she has a Cooler Master TKL with unbranded Red switches at home, and at work she has my old Corsair K70 Lux with MX reds in it. I figure it's time she had a real keyboard, so we bought:

Keychron K8 Pro white, RGB with aluminum

    Redqin Cat Graffiti keycaps

    WASD blue o-rings

    Kailh Box Jade switches

    Total was $233.

She'll be getting a real keyboard now, lol.
