  1. I pretty much don't play fps games, I suck, but I freaking LOVE UT and especially Onslaught mode. UT3 was great even without community maps, the new alien vehicles were really fun, but UT2004 was like... Just perfect.
  2. Update: I am scheduled for hip surgery on September 8th. I will have to wear a brace and be on crutches for two weeks, as well as do physical therapy twice a week for 12 weeks. After 6 weeks I will have an office visit with my Doctor, and if the surgery on the left helps then I will be sent for a CAT scan on the right hip and get scheduled for surgery on it with the same conditions I stated above, after surgery. I believe the procedure I'm having is called a hip arthroscopy. There was a really bad f up and issue with the imaging, Northwestern health sent the CAT scan data to Stryker in the wrong format. This caused a significant delay of about 6 weeks instead of 2 for my Doctor to have the 3D model of my hip. Either way, I have quite a large mountain to climb, but I'll do it if I can sit and not have pain in the hips. I may not make a full recovery til March, and I may be doing physical therapy through then.
  3. If that's the case, running a 3060 for foldathons myself and seeing how long the WUs take compared to my 4090, I will lower the prize requirement to 5 WUs. Wasn't really taking into account how long modern WUs take because the long ones you're probably getting are the ones that give me like 1.3m points. My 4090 chews through those in an hour and a half. Hope this helps and remember, it's random draw still! GL guys!
  4. Good job so far guys, really rooting for you all especially to beat team OCN. I tried y-cruncher pi 2.5b on my rig, but because I have an X3D chip it is PBO only, no manual ratio. The score was like 40 sec and it gave me an error too, so Flux's subs are way better. Sorry I can't help
  5. White Peony | Rishi Tea & Botanicals RISHI-TEA.COM White Peony, also known by the traditional name Bai Mu Dan, is a popular style of white tea made of young tea... Get a tea ball, or you could do like me and use a French press if you have one. Highly recommended. It's good with or without honey. And damn, drinking every day of the week? Even when I was younger I would just binge at house parties til I vomited. Lol.
  6. Pretty funny. Lol If you guys want to start a separate drinking thread, go ahead. I don't drink anymore as I take benzos, but I used to drink.
  7. Got ENTERPRISE permission to do glitch art of our awesome admin. Sorry, the black and red one is more red than anything because of the way I do these, having black show up just doesn't work, it ends up grey. You've been glitched, man.
  8. Updated 2nd post with a few links. Please suggest more, especially for coffee.
  9. Was interested in Kicking Horse coffee and so just ordered a bag of Smart Ass and a bag of Three Sisters off Amazon. Living in the northern Midwest they probably don't stock these at the local grocery stores. Got em off Amazon, one was $9 and the other was $13. Definitely giving them a shot. Also, @ENTERPRISE@damric@Fluxmaven what powers you guys up in the morning or on long nights?
  10. If you made it for me that way and told me to drink it that way, I would gladly accept and listen. As I kind of stated in my second post in the thread, I really don't know squat about coffee and I drink what is essentially sugary junk, lol. Though much more rarely now. Tea is what I know a lot about and can give recommendations on. And actually have some class with. It's great to see the depth of knowledge here and people's methods of making coffee, though, I think collectively the posters so far could definitely share recommendations on coffee to try or machines to make it with. I'd also like to get some links to coffee companies online, good coffee makers or espresso and cappuccino makers, and so forth into the 2nd *reserved* post.
  11. Thanks for the posts guys. Yeah, I only do looseleaf tea and my favorite is Rishi White Peony (Bai Mu Dan - Chinese tea). It's a white tea, and has a very earthy taste. It is made from tea leaf buds and not processed or oxidized like a green tea. Good with or without honey. My coffee is just drip but from a higher end Cuisinart machine with a single cup brewer. I used to make it in a french press as well, but generally find it too strong that way nowadays. I make my tea in a french press, mainly because it makes enough for two 10oz or so cups. I will look into tealish. Thanks. Eventually I'd like the reserved post to have links to coffee/tea vendor websites. As well as recommendations. I too love the smell of fresh ground coffee, though there's no nostalgia for me or anything. Did you grow up in a coffee shop or something?
  12. As for me, when it comes to coffee I have one cup of either 8 o'clock french vanilla or Dunkin french vanilla every morning. I used to do two but recently figured out it was giving me bad anxiety every morning with two. And of course, I have a ton of coffee in the fridge. Tanzanian Peaberry by EVP coffee (recommended). And a bunch of junkie ones like 8 O'clock brand Mocha Macchiato, Caramel Macchiato and Berres Brothers Mocha mint. We have at least 15 of these junkie things but its way cheaper than getting Starbucks every morning. I take my coffee with sugar and milk. When it comes to tea, I am way more of an afficiando and have several teas I rotate through, usually making it in the afternoon. I drink it for the health benefits, but also because I like it. I am a very big fan of Rishi tea which is based near me in Milwaukee and imports tea from all over the world. I've had every grade of tea- white, green, oolong, pu erh and black. I don't have any oolong currently but have everything else, as well as masala chai. I also like the company Harney and Sons as they are quite a bit cheaper than Rishi, yet have good quality teas in larger amounts. So if anyone is a tea fan feel free to recommend stuff to me and I'll do the same for you.

  14. I'm a little surprised we don't have anything like this already on the forums, especially considering how many mugs have been sold! Since we are all high IQ, smart, classy people I am certain that a lot of people here need a jump start every morning with something caffeinated. So this thread is the thread to discuss coffee and don't forget, tea though it is less popular in the States. Feel free to share recommendations, or just post how you take your morning cuppa Joe. Hoping this is/can be productive and we can relax and share recommendations for others to try. Most of all, enjoy whatever you're drinking to perk you up!
  15. Thanks. So you just latch the socket and push the plastic cover in from the top? I am talking about getting the cover back on the board if I decide to RMA it or sell it. Also, I just tried remounting the CPU and it did not fix the 2nd CCD boosting problem as you and others stated. Guess I'm stuck waiting for a bios update to permanently fix it, as one time when it wasn't boosting a new bios fixed it. (I have already tried reverting to that particular bios with USB bios flashback and it didn't fix my boosting issue. But if I want help with that I will make a new thread.)
  16. I guess you hold the bracket upright with your fingers and push the thing in with your thumbs from underneath or something then?
  17. Nope. I had a 3900x in 2019, then a 5900x last year, so it would have to be a 7900x because I'm not losing threads. The wife also is sick of buying stuff for me and so cannot afford a 7950x (we can afford it but she won't agree to it). This thread had gone way off topic. Does anyone know how to reattach a plastic socket cover to the mounting bracket? This is not just for possibly remounting the CPU but also in case I get a new board and sell this one, or sell it in the future when I upgrade. Thanks. @damric@The Pook@Fluxmaven
  18. Lmao. No I'm not using it. I'm not that stupid, ty. I am using a Seasonic Vertex GX 1200w gold with a proper 12VHPWR cable. Besides, this issue was happening with that old psu, and persists with the new one. We've even tried reinstalling Windows and that doesn't fix it when this issue is happening. I may just end up getting a 7900x instead, other than that I might just have to wait for a bios fix.
  19. I'm remounting it as a last ditch effort to get the damn thing to boost to 5.6GHz on the 2nd CCD like it used to. The socket cover acts as a guide to align the chip and pops out when the retention bracket and arm are lowered with the cpu installed. It says so in my motherboard manual. And I've tried everything to try and get the damn thing boosting for benchmarking. Its happened twice, when I first got it the 2nd CCD would hit 5650 running benchmarks, then after a month it just stopped one day. Eventually, a bios flash made it work again, but only for a month or two, then it stopped again and no bios flashes or troubleshooting I did with both Asus and AMD has fixed it. I really suspect that the boost clock limit for the first CCD with V-Cache is being applied to the whole chip by this "AMD 3D V Cache Optimizer service", two of which are running on my system and get installed with the chipset driver. So my second chiplet will not go above 5150MHz, which is the max for the first chiplet.
