The Great Mouse Debate.

Hi Guys.

 

I've been using a deathadder 2013 since well.....2013..... 

 

its showing its age, both in use and software, synapse 2.0 interferes with quite a few games i play, which makes me force close it constantly to the point its annoying.

 

use wise, part of the top shell has become glossy where my hand rests, my left-click has become mushy and sometimes double clicks with no audible noise from it, and my bac/forward button on the side have become mush aswell. the grips have become uncleanable aswell.

 

i need something thats a worthwhile replacement. and you may all sneer at it but for once id like to go wireless. as the new desk i have isnt very...wire friendly.

 

any reccomendations would be appreciated.

I have had 0 luck getting wireless to perform well enough to ditch a wired one. Connectivity issues/hiccups and lag.

Wireless mice are as good as wired now (if you get a decent price be and don't have connectivity issues). I have a Logitech G305 and it works pretty much flawlessly for me.

My brother uses a Logitech G Pro Wireless, it's a bit expensive but he's really satisfied with it.
As for lag and connection issues, he's doing pretty good on CoD Warzone with it, winning a few games here and there

i figured it was close if not on par, the G705 is looking like a good idea for middle of the road.

I'll throw my two cents in. I've gone through a lot of Logitech mice over the years (for whatever reason they only seem to last a little over two or three years for me), including four wireless ones: G700S, G900, G602, and the new G604. My main three that I use now are the latter of the four wireless ones, and I've never had any wireless connectivity issues with them. Wireless has pretty much become a requirement for new mice for me. Definitely recommend Logitech mice since the hardware and software are both pretty good imo. Plus they seem to last longer for everyone other than me, so that's a bonus for your consideration.

I own 2 of the G700s, best mouse I have ever owned in terms of form fitting my hand.

Absolutely, until I got the G604, the G700S was the best mouse I'd ever owned and I was super bummed when it started malfunctioning. The G604 is only slightly better, but they're both fantastic.

What are your use cases? For twitch fps like CS, my last experience with wireless several years ago wasn't so good.  I believe it was the MX Master.  I'm still using a G502 to this day, but would like to unplug.

I bought the wireless mouse I have now specifically for fps games like cs. I don't really play cs anymore but the mouse works great. If you watch the video I linked it shows that wireless mouse tech is basically on par with wired mice now.

Lots and lots of general use in browsers and whatnot, and as far as games go, I play a bit of everything. I don't regularly play games that are super click-intensive (ARPGs, MOBAs), but I do play shooters somewhat regularly, but not super competitively. That being said, I've never had tracking with really fast-paced games like Warframe, which is my most played game on Steam. All of my mice have kicked the bucket by developing some clicking issue (other than the Corsair mouse that lasted a whole month): double clicking, not being able to hold the button down for click-and-drag, or something of that nature. I've tried to clean each one and it's prolonged the life of the mouse by a little bit but the issue always returns shortly and I get a new mouse.

Glorious Model O Wireless is a good option for you. I've been using one since release and haven't had any trouble with it. I had been using a wired Model O before that and it was a pretty easy transition for me.

 

I chose Glorious over Logitech mainly because they are less expensive, but I also found their customer support to be fantastic. I haven't had one of their products go bad on me, but they are very responsive to users in their Discord. They've answered all of my questions and I see them taking good care of other users as well.
