Backplates still stuck in France...

It is a bit confusing that it takes so long, because I ordered something from the States and it was here in a week and something from Germany was here the next day. I hope you'll get them asap!

Since the i/o brackets are sized to the stock heatsink, replacement 980ti brackets were ordered. Should fit onto the water blocks.

Once you are done you could sell those cards as 980ti's :classic_laugh:

0/2 on deliveries. Look at this BS. In my mailbox today was that BS letter. And a picture of my driveway. You couldn't turn around? How about backing up into my driveway...

So if they can't figure out how to back up seeing as how they needed to turn around and there is no pickup date listed on the slip, how the * am I supposed to get my package?

That's lovely.  I'm on a rural route so USPS delivery drivers are contractors, and the new person for the last few years refuses to deliver any of my packages.  I always have to go to the PO to pick them up.  Supposedly my driveway is too steep (dude drives a new 4-door Wrangler), but UPS has no problems driving their giant 2-wheel drive delivery van up to my house.

I am on a rural route as well. I have seen both contractors and regular USPS drivers. The thing is, I have had hundreds of packages delivered just fine until yesterday. I hope it was just my normal driver being out and the one filling in was behind and lazy.

Caveat: I actually worked as a USPS clerk a few years back during the holiday season for some extra cash. I know how it can be there sometimes.

Ha!

So, this morning, I moved both cars to the garage, to open up our round about driveway. I left a message on that same note saying, moved cars, we are home and put it in the box. I watched the guy come, take that letter out of our mailbox and leave. No package. * is happening?

Project on hold for a bit. I realized there was no way the 7 slot water bridge would connect the 5 cards with their backplates. Hell, it doesn't even have room without them due to screw sizes. So I have ordered 2 different watercooling friendly chassis to replace the current plexiglass one that actually has a crack in it. So no way around it, will still have to be on 16x risers if I want to have backplates (Which I want). I will have the last 2 waterblocks on by this weekend and will have to re-mount everything into one of these new cases. Should take me another 2-3 weeks.

Case option #1, reminds me of a Mountain Mods chassis, which I wanted bad.

Case1.jpg.82b28480f3044fad3841e9c520026536.jpg

Case option #2

Case2.thumb.jpg.2d6ff7a260c0227337cf33e1565c965f.jpg

I have also ordered supplies, tools and material to create my own radiator mounts. Will be able to rivet and add panels where needed. I have always wanted to experiment with that.

Tools2.thumb.png.dc53cafc3996fa42bc09d15264786fba.png

Some goodies from PPCS as well. Will use those 2x240's probably on option 1.

I should have been following this build a little closer.  I had assumed you were definitely using risers, since you have dual slot I/O brackets.  The GPU Multi-Link XL 8-Way should work for 4 of the cards, with only the 5th card on it's own.  If you want to split them out a bit further you could use a pair of dual link bridges

I know, I figured it out too late. Since I already bought those 2 cases, it's moot now, but I will try and replace the stock screws for the waterblocks with the flat head replacements. It might just allow for me to place them 5 side by side. But with that, the RAM won't be able to breathe. It's all good in the hood.  I bought those I/O brackets but planned on not using them and the board was mounted horizontal and I was going to secure them with the waterbridge.

Running single slot always makes me a bit nervous, but I've never tried it with back plates. As long as the top of the block is all acetal/acrylic it's no big deal if the blocks touch, as long as the screws for the top of the block are a bit recessed.

It can put a bit of stress on the GPU PCB and/or the slot, but it has the added benefit of opening up a bit of a gap for some air movement.

I like how you symmetrically arranged the GPU's ;) That's a lot of motherboards and stuff. What's the plans with all of those?

Actually getting ready to list 2 of them on OCN soon.

From left to right. X399 1900x, X399 1900x, Z270 8700k, Z390 9900k

I plan to swap the 9900k into the z390 board and then sell the Z390-p with the 9700k that is in the rig running in the background. Should have 3 x399 platforms running by the end of the summer with a Z390 in the office. Will be looking to dump the rest.

I will try. However it will have to be an OC with no added voltage. In afterburner, even with voltage control enabled, the slider to increase the juice is dulled out. I can raise and lower the core and MEM, but I can't give it any juice. Will have to see what I can achieve with stock voltage. I had planned on looking into the issue 2 months ago, but got bogged down.

Ahh bummer, yeah of course. Well volt modding them would be a PITA and in reality, you do not know what gain you would get for such an involved task. Fingers crossed there is some headroom with the stock volts.

Have you ever pulled a bios from the card, moded it, and then flashed it back on? I used to do that quite a bit, but not after GTX 1xxx and never with Tesla, but I imagine the process would be the same. Also, can you see the temps for your mem and vrm's?
