for the most part the little spikes are the m1. the big big spike was a 3090. the newest spike was my 2070s. i can't hfm.net to the mac mini reliably. heck, i can barely get any folding client even locally to talk to the core itself reliably, its weird. so i can't get good ppd numbers.

maybe. i ran benchmarks and collected data already. i just don't have a good spin that feels interesting enough to write about. i've been using it as my tv computer that replaced my shieldtv. its been working great as that plus it kicks-ass at emulation. that might be a neat angle to go about for the review.

man, my mac mini is just getting 10hr work unit after 10hr work unit. i need to get more machines folding to compensate! 

 

EDIT: its about like 50-80k PPD btw on all 8 cores (4 performance 4 efficiency) and that is ~15 watts ish and this is the cheapest m1 mac mini with 8GB ram and the small internal storage. might maybe be a good thing to buy a ton of and stick in a closet and just have crunch crap LOL

It would take you roughly 280w to get 1.5 million PPD (with 80k per mac), something a 150w 1660ti can do too.
I do like the idea though, imagine having 20 of them in a closet

Mine is rather weird - I can max out the memory slider for memory OC (+1000mhz) but I can barely get +75mhz stable on the core (around 2030-2040mhz). Mines under a waterblock mind you so temps not an issue but even the stock air cooler has some great VRM/VRAM cooling and monitoring.

For folding? I ONLY run a core OC while folding. MEM OC does nothing to help folding. What kind of core OC can you get with stock MEM?

The only thing a MEM OC does is increase the chance of a faulty work unit. So I do the same as @Avacado, only overclock the Core and leave the Memory alone. There will be more power left for the core too, so it might just boost/clock a little higher too!
