soooo, I think I am going to have to put Linux on this ETF machine. It currently has windows 10 home and it is constantly rebooting for freaking auto-updates. It is driving me nuts. Sorry for the inconsistent points for the time being, but it always seems to think it is a great time to reboot while I am at work. There may be a day later this week where I am down for a few hours while I install Ubuntu or a similar distro. Would you like to coordinate a substitute for the down time, or do you guys think it will be fine? Let me know 🙂

I have Ubuntu 20.04 setup as a dual boot on everything, but you could always turn off the updates, or set everything to start folding on reboot.

What's going on with you guys? I see @Hacksword has zero points this month. If you need a card, I have a few low power cards I can spare for your team that have good handicaps and overclock very well. Freebies, just pay the shipping.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I really should check on the stats site more often. I'll bug him on Discord tomorrow morning; I don't think he checks on the forums too often.

Yeah it could be something simple like he has the wrong folding key on that slot.

Let your captain know if you run into any issues again so he can do a temporary substitution for you to keep the points rolling. Life happens, things break, ect, so no worries.

  • 5 weeks later...

I noticed that I'm suspiciously ahead with my 1070 Ti in ETF so I had a look, and sure enough, my stupid self didn't switch passkeys back to my default on my 2080 Ti when I made the GPU swap for the competition. I know my OC on my 1070 Ti is pretty good, but it's not "1070 Ti + 2080 Ti" good. I swapped passkeys off so I should be set up correctly now. What do you guys want to do in regards to the idiotic lead I've amassed already?

I'll look into it when I get back from vacation. Most likely we can substitute your normal daily average for the messed up days. I remember messing up mine like that before and BWG fixed it.

It should be pretty easy to sort out.  Just need to parse the logs from the start of this month to when you removed the passkey, add up the points for the slot with your 2080ti, and then subtract it from your total.  The credit estimate in the logs is usually really close to the awarded credit.

@Supercrumpet if you want to attach your logs, I can give them a little grep-fu.

-EDIT-

If you're running Linux here's an easy one liner.  Just substitute in the correct slot number.

journalctl --utc --since "2022-04-03" -g 'FS00.*points'

That PC is on Windows and since folding is very much a secondary thing on that PC, I don't even know if I have HFM on it. Can you pull logs from the base F@H software?

Otherwise I'd be fine with just using averages. Sorry for putting extra work on you guys.

No worries on any extra work, it's pretty much just a one liner from the log file.

The client stores all the logs locally, and you shouldn't need HFM.  I haven't folded on Windows in something like 8 years, but unless something has changed, the logs should be in the FAHClient data folder at:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient

Believe it or not, I don't have that folder. It just doesn't exist. I Googled around for the file path and it appears that what you posted is correct, but I can't find and F@H data on my computer outside of the installation folder.

By default the AppData folder is hidden.  Is it just the FAHClient folder that is missing, or can you not see your AppData folder at all?

You can also navigate to the AppData folder by pressing Winkey+R, and then typing %APPDATA% in the Run box.

That's how I navigated to the AppData folder, it was only the FAHClient folder that was missing. I tried showing hidden folders as well just in case and nothing changed.

You want me to just estimate? I can change your points for that day from 24million to 6.5million. zodac told me to just manually subtract 17.5 million. If that seems fair I'll go ahead and do that.

  • 2 weeks later...

Surprise, I made the same mistake but in a completely different way. When I popped the 3070 Ti in my 24/7 folding rig (evening of the 17th), I checked my passkey to be sure this wouldn't happen, but naturally I checked in the wrong place and points must once again be rolled back. I fixed it a few hours ago on my end, apologies once more.

Well, I hate to say it, but it looks like my 1060 just totally bit the dust. No video output and obviously not able to fold. I am going to try and see what I can do, but it looks like it is going to be down for now 😞

Well, I hate to say it, but it looks like my 1060 just totally bit the dust. No video output and obviously not able to fold. I am going to try and see what I can do, but it looks like it is going to be down for now 😞

You're a wildcard on the team so you could switch to something else if you have it available. Let me know and I'll key it into the database.

I have a 1050 going now.

Well dang, sorry to hear about the 1060. At least it went out doing good work. Thanks for getting another card swapped in so quickly, and thanks @damric for helping with the swap.
