Sooo confused....

Ok,I ran across an add showing Intel is giving away free copies of amazon delivery boy Err I mean "Death Stranding" with the purchase of certain 10th or 11th gen cpu's. So,I looked at them outta curiosity. seriously? a $200 price increase between the i7-11700k and the i9-11900k and the only real difference I'm seeing is the i9 has a .3 (POINT 3) greater max clock speed? SAME = Cores,threads,L3cache,Manufacturing tech, memory support, graphics, pci, ect. Are people really that desperate for the "latest greatest" that they will pay that much more for that little? If this is Intel's latest, greatest, then I'm not surprised they feel the need to give away a monotonous game to try to boost the sales of a previous generation of cpu's. I think it's sad they had to drop back to 8 cores on the i9 in the 11th gen when they had 10 cores the previous gen.

...some people will always pay that premium for the "latest greatest", though personally, I would skip Rocket Lake altogether and wait for Alder Lake.  If I would have to build now, I would prefer a 10-core 10900K...unless PCIe 4.0 would really be a must for the build (multiple, fast storage, or dual PCIe 4 GPUs which would drop to PCIe 4 x8, which in turn equals PCIe 3 x16)

yeah, i saw that also. I just couldn't see how anyone could really justify to themselves the price difference between the 11700k and the 11900k.

We actually have an article coming soon based on the 11900K and I can echo that that the 11900K seems a little nonsensical.
