Microsoft and Apple Wage War on Gadget Right-to-Repair Laws

Twenty-seven states considered such bills in 2021. More than half have already been voted down or dismissed, according to consumer groups tracking the proposals. To advocates of these bills, the current repair system is a major reason why we cycle through personal devices so quickly, furthering the environmental impact of these gadgets.

Whoops I had it backwards. Wasn't sure if the bills are to protect the right to repair or if they're bills aimed at blocking people's right to repair but now I see they're pro repair bills. I'm definitely pro repair.

lol, I was just about to ask why U were against also. I ran across a similar story a little while back. It had the guy from NY in it,but less coverage of the other states. This * REALLY needs to be pushed through.3rd party is the only way to bring the prices of all of them within reason, they know once 3rd parties are allowed to do repairs they won't be able to get away with 6 week repairs that cost half the price of the product after shipping fees.?

Ok, yeah was going to ask why one would be against repair. ;)

The Apple of iPhone battery throttling infamy is involved after all. You can safely assume the other side would be in favor of the consumers.
