Seems to be about 5-12% faster for an extra $100.

Of minimal performance increase over the 3070 for much more money. As egregious as the 3080Tie? No. But still of bad value.

I think people are just scambling to get -anything- ... regardless of MSRP.

My thought as well. Worried now what a new generation say several years from now when things are back to normal might look like price wise if people are willing to spend anything now. Nvidia definitely kicking themselves for $699 price for a 3080.

I do actually have a theory of 699 price, I think Nvidia was compensating itself via Marketing budget in order to fight with AMD as AMD is currently locking Intel a corner and next will be Nvidia with the current progress AMD is making

 

thus said, I was one of those people ready to buy 3080ti from evga, until I got help from one of our local shops who managed to get me 3080

That was a great read, thank you. Any shots of the PCB length vs the cooler length? Seems the cooler has been a bad measure of PCB lengths this gen with all the passthrough designs.

I can't believe the spawning of various Ampere models (most of which one can't buy), it's getting a bit confusing   Anyway, I'm glad I updated when and with what I did...good to go for a few years (famous last words ?)
