Multiple reports suggest Gigabyte's GP-P750GM and GP-P850GM power supplies could be at high risk of serious malfunction or failure. In some cases, these PSUs have even been going out with a literal bang.

 

The issue was first noted by well-known PSU reviewer Aristeidis Bitziopoulos in his review for TechPowerUp in late 2020. In this review, he concludes that "Contrary to the Aorus PSU line, which was surprisingly good, this one is a disappointment…. For starters, my sample died during the over power evaluation, which is a great shame. The primary switching FETs blew up with a hell of a bang."

I watched the full Gamers Nexus vid the other day and was impressed by how many they tested and how they also did the statistics on the reviews. They did a pretty thorough job of covering it I thought. Saying that,it shouldn't have had such a failure rate from a company like Gigabyte.I could ALMOST see those kinda stats from a no name 38 week delivery ali-express power supply, but GIGABYTE?? Makes me scared of any of their products 'till they fix this.

I enjoy lots of the Gamers Nexus coverage to be honest. Their coverage of this particular issue I thought was handled well. It is bad that the issue exists but worse that Gigabyte and Newegg are being somewhat shady. Newegg obviously know these units were suspect but push them out anyway. Gigabyte is bad for not forcing a recall from Newegg.

Same, they really tried to do a good test with enough test samples. 
It's sad that they care so little about the consumers, problems like this can cause some significant damage..

I just left this in the video's comment section, maybe people will take advantage of it.  "Reporting an unsafe product is very important. The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission compiles these reports and uses them when investigating whether a product should be recalled. In those instances, your experience is often not uncommon and might eventually be traced back to a manufacturer's negligence. https://www.cpsc.gov/ Please forward the data in the video to these people so this wreck can maybe be forced to be recalled. "  I ALSO posted the info on the newegg reviews page. Wonder if it'll go through and if it'll last.

Yeah it is a load of crap to be honest. Rather than address it and fix it, they just change some parameters. That is NOT a fix to what clearly looks to be a hardware design fault.
