Hardline Fittings

Looking at 14mm hardline fittings in gold - mainly looking at PerformancePCs.

 

A lot off stuff appears to be out of stock, so looking for options and to make sure I am not getting something bad.

 

I know @Avacado likes the Bykski anti-off ones with the large single o-ring. The problem I have with these is that while the 14mm does look gold, the corresponding 12mm and 16mm gold fittings look more orange so making me wonder if its just a bad photo.

I then saw another model from Bykski and one from Barrow that looks like the kind of gold finish I want, but obviously different o-ring style. Not sure if either of these are any good? (Nevermind on thee Barrow, I see it is now out of stock).

Lastly, saw Bitspower, but was unsure given the small compression rings, but its really just about the o-rings with hardline right? Also these are "true brass", but look gold to me in the pictures? Not sure.

They look gold to me. I can see where the 12mm fittings are closer to Orange, but the 14mm ones look gold imo. 

 

My choice? BP true brass 100%. I only like the Anti-off fittings because I do crazy ass bends that put a lot of strain on the fittings. BP True brass are of much higher quality. As Arch stated, the BP fittings are polished brass 100%.

I'm not an expert, as you are already aware, but from my limited experience, any fitting "painted" or "plated" a particular color isn't going to hold that color well unless handled extremely carefully (little bits will flake off even when tightened or loosened by hand).  So, I might suggest picking the brand/style of fitting you like best (assuming availability) and then being prepared to paint them all to match, with the option to repaint/touchup in the future (assumes you pick a readily available and consistently colored paint).

 

The Bitspower's you linked last appear to be straight up polished brass to me, no "coloring" whatsoever.  For some reason, the naked brass finish appeals to me the most.

Thank you both, that really helps. I think I'll just grab the Bitspower then along with some 90's and maybe an extension or two.

No worries. The BP fittings are great, but also very expensive. The Bykski fittings have never failed during multiple iterations of builds. They still come HIGHLY recommended and are very affordable. They are also the most forgiving fittings I have ever worked with (But you knew that :)).

So looking at this, the 6-pack Bitspower works out to $5.99/fitting while that Bykski is $6.99. So guess it works out. Looking at other fittings though, they definitely screw you on the 90's. Looked that up and it was $20 lol. So for those I might look outside Bitspower. I don't know...bonus time is March so got some time to figure out what else I am ordering to finish this damn thing.

If you're willing to spend the money and deal with the headache, Optimus makes some if not the best quality fittings.

I'll take a look again. Don't think they had the color I wanted. I don't do arrgeebee.

Yeah they are limited in colours and only have pictures of the silver atm for some reason. They really are incompetent in some aspects. frustratingly so
