Odd.  I always thought that Micron/Crucial should have an advantage in the DRAM market since, similar to Intel, they had their own fab facilities, but that hasn't always worked out for Intel either .  I realize Micron hasn't indicated they are vacating the DRAM market, but it still feels strange for them to EOL their flagship product series without immediately announcing a "successor" product.

Hmmm. This is sad and a really odd move. As already stated, there is no successor mentioned ? I highly doubt they are moving out of the DRAM market, unless all of a sudden they are moving all focus to NAND only.

Odd news. One has to wonder if their ventures into SSD has been more profitable, and that they are going to devote the resources to that.

There ssds are pretty mid range. So i can't see them focusing on ssds. Maybe they are getting rid of the crucial name.

 

They need to stop using that QLC for most of their stuff. And make some high end Pcie 4.0/5.0 TLC ssds.
