Hello and welcome from the ExtremeHW Podcast Crew!

The podcast is currently available on Youtube, Spotify, AnchorFM, Google Podcasts, Breaker Audio and Radio Public. In the future we plan to go live on YouTube where you will be able to hang out and chat, and of course listen to the crew talk about everything from tech news and video games to fine candy culture! Of course, we'll be taking on guests as well! So if you want to hop on to the show and join us for a guest spot, feel free to send me a PM!

Today we will be discussing the new YouTube Terms of Service, VR for cows, Google Stadia's failed launch and even tangents about nerf guns and lots of things that tread the line!

Man you guys crack me up ! Thanks for making my Wednesday. Also this may be a controversial thing to say but true gamers will not use Google Stadia. So many factors involved in delivering a dependable service to the masses which only degrades the overall quality of the game being played. Broadband has come a long way but we have further to go with regards to having a dependably game stream arrive to our homes without so much compression that it makes the game look odd.

Gameplay footage of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Google Stadia in 4K looks a lot worse than it does on the original Xbox One that runs at supposedly much lower graphics "settings" (if you can call them that) as well as much lower resolution. I really have no idea how Google thought they could get this to work at this point in time. Especially with their ludicrous claims such as having negative input latency and doing the old bait and switch as far as games go. They sold it under "you don't need to buy games, just pay the subscription" then as soon as it launched it turns out you needed to pay the subscription and then still pay full price for games.

I wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being a class action lawsuit over Stadia with the amount of things they promised but failed to deliver. It's almost as bad of a PR nightmare as Fallout 76.

I would love to try it when it's like $7-8 next year so I can just see what it does on my line (1500 down / 1000 up). I bet even then it will lag / compressed.

The compression (like I went over a few times in the podcast lol) really is what irks me the most to be honest. Especially because almost no one else seems to be talking about it.

I think the whole concept is great so far as streaming games to your TV....but the infrastructure to give you a full gaming experience (No compress/minimal lag) is just not here yet. It will be interesting if the platform survives, if it does then I think the audience will be those with great internet connection. The vast majority of people whether it be due to affordability or local availability will not have the level of connection to make Google Stadia a worthwhile subscription, we already subscribe our lives away as it is.
