your monitor has firmware updates just like your BIOS has updates on your motherboard, if you are having strange connection loss issues or anything

 

UPDATE YOUR MONITOR FIRMWARE

 

i just walked someone through this process before he drove 2 hours to bring me his GPU for testing.

 

his monitor was 6 firmware versions behind. he did an update to it and has had no issues since!

 

i know i sound like a broken record, but alot of us forget these things as we go about our daily lives.

 

and yes, i know not all cheaper monitors offer it, but usually anything over $500 does

I have never thought to update a monitor firmware. I will have to learn how to do it. I have a Dell SE2717 that is freesync. 48-75hz I think. But I managed to OC the monitor and increase the range to 45-81hz. Think a firmware update might improve that?

firmware updates for monitors usually solve latency/connection issues. image quality and color accuracy. overclockingi  cant say. but you may get more accurate picture and in rare cases better response times
