According to the leaker, NVIDIA RTX 4090 now apparently has a base and boost clocks. It is revealed that RTX 4090 has 2235 MHz base and 2520 MHz boost with 2750 MHz actual clock (such as in-game clock).

Those numbers are impressive once compared to the existing RTX 3090 SKU. The base clock alone is 60% increase (vs 1395 MHz) and boost clock is 49% higher (vs 1695 MHz). That’s indeed a noticeable upgrade over Ampere series.

Given that RTX 4090 has a rumored 16384 CUDA core spec configuration, this means that with said ‘actual’ clock speed of 2750 MHz the card’s compute performance could reach 90 TFLOPS in single-precision workload. That’s almost exactly twice as high as RTX 3090 non-Ti.

Folding monster for sure if the rumour is true!

  • bonami2 changed the title to GeForce RTX 4090 with possible 2520 MHz boost clock

Definitely excited to see what next gen PC GPUs will do now that they've had a good amount of time to get into more mature RT and AI tech. Very curious to see what AMD does to catch up, or if they will catch up on those fronts and I suspect they will.

We are due with something new. Got stuck with serie 1000 for so long and now serie 3000.

Wonder what amd will release. Their driver for windows are really bad for folding.  The average online is like 3x the ppd on linux.

For gaming i can't complain everything run good. 😃
