Got this up and running last night. Had one pretty substantial leak from the fitting on the top radiator which was running down the tube and dripping right on the GPU... Was a new fitting with a new O-ring IDK if it got pinched or what. Drained the loop and swapped in another new fitting and it doesn't leak now. Managed to get a score on the board so now it's going to sit for a few weeks while other things are happening. This build will get the 2080 from upstairs and an 11900k. Working on custom vinyl decals and going to run Mayhems UV black coolant to round out the aesthetic.

I just like to rinse GPUs with distilled water to clean them off 😂

I fiddled with the OC for a while before posting a valid sub. Couldn't get it stable above 5.3. Even tried per core with only the first two at 5.4 and it just didn't want to be stable no matter how much voltage I threw at it. So I stayed at 5.3 all core and got my 3200cl14 b-die kit to run at 4533 18-18-18-32. Even with looser timings it didn't want to run 4600+

When I get this build setup with the 11900k I'll spend a bit more time trying to dial it in further.

Been thinking about the sim rig lately and decided instead of making any actual progress getting it setup, I'd add a new seat. Purple NRG Prisma with the glitter on da back. X to the Z Xzibit you've just been pimped. 🤣 Got it mounted to the Playseat frame and put it back in the corner for now. Gotta pull everything from the upstairs living room down here to paint up there. Once paints done, I can put everything where it's actually going to go and set up the sim rigs. We'll have 2 car setups, a flight sim, and the VR all in one room. My roommate is going more F1 focused on his rig and picked up this dope Ferrari wheel.

Oh no an MTV show is scripted and totally fake??? Color me surprised 🤣

I really like the seat. The stock seat that came with the Playseat frame just didn't really fit me well and I bought it used so it already had some noticeable wear. I was considering going with the pink and teal leopard print but I'm happy with the purple and glitter lol.

  • 2 months later...

So I'm finally making some progress on the sim rig. Dropped the 11900k in a while ago, still need to do all the decals and swap the GPU. Decided to stick with one ecosystem and ditch the Logitech gear in favor of an all Thrustmaster setup. Picked up a TS-PC Racer Ferrari 488 Challenge Edition. I bought one TSS handbrake/sequential shifter that I have configured as a handbrake currently. Not sure if I want to get an H-pattern shifter or just another one of these to use as a sequential. Can't really drift with the paddle shifters on the wheel. Need to figure out a better pedal mounting solution since the mounting plate on this older Playseat Evolution isn't large enough to hit the mounting holes on the Thrustmaster pedals. I jerry rigged it with big ass washers just to test it out and 2 minutes into clutch kicks and chill the pedals came off 🤣

So, I've got a bit more to buy and other stuff to install but she's coming together finally.

So it's been a while since I updated this. My roommate decided maybe we should stop being nerds and have a more "normal" main living room so He'll just pull his sim rig out when he wants to use it and mine migrated upstairs to the home theater.

image.thumb.jpeg.e883d6551814d3c532feca6196dc9ee4.jpeg

Doesn't look like I ever mentioned it but I added a Simagic TB-1 Handbrake a while ago.

image.thumb.jpeg.678116c864d7a653890e1a2cade52626.jpeg

I've had a 3080 Ti and a nice Aquacomputer block for it for a long time... Probably around a year now 😂

Finally put the block on and swapped it into the PC. I also swapped in a spicy kit of Trident Z Royal 4800cl17 in the beautifully tacky Nigerian prince gold.

image.thumb.jpeg.6e1df10df2a9374218a670ca1d24eec7.jpeg

I managed to order the correct "extended" block but the standard length backplate 🙃

But it works good and now the sim rig is complete until I get the itch to upgrade the whole cockpit/frame since drunk me tends to bend the bracket the handbrake is mounted on. If I actually start using it more I might pick up the direct drive wheel base but I'd rather dump money in my real cars before spending any more on this.

I actually really like that industrial look of the Aquacomputer block.

You had me at the Pete The Cat sticker

It's actually a Marchal logo. Since it's a race sim I was going to cover it with vintage motorsports sponsorship logos.
