You are right tho, i used it just for testing. I disabled it now.

The problem is ram. Few days or weeks its stable and the other day it just freezes on me for no reason. It begins with mouse tracking issues which after a reboot disappear.

The latest BIOS completely locked up for me so i send this info with video to Gigabyte for them to send it to Taiwan.

I already put an add on my AMD system man, if i can get a good price i will sell it and buy Intel. I am done beta testing for AMD, sorry not sorry.

It's unfortunate you can't figure it out; did you try everything we suggested?

Either running it totally at stock, or do your RAM OC but back off on curve optimizer values?

I did figure it out, its the AMD AGESA Code. These problems date back to my 1600x chipset x370 era. Same issues, different platform. Idk why AMD has so much problems with system memory. They will figure it out eventually but it takes too long. This is why the platform lasts longer than Intel cos they need the time to solve their problems.

I don't mind beta testing but give me the product for free and i test for ya and provide feedback. It is not okay to use people as beta testers for an product that should be finished already.

Intel has none of these issues on DDR5 so its not DDR5, its the laziness of AMD "engineers"

Sorry for the rant but this is how i feel about it. I just don't like it being screwed and AMD is most certainly doing that. I am 100% sure they can fix this but they simply do not care it seems.

One last thing I did wonder about, did you check your system latency with LatencyMon? If you get extremely high latency based on a system driver, it will eventually hang your system and even force it to reboot. Latency can also be related to the Firmwares and BIOS and it may point you in the right direction.

Granted you feel it is your RAM OC, and it could very well be but LatencyMon can give you a real insight to your system. I actually experienced this a couple weeks back and really messed me up as I thought it was my RAM OC, when as a matter of fact it seems to be my 10G LAN driver (Aquantia) that was pulling the whole system down, but it acted as if it was an unstable OC. I did not see it until I ran LatencyMon. Maybe give that a go even if you are switching to Intel, at least then you learned something haha.

That is a valid point. Do you have the same LAN than me? I have Realtek 2.5G.

What latencymon program you talking about? Google search showed me several lol. Can you post a link plz.?

OH i did learn a lot with AMD man i can tell you that lol. I mean, if even the Engineers don't know you know there is a real problem lol.

AMD is just too sensitive to EVERYTHING. Its ridiculous.

@Hurricane28 ...how many USB connections are you using on your board ? Along with LAN and certain AMD GPU drivers, a full / near-full house of USB has created the freeze-up for a lot of AMD users (mostly pervious gen, though). If you have a few USB you don't always need (ie. printer), I would see if reducing the number of USB would help in any way.

In general, every once in a while one gets a system that makes no 'rhyme or reason' re.  hangs, crashes and freeze-ups. I had an Intel 5960X (8C/16T HEDT) on an Asus ROG which I named 'nemesis' - it would do the freeze-up once or twice a month no matter what OC setting; I finally donated that board, CPU and Corsair Platinum DDR4...

I remember that too! I had that same exact problem, idk why but it happened.

I do have na ROG keyboard, might be that ROG and Aorus clash with each other lmao.

On the other hand, why adding so much USB ports when you can only use partial of it xD Kinda stupid imo and says something about AMD quality imo.

Like i said, if i can get good price i am Intel man, i am so done with these AMD issues and quirks.

On a different topic:

No AGESA 1.1 yet for my board, the Asus ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming Wifi.

There's a testing version of it, I thought I would share this link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19gqxeeAdUmkwgE0EvH4MlJ7meeDbEHYP-FHYW-PMyOk/htmlview#

This has basically every BIOS for Zen 4 that's been released including old ones with voltage control and ratio overclocking for X3D chips, as well as BIOS without the 1.3v SoC restriction.

My mobo has the ability to downgrade BIOS using the regular EZ Flash tool in the BIOS, no need to put it on a thumb drive and rename it for USB BIOS flashback. Dunno if you guys with Aorus boards can do the same.

Just figured I'd share, hope this helps.

I tested with everything and it was stable so idk how to test. I mean, so many people have the same with AMD that nothing seems stable and no one know what its causing.

I don't agree with Jay that many times but he doe shave some valid points here.

I mean, the problems are here since x370 era and they still haven't fixed or done anything to fix it.

Takes them forever to get their thing together and i am done being a beta tester for AMD man.

Sorry this is happening to you. Ryzen has been great to me with a 3900x, 5900x and now a 7900X3D.

If you're going to sell it, then please don't drag us down here with the constant complaining and multiple "amd beta tester" comments.

Good to hear for you, makes one of the few actually without issues.

I am not constant complaining, i provide feedback as well and i did do numerous of testing and post results here too.

The "AMD beta tester" was a joke T-shirt of a friend from the US who also had issues and went Intel.

No, hurricane you're wrong. I have my own issues with AMD and with my 7900X3D. I am fairly certain I explained them both before while you were posting here. I'll go over it again.

Basically, when I first got the setup it was awesome: I could set Windows Power Plan to Balanced and the V-Cache CCD would be prioritized, the chipset installer modifies this power plan and you need to have that one selected and a few other things for V-Cache to work in games. With PBO that 1st CCD with V-cache has no problems hitting 5150MHz, its' maximum.

For benching or games that prefer frequency over V-Cache, I was able to switch to Windows High Perfomance Power Plan and my 2nd CCD would boost to 5650MHz. It would bounce around between cores and 5450-5650 is what I'd see running 3dmark11, some cores would be at 5500MHz while others were lower or higher.

So it was great because I was getting the best of both worlds right? Balanced Power Plan for Gaming and V-Cache, High Performance power plan for benching or games that like raw frequency.

Then about a month after I had it, the 2nd CCD stopped boosting to 5650MHz, it would not go over 5100MHz almost like it was being limited by software or by the board so it was limited to the V-Cache CCD speeds. A few months later a BIOS update fixed it, this was in April I think, but it only lasted a few weeks and ever since, my 2nd CCD won't boost past  ~5200MHz in any load.

The issue persists now.

The reason I don't complain about it is that I'm playing the long game and being patient to see if it eventually gets permanently fixed. It is still fantastic for gaming, I just can't bench on it. So far there's been improvements with each BIOS. With them adding support for 24GB modules, I have those and am extremely happy with my 7600MHz RAM overclock.

Additionally, up until AGESA 1.0.0.8 recently, my POST times were reallllllyyyy long. It would hang on 15 with a yellow LED lit under it for about 45 seconds (training RAM). Since I main Linux as my OS and have a dual boot of Win10 and Linux, sometimes I reboot a lot and that wait time was just awful, it took like a full minute to reboot between OSes. However, now that has changed and it POSTs in about 5-10 seconds, I haven't timed it. So that's a pretty huge fix.

Unfortunately with these bleeding edge AMD processors and chipsets, it takes time for all issues to be resolved. I can say that with this launch, at least when I got my setup (March I think?) these teething issues haven't been nearly as bad as when I got a Crosshair VIII Hero back in 2019 with a 3900x. The bios had no color coding for voltages, and my boot time was like a minute and a half to get to the OS login screen. It was all eventually fixed. So I'm hopeful they will fix my 2nd CCD boosting issue this round.

I do understand in your situation you basically have something that's unusable, and you can't figure out why. Let me tell you I went through Asus support for my CCD boosting issue and they were useless. I went to AMD and they had me try a bunch of things and basically blamed 3rd party software like hwinfo64, RivaTuner, and Armory Crate that I NEED to have installed for my motherboards RGB to work- Aura Creator will not work without the Armory Crate suite, and I have a full RGB rig so yeah that's kind of important. For the boost issue I've tried flashing bios through the UEFI as well as USB BIOS flashback on a flash stick with the system off, I've tried beta bios, I've tried everything I can possibly think of to fix the boost issue and nothing has worked. So I know the frustration and despair you are probably feeling, and feeling ripped off by AMD, and so on because your rig won't work and you don't know why and can't fix it.

When Zen 3 launched, the first BIOSes for the Crosshair VIII Hero had a bug in them with NVMe drives that led to silent corruption of data and your Windows install. So everyone had to reinstall Windows once a fix was out.

Hurricane, you said it was fine for weeks with your RAM OC and CO OC. Maybe you set your OC to that and just run it, accepting that once in a blue moon it will crash?

When I ran an FX-8350 in 2012, I was running it at 5ghz and it wouldn't pass stress tests but was otherwise totally stable in games and for benching- however once a month or so I'd come back to it to find it hard locked - mouse cursor not moving and a frozen screen. Usually when it was idle. I just accepted that once in a while it was going to do that, and there was really nothing I could do about it if I wanted that OC. So I dealt with it knowing that overclocking is running something out of spec, and a part of that is accepting that there might be issues like I had, and like you are having.

My main problem with the ROG Crosshairs was that the fan headers stopped working as the ItE controller was broken or there was something with the BIOS that has EC implementation.

They fixed a lot on the Crosshair x470 hero tho and the read points were a lot better and the board also performed better. Due to Elmor (John Sandstrom) From ROG we got this new x470 board cos we had so many problems and they actually fixed what we said was broken. Later he left the company sadly so the R&D went backwards and not a word from ROG again.

Anyway, I run the same RAM CPU OC and haven't changed anything. I do not OC the CPU only put it to -20 or -22 in curve optimizer and never had an issue with it. The CPU simply doesn't boost to 5.750GHz only when doing nothing so its pointless imo. I might get to 5.6GHz manual OC to get it more stable and or better performance and lower power draw, idk.

I tried to sell my AMD system tho but most of it think its too much money and want me to send it first and then they send the money lol. I am NEVER gonna do that as people are not trustworthy.

Anyway, i think i have to stick with AMD for a while since they will iron these ram and other issues out i am sure. I do want another board like the Aorus Master cos i need/like the features better on that board but the downside is is that it has the hateful 2.5G Intel Nic that keeps shutting off and on..

MY FX-8350 was running 5GHz also with 2400MHz RAM lol. Just pushing the voltages up and some minor tweaks and it worked for me. I even did an almost 5.4GHz bench in the winter when it was cold lol. Reached an 10348 physics score which was impressive on water cooling lol. I stil have the screenshot somewhere.

Yeah the CO is what I meant by your overclock as that's essentially what it does. Trying to run manual 5.6GHz might work better, at least for gaming, but you might have issues cooling it and with multi thread loads.

Did you try -15 CO like I suggested or no?

Depends how much voltage it needs, i have an custom 360mm loop  so cooling wise i should be good.

yes but -15 doesn't do anything so its not worth testing. I also am 100% sure its not my CPU cos running that setthing since i have this CPU with no issues whatsoever. I am running it at -20 now tho instead of -22.

If the Aorus Master did not have the Intel 2.5G Nic i would have bough it tho. So sad but nothing we can do unfortunately.

You could try replacing the motherboard to another brand maybe. Or just deal with the reboots when they happen, if they happen like once a month or something.
