Well I do plan to pickup a 14900k for the test bench at some point after they release. Look forward to playing around on Intel again.

with how vcache acts as an insulator and how high Intel's TDP is I'd assume it won't/can't happen until either a die shrink or a more efficient architecture. 

 

they could always just bring back L4 like they did in the Broadwell/Haswell SKUs. It's not as fast as having the cache as part of the die but there's no issues with heat/overclocking, and the difference in capacity could make up for the speed difference.

 

the 5775C is almost 10 years old and its L4 is almost the same size as the vcache on the 7950X (128 MB vs 144 MB). surely they could stuff in more nowadays.
