Very nice review!  The Copper heatsinks look really good. I wish G.Skill had heatspreaders that could be taken apart with a screwdriver.

 

. it is a struggle to get DDR5 stable, now im wondering , you set tRFC pretty high at around 150ns, what memory dies are in these modules? I cannot tell from the Zentimings if its Samsung b-die, Hynix M or A-die? For 2x32GB 6400C28 is a very good speed , but you forgot to set MEMCLK/UCLK in 1:1 mode. So performance will be skewed a lot.

These modules are Hynix A-Die. tRFC is not something I can control, this setting must be determined by another factor. I didn't forget to set 1:1 MEMCLK/UCLK, the fact is that at the moment when I set 1:1 the system will fail to post correctly. I am waiting to see if a future BIOS helps with this and I may try again, but for now it does not like it. If I recall correctly I also backed down the IF to see if that was a factor in not being able to achieve 1:1 but it did not seem to make a difference. 

 

I will look at it again in the future after some further updates and see if the playing field has changed.

 

Right now I am sticking with 6600MT/s and see how I continue to fair, it is better than 6400MT/s by a small margin but the voltages are not causing temperatures to go mental, so I am fairly OK with it.

I just bought a set of this RAM. I guess only the first edition comes with the optional heatsinks and screwdriver.

 

They sell the heatsinks separately for $30 but only have grey and white. I bought a back memory kit so I'm undecided on if I'll get the grey heatsinks for them. Kind of disappointing that they don't just throw them in on such expensive RAM kits. 

 

On the bright side, the 7200 kit worked right out the box on AM5 with a newer BIOS. At some point I'll set aside a weekend to go insane doing RAM tuning and see if this kit can do 8000+ and compare it to my 32GB A-die kit.

I agree, with such expensive kits, it would be nice for these extra's to just be included. Will keep my fingers crossed you have a good time with this kit, I love it 🙂
