Changes To Recurring Donations - Important, Please Read

Hello all, 

 

Originally when we setup the recurring donation packages on the site, we used the inbuilt Store as part of the platform to offer these as "Products". However IPS (platform providers) are now deprecating this feature in light of community owners using better and more established platforms such as Etsy, Shopify etc.  To be fair, we were using this feature in a different way as we were offering a service, as opposed to a physical item. So the move for IPS to move users to using superior services for selling physical items does make sense.

 

Unfortunately as this feature will be deprecated, any users who had kindly setup a recurring donation to the site will find that this in the future will be cancelled. So what do you do if you want to carry on donating ? Fortunately I have moved our recurring donation packages to our subscriptions page, making it a one stop place for those who either want to purchase a Premium Subscription or/and Donate. If you are still happy to continue donating to the site, please cancel your recurring donation subscription either by visiting the Paypal Subscription section on the site, or login into you Paypal account. Once you have done that, please visit our Subscriptions & Donations page and select a recurring donation package.

 

Apologies for the inconvenience and your continued support. 

 

Please note that your Premium Subscriptions are completely unaffected by this change. So please be sure not to cancel these.

Apologies for the confusion but the above is now RETRACTED. It seems that IPS are not making the changes I thought they were. Unfortunately they poorly described the changes they were making. So there is NO need to alter anything with regards to your current recurring subscription. 

 

If you did make any changes, and need to revert these or would like to setup a recurring donation, please once again set that up from below.

hope your doing well, kind of late to the party as today (3h ago) my donation went to the old address and i kind of cant "click" on anything to choose the donation in the new section (recurring donations or subscription) .  Im using "Brave" browser, so don't know if it is related to the browser or not. Any advice?

No problem with it going via the old method, that is still active. This is just more in preparation for the change over I do not use the Brave browser personally. I can definitely say that the page works with Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Others have also been using the page recently, so for now I can only assume it is either your browser or possibly a blocking ad-on, but I am not sure what an ad-on would block on the page. Are you able to try a different browser ?

I just tried Chrome and im not able to find any active "TAB" or "Button which takes you further from this page to the actual paypal site as you have it on the one off donation site.. sorry for bothering you but can you point me to the right direction? ....

 

EDIT: I checked it now not logged in my account and the "SUBSCRIBE NOW" button appears all of the sudden....  Chrome and Brave the same result...

Thanks for the additional info, that is highly strange as nothing has changed...other than adding the donations. I will double check this again to see if it is some super odd permissions. 

 

Anyone else having this problem?

Double post..but I think I found the issue. It looks like a limitation of the current system that if you have 1 subscription, you cannot have any more. I am talking with IPS about this and will also see if there is another solution to allow members to have both a Premium subscription and another subscription type.
