I'm trying to find those arms for sale so I can donate them, no luck so far :classic_rolleyes:

Making the system easy to work on might be a good thing, lifting a fully build rig like that is not the best thing to do!

Haha too kind. I am hoping next month this is something I will be able to get sorted.

Looking good. Let me know if you need any additional risers or anything BESIDES GPU's LOL

I heard @Bastiaan_NL say he was going to donate one of his 3090's to the cause.

Oh man, and here was me hoping people were just giving away GPU's ! To be honest I have been looking at getting some more 1070's but on Ebay they are going for inflated prices right now for obvious reasons. If anyone is selling a 1070 for a realistic price then let me know haha.

Well it looks like I have some testing to do. (System all stock) I got a BSOD with respects to the Nvidia driver, which is no huge deal. So I removed the Nvidia driver completely with DDU and put in the headless dongle on the GTX 1070 so I can access the Nvidia control panel, otherwise it wont open if it does not detect a monitor input. Anyway, now when I boot the system and the folding client begins the system freezes, no BSOD or instant reboot. Will have to see if the log sheds any light.

I will also try moving the GPU over to another riser card just in case the one I am using is bad.

Hmmm this could prove to be a pain. Can anyone recommend a decent motherboard with a good amount of full size PCI-e slots that is compatible with an Intel 9700 (LGA 1151)

May just go with a full riser setup from GPU to mobo as opposed to the setup I currently have.

Anyone also got a good lead to a decent mining rig chassis ? Something that can take two power supplies ?

LOL I told ya!. I literally am going down that road right now with M40's. Need full risers. Try here for boards: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007627 600239779&Order=1 You should look for a bifurcation card and see if the board is compatible. That is what I am trying to do with the threadripper and x399 board, but I can't seem to find a good card.

I bought this mining rig chassis. I like it, but it was a serious * to put together.

If you don't mind the power consumption (250w) there are Tesla M40's on ebay for 119$ plus shipping that put out about 1 million PPD. You will need 2xPCI-e to 1x CPU splitter cables.  Really eats up PCI-e PSU slots. I have to use a 1600w AND a 1000w for 5 of them just to have enough PCI-e plugs for them all.  They don't use nearly that much.

This one doesn't specifically say no international shipping. The one for 119 did though. https://www.ebay.com/p/28037114145

Sold out apparently. Looks like most places the M40 is about £400 which is a little pricey.

If you do end up getting any you WILL need this adapter cable. Maybe not 20 of them. Tesla have CPU pin-out 8 pin plugs, not PCI-e plugs.

The mining rig on the left has 3 k80s in it.

Oh right, what a bummer. Driver issue ?

Yea I suppose, no matter what I did, they were just disabled in the FaH client. I tried everything. I will try one last time to put them in a Threadripper build before selling the last 3 cards.

The K80 and M40 drivers are the same ones. I even downloaded the separate CUDA drivers to no avail.
