Really sad to see this day come, but it somehow felt inevitable.

I still have strong nostalgia for eagerly awaiting their reviews on new product launches and jumping straight to the overclocking section...

With the advent of quick info consumption through the likes of YouTube, this is not surprising. There is still a place for written content, in-depth or otherwise. However in the ever quickening pace of the world and the need for instant information and gratification, people have less "want" to read through articles these days. I think it is a real shame.

Ironically, this is why I keep craving the slower-burn content that I can enjoy at my own pace. I felt this *a lot* with the Zen 5 release... I want to read and digest specific sections at my own pace and not be force-fed graphs and gaming drama or whatnot over and over 10 minutes at a time.

The days of forming your own conclusion from information are basically over, which is... a time.

Pretty much. Just read the benchmarks and see if its big enough performance jump for you to upgrade. Ignore the rest of the comments.

Just a thought; I actually prefer to get information from written articles. The problem I find is that articles seldom have the goal of just being informative today, and instead they're padded out and time wasting. YouTube often works better, but only because it's quicker and easier to skip through the filler on a video, and there are extensions that help with that for YouTube. If it's a written article, it just takes more energy to go through it to get to the point. Wish that wasn't the case.

When things like this happen, it's hard not to dwell on those bittersweet memories—like reading about the latest CPU and how it compares to the competition. Over the years, so much has changed. I often wonder if it's because I'm getting older and struggling to let go. The news of Anandtech shutting down strangely hit me; I felt a deep sadness in the pit of my stomach. Then I thought, "Why do I care so much?!" It's all those years since the mid-2000s when I first learned about building computers and overclocking. Anandtech was one of the go-to sites for information. I find myself always slipping into nostalgia—something I imagine we all do.

This seems to be the problem in all forms of media anymore, whether written, radio,or video.Everyone is presenting information but with their own "take" or bias on it or they want to spin it for their own view point. Gone are the days of Walter Cronkite presenting the news and simply saying "And That's The Way It Is".

People started wanting to be entertained instead of informed and the news institutions jumped right on the train because it made them more money since cable tv was a new thing and if you were popular people subscribed to your channel.(back in the day before 200 channel basic cable) The internet was even worse because the commercials and "likes" paid for their views. 😢

Yea this is definitely a sad aspect of our modern media system. Things have gone from click bait as the norm to now rage-baiting. I stumbled onto a video the other day in which a young girl (like too young to have any real intelligence) was talking about the game Concord flopping and being shut down, and she framed it as some kind of win against the "woke mob". She kept saying "the activists" and 'DEI" as if there was some kind of political group that didn't want the game to fail. So annoying. Can't a game or movie come out these days and just be bad on its own merits? But I guess people gotta feed the algorithm, and the algorithm wants hateful politicized drama.

This is a bit off topic, but speaking about the polarized nature of our media, have you guys heard about this Tenet Media thing? Pretty big news in the context of media being so broken, just to build on what I said earlier before this news came out.
