Nvidia CPU could offer 4070m levels of performance

The long-running rumor is that Nvidia will be working with MediaTek to produce these Arm-based chips. The latter's rival, Qualcomm, has been busy in the PC space with its Snapdragon X-series processors. They've not really set the world on fire, especially when it comes to gaming performance, though they are praised for their battery life.

Nvidia's chip, however, sounds like it could be a great choice for gamers. According to YouTube channel Moore's Law is Dead, Nvidia is comparing the APU to an RTX 4070 laptop GPU running at around 65 W in gaming performance. The chip is also said to be "targeting up to 80W."

Will be interesting to see what happens with this.

I didn't look into the rumor much previously but that would really be an interesting product, a laptop form-factor PC with lots of compute based on ARM + nVidia. I don't often see a whole lot of love toward Windows and ARM for example but, I don't really search that information out to be honest. Intels jump into GPUs has been rocky but can definitely be solved by more investment. Will be interesting to see what nVidia can do since they likely have the funding to make it work.

I do hope ARM desktop cpu's take off. If we can move away from X86. That would open up a lot of new options. Imagine having 4 or 5 CPU choices. However i don't think we will see Nvidia or other ARM cpu's socketed. But maybe AMD will do it.

Maybe we will get an AMD cpu with a ryzen chiplet and an ARM chiplet.
