After much rumor and speculation, Sony has confirmed it's hosting a PS5 games reveal event on June 4.

The PS5 game reveal event will be an hour-long presentation, called the 'Future of Gaming', and will give us our first look at the PlayStation 5's game line-up.

The presentation will air on June 4 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST (or on June 5 at 6am AEST). Fans will be able to watch via Twitch, YouTube or the official PS5 website. Check out the teaser trailer for the showcase below:

I'm likely to buy one. I'll definitely buy one if it's fully backwards compatible with the PS4. The PS4 is actually the first Sony console I haven't owned.

If its fully backwards compatible back to first gen then even I may be tempted to get it but not straight away, not a huge priority right now.

There have been rumours for quite a while now that it will be fully compatible back to original (software emulation for PS1, PS2 and PS4, hardware for PS3). I don't believe that it will have PS3 hardware inside of it, but we never know. The first gen PS3 did have PS2 hardware inside of it.

Yeah I doubt they will make that mistake again and go all out by putting in another hardware subset in there like they did with the PS3 for PS2. Would be wicked if they managed to figure out a well performing emulation for PS3, but due to the PS3's complexity this may be difficult. I reckon this console is going to be at least £550-£650.
