Looking good man. I know if I were doing all that the results would be much more catastrophic
Also... I can't see diamond plate without thinking of the danger to manifold scene from F&F

Thanks bud
Yeah, my first advice would be to stay sober during sessions like this
The preparation is key and takes 90% of the time, but it's easy to mess things up and I'm glad I didn't. I bet if I do this more often things will go smoother, less figuring out and more fun.
Regarding the diamond plate, if you would be in my line of work I bet you would have a lot of F&F flashbacks. Most of the enginerooms are covered in diamond plates -
Thanks guys
I really hope I can do this more often, now I need an LN2 sponsor for the next event

Thanks, this once was my F@H frame and is now enjoying life as the bench frame.
It is really enjoyable to work with this setup, being able to walk around makes it even better!- 1

This weekend I've been playing with dry ice on an MSI RX5700XT.
It was my first time with dice and running a GPU sub ambient (the previous attempts with the cascade didn't go so well). It was fun and I learned a few things at the same time, for instance: don't put too much dice and acetone in the pot or it will boil over the edge and make the GPU stop working
I managed to take back my gold in TimeSpy (for now) and get a second place in WildLife Extreme for the team competition.
Near the end of todays run the pot started leaking, acetone is dirty stuff and makes its way through threads sealed with Loctite. The shop towel protecting the motherboard was getting wet from Acetone, not ideal.
Anyways, here are a few pictures, a YouTube video and a few links to submissions:Bastiaan_NL`s 3DMark - Time Spy score: 12968 marks with a Radeon RX 5700 XT

Finally:
It's not worth extra points (for now), but it was fun to finally get it working!

25Kg of dry-ice on the way. I hope that's enough to get something to work properly and get a decent score
Sadly @server075 can't make it, so I have to do this alone.
@neurotix even if it seems like your score doesn't count towards the total, it's always good to have a backup subbed. We've seen in the past that some results get deleted when there are mistakes made, and even after checking everything several times we still don't see everything. Your score would be the next one to count and make a big difference in the points total.
Besides that, I think it's fun to try different hardware for a sub or two.- 1

We took back second for now, thanks to Looze
Also, I managed to get a sub in with the 12300.
It was a battle to get that to work properly, ranging between 131 and 128bclk during the benchmark. I had to use the blck up and down button to get the highest possible bclk per testBastiaan_NL`s Geekbench6 - Multi Core score: 11698 points with a Core i3 12300

Now this was a fun one
So much effort for a stock run, but at least we have a few more points. Now I'm thinking about getting a decent board for this CPU..Bastiaan_NL`s 3DMark11 Physics score: 5762 Points with a Core i5 2380P

The maximum CPU frequency is updated on both the AM5 benchmarks:
The new max is now 5008mhz instead of 5005mhz. There were issues with clock drift causing many invalid subs.

good going, but DAMN! i didnt know i only could do 3 submissions for the Ryzen Cezanne 3dmark Vantage competition, pretty stupid because my first entry wasnt even a valid score. Will fire up my 7700X and the other categories i have hardware from
Are you sure you can't do more than 3 submissions? If not I would suggest asking the mods to delete the previous submissions.
Also, if you are going to mess with the 7700x I can leave mine alone to save me some time. There are enough setbacks already with the other hardware causing a lot of extra work- 1

Yesterday I picked up the 3D printed brackets for the cascade to mount on a few different GPU's.
Here is a test fit on the HD6850. This one has EVC2 voltage control so I can properly blow it upI'm also gonna test windows 8.1 with driver 13.12 on x570/5800x instead of w7 on z690. Hopefully with some better results.

Speaking of Youtube, I should probably record some of the work to share that here

Ha, I tested 3 GPU's already. Better to do it now I have a little bit of time instead of when the comp is actually going and work decides to go crazy

Got some scores on the board with the Sapphire card, but based on the heavy green snow artifacts, it's probably not gonna last long or take much more abuse... Conveniently, have two other 6850s
Next in line to get fluxxxed up is the Asus card. @Bastiaan_NL helped me figure out the controller and how to mod this thing, so I soldered it up and will see how she does.
Soldering this was a challenge. I bridged a connection the first try, but think I got it... Yes I went nuts with the hot glue to keep everything from moving around.
Thought it would look slick to pass the wires through this hole and it worked out well. Again shot nice load of hot glue on it just to be safe.
That hole wasn't used for cooler mounting so I can still pop the stock cooler on to test before I swap the waterblock over.
Nice work, really glad you gave it a try

I'm going to use your post to go on a small rant.
The only reason I stopped participating at Hwbot, is because a few elite members who control HWBot control every aspect of the "competitions". The rules are arbitrary and capricious (such as LOD/Tess manipulation) and most of the competitions are basically the same pros almost every time at the top. There are a ton of awesome members and even some great information sharing, but trends became evident the more I participated there. HwBot gives you the ability to filter results by cooling options, but still assigns points in a raw format. If the points were assigned within the hardware limitations, it would make the competitions far more 'competitive' for people without exotic cooling, and the people at the top would still be the same people at the top. Even if you didn't do it by the hardware on the submission, do it within the leagues. The extreme league members are almost always going to beat the novice league members with the same hardware, they have better cooling, per the league requirements.
Most of the competition results are unattainable for 99.99% of people who buy PC hardware. Thats not to say they arent incredible and impressive, but I felt comparing people with air cooling vs someone using LN2 on the same benchmark seems less than ideal, to me. The competitions and scoring should reflect those differences, imo. Joe Gamer who just bought a 13900KS is never going to put up the overclock that pros can put up, especially when top pros have exotic cooling and Joe Gamer has an air blower fan in a case.
This is why I really liked the one competition last year @Sugi0lover over on OC.net won, because it was current hardware, with some restrictions to keep a level playing field, and it made each person show different aspects of overclocking, RAM/CPU, etc. Its unfortunate they don't do that for all their competitions.
/rant over
I sort of agree with you but there are also things they are trying to do to make it more fun for everyone.
For example the competitions where there are stages for ambient and sub ambient cooling (G7400 iirc).I often feel like a noob among those elite members, but for me it's a motivation to perform better.
Now for the team cup, the main goal is to get each stage filled with subs. Quantity over quality for this competition, even though it feels strange.
There are things I would love to see differently, but where else do you find a place to do this stuff online? HWBOT is awesome, even though it has flaws.
Please keep that in mind when going on a rant, the people who run the system try their best to make it a good place for everyone.5 hours ago, pioneerisloud said:From my understanding of the Team Cup though is that you don't "NEED" to hoard away hardware like some of us tend to do anyway. The whole point is for our entire TEAM to be involved. Run literally whatever you've got that you CAN run within their bench rules. Even if its just one run. If everyone on the site does just one run on stuff that we can run, we'd have every position filled.
We need a lot of weird hardware and we have enough members to fill in a lot of the blanks.
Everyone here has a storage with at least some weird old hardware, with a bit of love that could be used for the team
Like I said, quantity over quality. And if someone feels like going crazy with the specific hardware they own, that's only better- 1

Do know even though a few 4 cores are now valid for the comp I woudn't expect too much from all that since the Gigas that can run 4P with an 8 or 9 series FX chip will most likely dominate this stage anyway, but at the same time it's better to have a sub period than nothing at all.
And you never know if you'll get a freak chip or not.The main goal is getting enough subs. I can prepare some things in advance so there is a bit more chance for decent scores but most of it will be just fillers.
