The rumor comes from Quasarzone who talked to South Korean industry experts who highlighted that NVIDIA is informing its partners about limited shipments for its GeForce RTX 40 "Ada' GPUs as the launch of RTX 50 "Blackwell" GPUs approaches for 2H 2024.

The experts specifically state that the GeForce RTX 40 GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture will see a sharp decline in shipments as a means to manage inventory levels & make enough room for the next-gen gaming lineup. At the same time, NVIDIA will be retaining the same price points for its RTX 40 lineup and we might even see continued drop even though some of these RTX 40 GPUs are very popular options for the AI market.

NVIDIA is planning to limit shipments of GeForce RTX 40 "Ada" GPUs to make room for the next-gen RTX 50 "Blackwell" gaming lineup.

The announcement was made during an AI PC summit held in Beijing, China. AMD's CEO is currently on a trip to China where the CEO will be meeting with AI and PC partners to accelerate the launch of its next-generation platforms. While the company launched its Hawk Point "Ryzen 8040" APU family earlier this year, the next-gen Strix Point APUs will mark a major upgrade, featuring a brand new CPU, GPU, and NPU architecture.

AMD has officially confirmed RDNA 3+ Radeon GPU architecture for 2024 which will be powering the next-gen Strix Point APUs.

"While the user thinks they are interacting normally with different VR applications, they are in fact interacting within a simulated world, where everything they see and hear has been intercepted, relayed, and possibly altered by the attacker," the researchers wrote in the study.

Researchers created cloned versions of the Meta Quest Browser and VRChat app. Once the replica browser app was running, the researchers were able to spy on the users as they logged into sensitive accounts, like their bank or email.

With the built in Camera they can probably even see in your house 😐

Steam itself will not launch on CPU's missing the CMPXCHG16b instruction set now.  This is NOT a requirement to play games I've purchased on Steam, but it is a requirement to launch the Steam client itself now.  Just tried on Socket 939 with Kubuntu last night.  The system itself was snappy and quick enough to daily drive even (as a dual core with DDR400).  But nope, can't install Steam even on Linux anymore.

I was actually planning on recording a BeamNG.drive session on the Socket 939 system soon, that's why I was prepping the system for Steam on Linux, since Windows 7 Steam doesn't install on anymore.  This is a system I've literally played the game on before just fine.

What about their legacy steam? Someone will probably find a hack or something. This instruction junk is not needed on a game launcher seem like someone paid them....

Is beam ng on epic store?

    Update:

Valve will no longer allow Steam to even be installed on older CPU's now, its not just a Windows 7 thing.  They are now actively blocking Steam installations on Linux on older machines too.  This actually is now directly effecting me, and youtube content I was preparing to make (playing games on old rigs).  Literally cannot play games, I've paid for, on hardware that's officially supported by the game now.

I ran windows 8 on a pentium D am sure windows 11 too. What kind of game?

In tests on mice, a team led by researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found that flashes of light and clicks of sound at a frequency of 40 times a second (or 40 hertz) helped clear amyloid proteins from the brain's glymphatic system, a 'plumbing' network that removes harmful substances.

A buildup of amyloid protein is noticeable in brains with Alzheimer's, although scientists still aren't sure if this aggregation is a direct cause of the disease – it's likely that there's much more going on as well.

Veteran hardware reviewer Igor Wallossek has published an investigation into AiO CPU cooler radiator materials. Something must have got Wallossek’s spider senses tingling because his investigation into six branded designs uncovered three that were over-spec'd. By that, we mean half of the AiO brands sold radiators using different, cheaper materials than mentioned in their product data sheets, websites, or advertising. The most common switcheroo was advertising copper but instead using a copper/zinc alloy like brass.

Now coming to the AIO's performance, by the benchmarking done by Der8auer, he noticed relatively decent gaming and synthetic performance of the Wieland AIO, when compared to Corsair's H150i, which comes with a great onboard AIO pump. The average temperature difference between both AIOs was noted to be 8 degrees, which isn't a lot compared to the grand scheme of things.

    WCCFTECH.COM

Imagine having an AIO liquid cooler without any onboard pump, potentially getting your noise levels down to zero, well a solution has arrived.

This bit of 'news' is what sold me on one*, oddly.

The OoB OC'd models (Nitro+, GB GamingOC, etc) already help to close the gap w/ the 7900XT.

Being able to OC it further, was extremely attractive.

*That, and me accidentally manipulating @pioneerisloud into 'enabling' my own irresponsibility...

(He didn't even know the card existed, until I linked him to it a few days ago. Then, last night I got goaded into it. 😅)

I understand that. If price drop a bit and there some overclocking potential maybe it would be able to reach 7900xt level!

I was 'sold' on "Pokemans w/ Guns and animal husbandry".

However, what I saw in gameplay, was ARK: Survival Evolved w/ Pokemans (instead of Dinosaurs)
Since Studio Wildcard unironically gave me Gamer-PTSD* over any game w/ similar style/gameplay, it's easy-peasy for me to ignore PalWorld.

    *(short)story time:

Several Years Ago, GF + myself + roomie had absorbed ourselves into ARK.
-Home-hosted server, 'bases' across our map, etc.

Then, Studio Wildcard 'updated' the game, and broke everything on our little server.

-Bases floating in the air, animals scatted across the world, and making memory leaks, you name it

We tried to play-through it, but it got more-and-more-and-more cursed as we played.

'Bout that time Wildcard renege'd on promised DX12 support, actively covered-up the fact they ever promised it, and never bothered to improve AMD performance.

Furthermore, after being dis-enthused/dis-enchanted, I'd stumbled into their ownership and investments, and just felt used.

In *this industry* that openly 'remixes' game-components, and 'reuses' marketing strategies
I genuinely think it's fair to apply the failings and wrong-doings of a predecessor, towards/upon 'remixed' successors.

    In other words:

If your GameY is *clearly* trying to be like GameX, don't be surprised when people that were burned by GameX, "apply" their feelings towards your GameY.

Was lucky i never played enough to have issue in ark. Just got ascended and now i realise how bad this developer is. This crap is horrendous!

Pallworld is like ark but with ways less content to me. And graphic are not really good seem really empty.

    If you're forward-looking @ 4K + VR, I can't blame ya for finding the 4090 the only option.

TBQH, I'm hopeful that Navi 4x will deliver on the promises of a mid-tier 7900XTX perf.-equiv, with much-improved RT. If that's the case, you may not have to pay out $1-3k for the performance you're looking for.

Those benchmark show hte 7900gre ways faster than the one i saw. With driver optimisation it probably going to improve.

Sadly they are about 700-820$ in Canada. At 500$ i would grab one for sure.

RDN4 and Intel Arc are probably going to break the overpriced scheme we have since covid. 😄

I want something decent for 4k and VR that i don't need to worry about upcoming game engine too much. Only the 4090 seem decent. 3k in canada for one currently haha.

AMD confirmed to Hardware Unboxed’s Steve Walton that the graphics card is indeed hampered in this respect, and that it’s a glitch causing this.
