Anyone with the current 4000 series lineup (non-super) might as well hold on to what they have and wait for the 5000 or 6000 series to drop. Anyone with a 3090 should also keep hold of it until the 5000 series. I don't thing the Super series has shaken anything up but to be fair this should not be a surprise. Afterall the super series is only a refresh.

I think the main thing is the new 4070ti super 16gb is on par almost with the old 4080. And the new 4080 is now officially a 7900xtx killer. If price are right.

I may get one of those since am out of gpu.

But waiting for next release would be the smart move for sure.

NVIDIA Founders Edition cards for some of the latest GPUs have been sent out to reviewers. The RTX 4070 SUPER and 4080 SUPER are among these models set to receive this reference edition. In terms of pricing, the RTX 4080 SUPER is slated to be priced at $999, which is $200 less than the launch price of the non-SUPER version, RTX 4080. NVIDIA appears to be confirming earlier speculations that the RTX 4080S and 4070TiS will replace the current models in their product lineup. The updated chart no longer includes references to these specific SKUs. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is set to take the place of the RTX 4070 Ti non-SUPER at a price point of $799. Simultaneously, the RTX 4070 SUPER is expected to be priced at $599 in retail, while the existing non-SUPER model is officially confirmed to have a revised MSRP of $599.

The teaser is very brief and gives us a few hints at what this upcoming handheld gaming console from MSI is going to be like. The short video starts with the front of the device which shows a design resembling the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck OLED. The dual triggers are lit up by RGB-LEDs which is a nice touch in terms of aesthetics.

MSI also seems to be focusing a lot on the exhaust vents which might highlight the cooling and thermal capabilities of this device. A tag reading "True Gaming" is featured and we see a lot of these dual black/red tone mesh grills on the back of the product. A large MSI "Dragon" logo can also be seen which might also come with RGB LED illumination.

The first entries for soon to be launched AMD Ryzen 5000 desktop SKUs have been uncovered on a European price comparison site, as discovered by hardware leaker @momomo_us. It appears that certain retailers have already listed the new Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500GT, some even claiming that they are in stock and ready for shipping. The eight-core Ryzen 7 5700X3D has been spotted on two retail platforms, with prices ranging from €270 to €280.

The launch date for AMD’s upcoming AM4 CPU series has not been officially confirmed, but unofficial indications strongly suggest a release this quarter. The existence of retailer listings is a clear signal that the launch is imminent, with expectations leaning towards days or weeks rather than months.

Leaked details reveal that the Ryzen 7 8700G APU will feature Radeon 780M graphics with 12 Compute Units, boasting a boost clock of 2.9 GHz. The lower thermal and power constraints in the desktop form factor should make it easy to increase the frequency above 3.0 GHz, though. Benchmark results, conducted using Geekbench OpenCL and Vulkan APIs, show 29244 and 35427 points, respectively. In comparison to Phoenix-based mobile APUs using the same specs, performance is within the margin of error. It should also easily be twice as fast as Ryzen 7 5700G “RX Vega 8” integrated graphics, but it is worth keeping in mind that synthetic benchmarks may not reflect gaming performance. For those, it’s best to wait for independent reviews to appear, which should hopefully happen soon.

The upcoming MSI TITAN 18HX is set to be powered by the Intel 14th Gen Core-HX processor and will be equipped with either the GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop or RTX 4090 Laptop GPUs. Our sources indicate that the TITAN will feature a 24- core Core i9-14900HX processor, although MSI has not officially confirmed the name. What is confirmed though is that the processor is expected to achieve a boost clock of up to 5.8 GHz, surpassing the i9-13980HX by over 200 MHz. The most interesting detail that was just revealed is the new 270W TDP mode for combined CPU and GPU power. In contrast to the previous TITAN’s 250W mode, this upgrade implies a 175W TGP for the graphics and a 95W boost for the CPU, a significant 40W increase from the default TDP. Importantly, this remains within the MTP (Maximum Turbo Power) limits set by Intel at 157W, but this will enable the CPU to sustain higher clock speeds for longer periods.

MSI has officially confirmed that the TITAN 18 HX will be accompanied by a 400W power supply, although no images are available. It can be reasonably assumed that the power supply will be sizable.

Looks like this being made by a Russian mod team, so... ya know... probably not much Rockstar can do to stop them. But it's also due out in 2025, and supposedly "it will be a completely different game, in a completely different city."

You might wanna move this out of the news section since it's just an announcement for a mod that's still over a year away and may never release, or may just end up as a vice city inspired asset flip.

Well kinda like a game leak. Same as hardware we are still waiting for 4090ti haha.

I got faith it will be done. Back in the days we had a mod that combined gta 3 vice city and san andreas in a single game.

Russian are the best for crazy mod and keeping old game alive.

TY.  I wasn't sure if the cutoff was Socket 939 or if AM2 K8's were included.  I know K10's work, which I said.

............didn't I say that like 10 times?  Yes, a K8 can install Win10 x86.  But its not going to play games on Steam in 10 x86.  The CPU is stuck at 100% the whole time because of the Windows 10 overhead required.  But yet 2 weeks ago, my K8 build was happily playing my Steam games on Windows 7 x64.

You're also negating every OTHER CPU that's older than K8, that can run and play games on Windows 7 just fine, but can't run Windows 10.  I never said this was a problem for people with modern hardware, this is a problem for vintage / retro enthusiasts.

The overhead is probably not the issue.

Defender is probably pegging the cpu. I disable that junk with winaero on older hardware.

Had issue at school 20y ago with antivirus doing the same crap on windows xp.

    It was planned obsolescence.

This move seems to have ticked off a lot more people than when they cut Windows XP support.  Interesting.

Personally, I still say that Valve should release a "vintage client" capable of installing on any version of windows (with a disclaimer about security risks).  Something that allows the games to be installed and played, and that's it.  No extra features (so no need for the Chrome bits).  They could do this, Steam used to work even on Windows 98.  So they absolutely CAN do it.

The reason this upsets me, is because there's TONS of games that I personally own, that only work on older Windows.  Those games, that I've paid for, are slowly being taken away from me by Steam, since I can no longer play them.  A good example honestly is Quake.  Yes, there's the new remake.  Yes, it does run on Windows 10.  But it doesn't feel the same AT ALL compared to a Windows 98 or XP install of it on older hardware.  If the game says it requires Windows XP, 7, 98 or whatever, we should be able to play it on those OS's since we've payed for the title to play.

Just my 2 cents.  I know advancement and all that, but this really wouldn't be THAT hard for Valve to pull off.  They just won't. -_-

If something isn't done about this soon by somebody, I might just start frequenting GoG sales instead of Steam sales and start migrating my library over to GoG.  At least those games are DRM free. 🙂

I think you can run an older version they just says that the store chrome browser will be unsecured.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is soon going to be remastered with GTA V's Rage Engine by some dedicated fans, as revealed by a new trailer.

The game's Nextgen Edition, which is in development by the modding team Revolution Team, won't be just another conversion of the city but a proper remaster that will feature all of the original game's missions. While bringing over all of the story content of the original is the team's main priority, the Nextgen Edition will also feature other improvements, such as those seen in the Definitive Edition for the city itself and the weapons, improved textures for cars and NPCs, neon lights on buildings from Vice City Stories and additional fixes.

On Valve's Steam Support page, the firm has revealed that future platform updates won't include support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, which means that older versions of Microsoft's operating system will be deprived of security updates and technical support. This means that the users on the mentioned platforms are advised to switch to the latest versions anytime soon, given that utilizing Steam on Windows 7/8 won't be the ideal choice.

Steam has officially dropped support for "outdated" Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8, marking the end of an era for gamers.
