  1. ...and now, the fun begins w/ tuning and oc'ing after water-cooling both CPU and GPU. The CH8 Dark Hero has a myriad of great options (ie. DynamicOC) for simultaneous single-and-multi core performance...and the NVidia RTX3k will not only boost higher due to the water jacket, but apart from MIS AB slides & curves, there is also .../System32/nvidia-smi.exe ...it may take a while, but it is a fun journey, especially as both CPU and GPU have boost algorithms sensitive to temps which now have an ample (and great-looking) water-cooling to get you to the juicy ranges ! BTW, do you have / are you getting FS2020 ?
  2. ahem, doesn't teleporting scramble things ? May be I stick to quantum entanglement for now...
  3. If it bothers you but you don't want to plug it apart again at this stage, you might consider putting some matt black plastic around that connecting tube - or 'dress it' with a much bigger outer black plastic tube or even sphere for an optical illusion, sort of...
  4. I was checking out Luumi's vids on the Kingpin 3090 Ti...Luumi is a highly respected XOCer. The Kingpin 3090 Ti's PCB is s.th. else (same for the not-quite-finished 3090 Ti Galax HoF), and both of those have two of the new 600W max power connectors for up to a theoretical 1200W (and requiring six PCIe 8-pin cables from the PSU for the two accompanying dongles)...importantly, said PCBs are very likely close if not identical to what the 4090 / 4090 Ti will use - essentially, they represent a 'dry run' for the upcoming PCBs of top-end RTX4kx . ...but given my 'contentment' setup which easily beats at least the light oc (w-cooled) numbers and also a look at HWBot per Luumi's comments, I have zero desire to get a NVidia 3090 Ti at this stage. Ditto for the recently released AMD 6950XT (both are the successor models to what I currently run). Just not worth the $s or system disassembly / re-assembly time and prep, IMO...
  5. ...must be frustrating as apart from the Gigabyte/Aorus, Phanteks already announced 3090 Ti blocks for Asus Strix, Tuf and for MSI SuprimX, Gaming X Trio...
  6. I would check Phantek's site regularly. Per TechPowerUp > here , Phantek's just announced a 3090 Ti block for Gigabyte, and they may very well add EVGA to their palette. FYI, I switched from EKWB to Phanteks for my 3090 Strix OC, better quality and better temps...
  7. I bought three Antec 300s in late '12, and two are still in use for light office duty, while the third is the 1080P SLI retro gamer w/ some extra 'dremel air flow' mods on the side panel
  8. ...yeah, anyone who limits themselves re. hardware choices - much less when competing at HWBot - should have a thoroughly long vacation filled with mental days. I own about twice as many NVidia as AMD GPUs, but heck, I might even add one of those upcoming (if ever released...) Intel discreet GPUs if those are shown to work well. In my latest build, w/ everything at 24C ambient, the 3090 w-cooled Strix beats the w-cooled 6900XT most of the time at 4K and/or ray tracing, but the AMD rips well past 24.1k graphics in Time Spy, to name just one example. It is also a 3x8 pin PCB just like the NVidia, and frankly has way more fun options to super-tune, thanks to MPT etc....stock, the AMD is limited to 303W max, now it is running 500W, and I could push it to 600W (but won't). Granted, the 3090 is running 520W (potentially up to 1kw vbios, but I haven't run that one so far either). The amount of fiddling one can do for extra HWBot scores as a result is relatively more limited, unless you are running a Kingpin or Galax Ampere, and/or the 1kw XOC vbios. The AMD is MAD fun just to fool around with, the NVidia is the more focused pure-blood racehorse. Obviously, all this does not focus on folding@home, mining etc which can be a different ballgame. Either way though, looking at leaks re. next-gen GPUs by both AMD and NVidia, it is going to be a crazy PL fight at the top end, much like the muscle car era in the late 1960s/early '70s. That in turns means getting some really good hi-po PSUs...not just by the numbers on the box, but re. ripple et al. GPUs with 600W max on stock vbios are just around the corner, never mind those spy shots of upcoming GPU PCBs with two 600W connectors
  9. ...nah, the dual mobo / dual GPU work-play setup for 2x 16c/32t CPUs and 2x500W+ GPUs only has a total of 2550mm x 63mm rads, 'many' 120mm fans in push-pull, and 5x D5s - just enough to be whisper-quiet... ...the only dancing required is by the cooling liquids in the reservoirs
  10. ...or w-cool everything w/plenty of excess capacity - whisper-quite 2x 500W+ GPUs at barely high 30s to low 40s C under full load at 24 C ambient say so
  11. Very nice ! But for now, I'm sticking to stock clocks and PL - 1600 FPS is nuts already ...I remember RTX3K cards blowing up in menu via 'Amazon's New World' but may be I'll change my mind later and oc the crap out of the 3090 ...best laid plans...moved up a few slots but decent 3090 GPU & VRAM clocks can't make up for 12900K at 5400 MHz...and my Unify-X board hasn't got a CPU or DDR5 yet (waiting for at least Raptor Lake; mobo still in sealed box) @Bastiaan_NL ...can you try to run your two 3090s in SLI/NVLink for Superpostion 8K Optimized ? My 11998 run is three years old and there are 3090 / 3090 Ti at HWBot Superpos8K per below/ left, but I don't think I have seen a 2x RTX3k... Wondering whether 2x RTX NVL only worked w/ RTX2k for this bench. AFAIK, overall record is 4x 1080 Ti
  12. ...some more FS2020 fun - w/HDR, screenshots look a bit washed/bleached out, but the originals are s.th. else on a big OLED, so much fun ! ...some Need For Speed: Most Wanted - @Bastiaan_NL ...
  13. ...Cloudgate = blast from the past ! The 6900XT (stock clocks) results are held back a bit by the 3950X (so the AMD GPU insisted that I insert one of its better Time Spy runs, for its honour ). The 3090 run below which was also at stock PL / clocks would be at # 70 at 3DM HoF already. I won't try for more though via oc'ing as both cards hit 1600 FPS - I normally restrict the 3090 to 300 FPS as some game menus can go FPS-berserk. ...I also found my old Steam-based 3DMark 11; s.th. to play with later for a GPU ambient benchie thread I'm thinking about. I still have a couple of GTX 780 Ti / 980 Classies and EVbot I could torture just a bit more
  14. Thanks ! ...I didn't check that at all before, oops
  15. ...I find 48 inch is 'max' for a working monitor...got used to it and love it. But that's only really possible with OLED / high pixel count per square inch. I tried the 55 inch IPS HDR as a monitor as well before, but it is just plain too big and doesn't have the same pixel density. ...FYI, I added some Superposition 8K comp results to the OP
  16. ...I was wondering about old hardware for Cloudgate and was going to recommend you use some 780 Tis...'when I was young', we used hopped up EVBot 780 Ti Classies... Quick related question: How do you get Cloudgate to run these days (I want to try my RTX and RDNA2 cards...) ? My 3DMark apps have all updated to the latest versions that don't offer Cloudgate anymore
  17. ...apart from FS2020, Cyberpunk '77, Forza H 5 and Team 4 (superbike racing) I mentioned before, I've 'rediscovered' Need for Speed: Most Wanted. That used to be a fav many years back (I started w/ the 2013 edition) but I installed it now on my latest systems and noticed that they have an updated graphics engine and much new content - RTX2,3kxx and RDNA2 have zero problems running everything at ultra / max at 4K...I still think NFS: Most Wanted is more than competitive with newer racing games in the sheer fun department.
  18. Very nice - grats ! Is that (Cloudgate) part of a specific HWBot competition that has to use the M2000 ?
  19. ...officially, FS2020 doesn't support SLI Crossfire, but there was undocumented SLI/NVLink feature for NVidia drivers called 'CFR' ('checkerboard') for the RTX2k GPUs and that works with FS2020...
  20. ...like everything higher - fps, altitude, sense of humour FYI, while the original posts refers to game-stable-clocks, I decided to do a full-on run with the 2x2080Ti...24C and over 1200W system power draw ...will see what I can do w/ updated Superposition4K runs for the 3090 and 6900XT later...
