  1. You have to attend to those before you can send me the images you already posted in an uncompressed format? Can't you just send me the same images you posted here, just in a zip folder?
  2. Can you send me all the newer logos in this style that you have made in a zip file so they are not compressed by the website? Thx.
  3. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/90386/amd-releases-source-code-for-fidelityfx-super-resolution-2-aka-its-dlss/index.html Finally, one of these things goes open source. Sounds like they've made a lot of improvements too.
  4. I feel the same as Bing about most people. I see this as a sign that Bing actually is pretty intelligent.
  5. Whatever the products in question, I don't think you can really compare Russia and China here. There are US states with larger economys than Russia. China would have massively more to lose if they did something similar because their economy is based so heavily on international trade. If the US stopped trading with China, it would hurt China a lot more than it would hurt the US. China can't grow enough rice for its own population. They simply cannot afford an incident like this.
  6. I'm not sure how that's relavent. The two situations would have some surface level similarities, but would otherwise be very different. Just because a was with China would be more complicated, is no reason to make Ukraine more complicated than it really is. That, and I am already strongly opposed to Chinese software on my computer.
  7. I don't think anyone is saying it's the devs fault, but it's a Russian studio making a pretty pro Russia game, releasing it on the same day as the one year anniversary of the invasion, controlled by an investor with direct ties to the Russian state. At the very least, it raises some concerns. It's not like they just made some generic game, the theme of this game itself is somewhat relavent here. But I think the more interesting part of it is that Russian products are already boycotted but somehow this one feel through the cracks, and no one seems to know exactly why other things are boycotted but this is not. At the end of the day, even if it were free, I wouldn't want Russian software on my PC.
  8. It's not at all the same as tying an American to an American president. The issue is that some of the profits could literally help fund the invasion. If the US invaded a peaceful nation, it would be perfectly reasonable for that nation to ask people not to buy American products.
  9. Maybe a pirated version of this game would be safer than the official version.
  10. Now that I have a 5800X and a 7900XT, I can finally get a smooth 60 FPS in full 4K max settings in this game. After all the trouble I went through to try to get this game to run smoothly, I think ultimately it was just a very ahead of its time game. There are still some rare occasions when the dust picks up a lot that will cause the FPS to dip, but for the most part it's finally smooth. This game was so ahead of its time graphically, with really heavy usage of SVOGI (I think) and basically serves as a pretty effective software RT of sorts. You won't get crisp reflections from it, but you will get amazing lighting effects. This game engine is a derivative of the CryEngine, that Ubisoft bought the rights to use and modify at some point in time. They definitely went hard with the graphics on this one. Just like Crysis, it was always really demanding for a long time after release. It's an underappreciated game, and a rare success story for Ubisoft. That said, there are a lot of fan appreciation videos being made for to this day, and this is a particularly good one that showed me a few things I didn't know even though I'm pretty entrenched into my 4th playthrough on hardcore settings.
  11. Definitely not the only one, mine are just in the form of emulators and roms.
  12. At the end of the day, seems like some of the profits for the game would have to make it back to the Russian state and therefore can be used to fund the invasion so it makes sense to me that Ukraine would basically not want any Russian products to be sold outside of Russia at all. Sort of doubt Microsoft or Sony will respond to this though. Maybe they could offer to buy the devs some plane tickets?
  13. Mod: Releases · sultim-t/xash-rt GITHUB.COM Fork of the Xash3D FWGS with a real-time path tracing - sultim-t/xash-rt Article about mod: Half-Life mod adds real-time ray tracing to Valve's seminal first-person shooter WWW.TECHSPOT.COM This type of stuff is neat, but I'm not sure I'd say it really looks better with RT. Pairing graphics this outdated with RT makes for an interesting tech demo but not a cohesive visual look. Having recently upgraded my GPU and been able to experience more RT titles first hand, I find myself asking... do games even look better with RT at all right now? Most or all of the RT I've seen has just as many visual issues as other rendering methods, the issues are just different. For example, in 2077 with all the RT setting on, all the lighting is laggy. If you see a reflection on a surface from bounce lighting (different than something like a reflection on glass), it's a good full second or so behind the thing it's actually reflecting and to me that is much more noticeable and distracting than other lighting methods, especially in a game with a lot of neon flashing signs causing reflections. I could rant about other RT issues, but I'd never stop. It will of course get better over time, but that also raises the question of what actually looks good in a game. Is it better for a game to try to look as realistic as possible or is it better to have some stylization?
  14. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/ukraine-requests-an-end-to-atomic-heart-sales.html Is this political? Well, no one here voted for or against the war and I think it's too large of an event to completely ignore. That said, please keep any comments clean. Thank you. My opinion on this, I'm a bit torn. On one hand it looks like a great game in a time where it feels like we're in a bit of a game drought, bur on the other hand I think it would be much harder to enjoy the game the way it was intended to be enjoyed now.
  15. I can already see the ad; "Sign up for one year of GeForce Now and unlock an extra 8GB of ram on your RTX6550Ti!"
  16. Please don't use videos like this as news sources in the future. This is considered infotainment, next time the thread will be moved. News posts here should aim to be direct and to the point. Even if the topic here was news-worthy, posting a video does not work for quick and to the point news info. The only times a video is acceptable for news is when it's something that only really works as a video, like a game trailer or a highly detailed video analysis.
  17. For me, everything is trivial compared to Armored Core. Loved those games so much back in the PS2 days, cannot wait to play a new one. Not that there aren't lots of other really good looking titles coming this year. Hellblade looks pretty epic.
  18. Keep track of all titles, or just the more interesting ones? All titles seems like it would be quite a lot.
  19. Just a bump so some of our newer members can see it.
  20. It would be hilarious if they repealed it without replacing it and suddenly all the media outlets profiting from misinformation become criminally liable. Won't happen tho.
  21. Gigabyte RTX 4070 may come with a number of different RAM configurations to choose from (guru3d.com) Given how Vram limited the 4070Ti and really also the 4080 are for their prices, I wonder if this means Nvidia is considering trying to double dip with some other cards and re-release them with more Vram or if they're just going have a repeat of the 3060 12GB. Seems like Nvidia is trying to do what Apple does with storage but for Vram.
  22. Definitely still bugs but it's pretty playable. I only got into it recently so I couldn't tell you how much better it is now. I still have no idea what I'd doing though, total noob.
  23. I tried Elite Dangerous and it made me realize I wanted to play a space sim that allowed me to walk around in and out of my ship, so I got Star Citizen. If you like that type of game I strongly recommend you jump on Star Citizen with a cheap starter ship. So much to do, it's overwhelming.
  24. Oh nice, so high refresh rate then. You playing some competitive FPS or racing games?
  25. Would a server small enough to fit in someone's home really make enough heat to keep up with a hot water heater? Seems like it would lead to a lot of barely warm showers.
