  1. It looks better in Linux. Overclocking is still available in the Linux Nvidia Settings , but I don't have it activated.
  2. I have a better idea, why don't we just stop making everything in China.....and please stop buying cheap chinese knock-offs from Aliexpress.
  3. I'm an electrician, so I explain things as simple as I can.....and people usually like to avoid getting shocked. For me...It isn't to bad. 120V is just a tingle....It's like alcohol....you build up a tolerance. It isn't until you get up to 277V.... then it starts to hurt.
  4. If you don't connect the ground, and something goes wrong, the outer casing could become electrified...that's assuming the terminal is bonded to the case. With the ground connected, a fault would trip your circuit breaker.
  5. I haven't clicked it, but once clicked, I imagine hearing... "Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you"
  6. I bought windows......NO...not MS Windows....real windows....get your mind out of the gutter. What kind of person do you think I am? Me?? Use Windows?? Please!
  7. ARM isn't open source. Third parties pay a license and sign an NDA in order to produce an ARM CPU. ARM doesn't produce anything themselves, they develop the IP and sell licenses. RISC-V is an open source CPU.
  8. We can have a pandemic every year...or at least every election cycle.
  9. Seen plenty of distilled in Walmart. I just recently bought 6 gallons....but I'm using that for a radiator flush in my truck, not my computer.
  10. I have a Prusa MK3S. It's really nice. It's totally open source and from Czech Republic....and I haven't had any problems with Prusa-slicer as PCSarge mentioned. I'll probably buy a Prusa XL with multiple extruders when it's released.
  11. Buy a 3D printer and use it to build a CNC machine. GitHub - RootCNC/Root-3-CNC: Root 3 CNC 3D printed CNC Machine GITHUB.COM Root 3 CNC 3D printed CNC Machine . Contribute to RootCNC/Root-3-CNC development by creating an account on GitHub.
  12. This might be the best it's going to get for a while to buy a home. Interest rates are going to rise in an attempt to slow down the rate of inflation. I bought my house during the last housing boom in 2005. At the time, I paid an inflated price, but I'm better off now than if I hadn't. Renting a 1 bedroom apartment is more than the mortgage for my 4 bedroom house.
  13. Doesn't make sense for Google to develop their own. Proton is WINE with Valves own patches that often get upstreamed into WINE. It would be better for everyone if they would contribute to the WINE project.
  14. You should be doing the looking. Go to Realtor.com enter your price range, area's you want to live. When you find one you like, tell your Realtor and she'll arrange a time to see it.
  15. Get advice from your Realtor. Your Realtor will setup a home inspection if you decide to buy it. But that seems really cheap, where I am the land alone would be worth more than the $221k. HUD's Pre-Foreclosure Sales Program - Zillow WWW.ZILLOW.COM For homeowners with FHA-backed loans, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's short sale program can provide a...
  16. Bundle for Ukraine by Necrosoft Games and 732 others ITCH.IO Bundle for Ukraine: 991 items for $10.00
  17. China is hoping Russia shows support when China invades Taiwan later this year or next year. China has been flying into Taiwan airspace on a regular basis. They flew 9 fighter jets into Taiwan airspace the same day Russia invaded Ukraine. After what happened in Afghanistan earlier this year and how the world is sitting around watching Ukraine be invaded, the invasion of Taiwan is more likely by the day. If China takes Taiwan, imagine the IP that can be stolen once TSMC is under government control.
  18. Well actually the US and the UK aren't holding up their end of the Budapest agreement. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine had the worlds third largest stockpile of nuclear weapons. In 1994 Ukraine agreed to give up their nukes for security assurances that aren't being provided. Also Ukraine is a sovereign country, they should be able to join whatever organization they wish. They have been trying to join NATO since the 1990's but they've had leaders at varies times, aligned with Russia, that were against it, so it's been a long process.
  19. Not really price gouging when the market price for oil is $115 a barrel. Throughout 2019 oil hovered between $50 to $60. Releasing oil reserves is just "doing something" so you can say you're "doing something". Drilling actually does something, but the US chooses to artificially reduce the worlds supply of oil and natural gas which fuels the current situation.....Massive inflation and Russia's war. The administration calls it "transitioning away from fossil fuels" which is fine and dandy if every car lot was filled with new and used electric vehicles...but they're not. With the chip shortage, the lots aren't filled with gas vehicles either. We shouldn't be buying Putin's oil. Putin doesn't plan on stopping after Ukraine. His goal is to unify the former Soviet states into Russia. Crimea was first to be invaded in 2014. He's also made the same speech about the Baltic States that he made about Ukraine. The Baltic States are members of NATO, so either NATO sits back and watches more countries get invaded or it's the beginning of WW3. We won't have to worry about scalpers buying up all the GPU's anymore.
  20. The one thing that hasn't stopped, the importing of Oil and Natural Gas from Russia by the US and Europe. That's what funds the war. It could stop if Germany ends the process of shutting down it's last 3 nuclear power plants to end it's dependence on Russian natural gas for electricity production, and if the US reverses it's decision to place a moratorium on oil and natural gas drilling leases. In 2019 the US became a net exporter of energy for the first time since 1949, now our oil imports from Russia are at it's highest point in 20 years. The US could provide Europe with it's needed oil and natural gas and end it's dependence on Russia. We are on the verge of Battlefield 2042 becoming a reality...just 20 years earlier.
  21. I think Nvidia has hit a wall. They can't increase performance without also increasing power consumption. They've become old AMD. We need Maxwell again.....Performance increased while power consumption went down. With the way energy prices are right now, this isn't the best time to release a power hog.
