  1. Thanks for those, that does help. I'll have to take a look when I get home from work today.
  2. Well I think E has an Asrock, not an ASUS board, so I imagine there's ways to do it outside of ASUS specific menus that are dubious in effectiveness from one board to another.
  3. Part of me likes this, but the other part of me says at $999 this is just raising the price of that bracket (given its competition being the overpriced 4080). Last gen the 3080 and its competitor, the 6800 XT was closer to the $700 mark (MSRP anyway). I don't know, would have liked to see this card cheaper frankly, but from a business standpoint I get why they didn't. AMD still makes themselves look like the hero given its not $1200. Forget the naming for a sec, this card feels more like a 6800 XT successor than a 6900/6950 XT successor given it more across the board competes with the 4080 vs the 4090 (some caveats).
  4. Man I avoid Extreme Tweaker menu like the plague. I'll see if I can find the equivalent in AMD Overclocking.
  5. Dang. There's no way my 5900X can even sustain 4.6GHz all-core with that low of voltage. But maybe I should try separate CCD OC's like you did. How did you go about doing that?
  6. Its a Path Tracing/Ray Tracing DLSS3 demo for 40-series at best. I keep seeing people call it "the new Crysis", but I mean Crysis was a new game when it came out. Portal on the other hand is a game from 2007. Cool...you made it look pretty Nvidia.
  7. This...buyer will click the button to buy from the ad and follow the steps to pay which will send you a notification that the items have been bought and payed for and you should ship. Site takes 2%, and the rest is held which you can either keep for purchasing things/memberships on the site, or else take a disbursement if you just want the money sent to your PayPal or whathaveyou. Don't handle the PayPal in PM's. Buyer just follows the steps from the advert. I know it seems like its a hassle to get the adverts up, but it really does work pretty well.
  8. Very nice. That's an XL isn't it? I might have to mount my fans on the outside of the panel instead of inside on mine. Will have to see about clearance.
  9. Hate I have to buy this to fix this case, but got this on my wishlist for the new year. Take note Lien Li, you should really offer this an option by default. How have you been liking yours @Avacado ? Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic Custom Modded Replacement Front Panel O11-FRONTPANEL WWW.PERFORMANCE-PCS.COM Did you get that sweet new Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic rig built? Yeah? All the air chased out of the loop so it's whisper-quiet? Started playing your game at 4K res only to realize the system's now overheating...
  10. Yeah I was just asking if one knew about how these things undervolted. Just had to reply with "No" and that would have been that. So my 12-pin adapter for my 3080 Ti adapts two 8-pins. Most 4090's adapt 3 or 4 8-pins to the 16-pin +12VHPWR connector. Now if you are just talking about newer power supplies that natively support the 12VHPWR 16-pin, I think you are right, it's one or two connections directly from the PSU to it. But if you are going to be using an adapter or custom cable adapter for a 4090, you will definitely need 3 or 4 8-pin PCIe plugs available.
  11. Welp, guess I am hotboxing my bedroom then to get one.
  12. I was more speaking to the fact that these cases are extremely prevalent in the PC community. So much so I am somewhat disappointed I have one now, but that's made up for the fact it meets my needs, aside from the front panel which I will fix at some point. Anyway I agree with @Fluxmaven, though being the basic b**** that I am, I have a case everyone and their mother seems to have. @Avacado knows what I am talking about .
  13. Where ya been, these Lian Li cases are everywhere. Part of me hates I have one because of that, but I can't help it, I really like the case aside from the 2 deficiencies I mentioned. I'd just say Lian Li really should offer an option to get them with proper vented front panels (with fan mounts) instead of the tempered glass panel so you can have a more traditional front intake. As it is, I am planning to get a custom front panel from PPCs in the future. You are now seeing some weird derivatives of the O11-D design like the Hyte Y60. I think some Corsair cases have experimented with the side intakes too. I personally think the side intake is dumb, but what can I say, the case meets the rest of my needs/wants.
  14. It fixed all my complaints I had with my old Corsair Air 540 with the dual chamber design, compatibility with bigger radiators, and better thought out designs for things like where to mount hard drives and/or SSD's which seemed tacked on with the 540. Of course hard drives are now phased out of my build and have a couple nvme drives now. Add to that, I can be totally lazy with cable management in the rear of the case, and I like the PSU and such being out of the way. I don't know why, I just really like the dual chamber cases now that are side to side dual chamber vs say top and bottom dual chambers like a H510 or similar.
  15. Entirely possible for me. My case evolution was: Many beige 90's cases -> Cheap generic case from 2006 -> Cheap generic case in 2009 -> Cooler Master CM690 II -> Corsair 650D -> NZXT Switch 810 -> Corsair Air 540 -> Lian Li O11-D Starting with the 540, I really started liking dual chamber cases. The O11-D fixed all of my complaints with the 540, however there are 2 big things I don't like about it - the front panel being glass (fixable, but more $$$), and the width of the case. I don't know if there is a $50 case that is of a dual chamber design with the feature set and open loop watercooling compatibility, but if there is, that's impressive.
  16. Possibly. I'd also expect fewer (or none) sharp edges, panels shouldn't feel flimsy, screws of good quality, screw holes not feeling like they might strip easily, etc. I'd also expect better thought out designs for the little things in building whether its cable management, front panel, etc. EDIT: This isn't to say you don't have quality in the price range quoted. I'm just saying for more $$$ I'd also expect more in quality of materials and thoughtful design choices.
  17. Would mostly just expect a higher material/build quality. And then there is the factor of non-standard cases (dual chamber designs, open frame, etc.)
  18. Sad. I always thought you had a pretty unique rig and I liked that.
  19. Oh I can think of older ones from the 90s, I just have no idea what they were called.
  20. Oh absolutely that's a gain in performance per watt. Not saying otherwise. Oh I know this related back to power connections, but I feel my question is relevant as you mentioned 600W transients, etc. So if one was going to try to run one of these on a 10 year old 1kW PSU, I feel an undervolting question is relevant. If that's not something you have experimented with, then that's that. I was only asking if you knew. I then made the point about heat generation because its something I notice with my 3080 Ti at 350W, so I was curious about the 4090 at 450W.
  21. Right, I was just curious if anyone has experimented with undervolting to get less watts/heat overall and what the results were. If not, no worries. I am going to see if I can learn how to undervolt my 3080 Ti and see what results are in both performance and heat generation. If done right, its my understanding you can often see same performance or very minimally lower performance for much lower heat.
  22. Well its a water-cooled 3080 Ti, so any heat it generates is dumped out of the case. And its excessive heat in the summer. Even in winter this acts as a space heater truly.
  23. Right exactly. During a gaming session, the heat being poured out of my rig is insane. Since the 4090 is more efficient when compared to 30-series, but not necessarily set to the most efficient part of the curve stock, I just wondered if you can undervolt slightly to get lower heat output and only minimally impacted performance. Frankly I hope 50-series Nvidia figures out a way to also become more efficient in how much total power they are having to use. This 350-450W frankly sucks in the summer.
  24. Oh yeah. Not surprising though. All one had to do was look at how they shifted chip tiers again where suddenly the 2070 was on the x06 die instead of x04 like it had been since Kepler. That made it more like a 2060 really (and we see that as the truth with the 2060 Super functionally being a 2070). Once AMD released anything slightly competitive with it, it had to be replaced with a TU104 based card which everyone knows is what the 2070 should have been to begin with. 20-series was atrocious in how little Nvidia wanted to give for the $$$ at launch.
