  1. ^ That's really cool. Yeah I'd be in for a t-shirt and stickers for sure. A mug too maybe.
  2. Man you got that right. I only sometimes go in there to provide good advice to a post where all the inexperienced "beauty over function" haven't chimed in yet. I even get people that agree sometimes in the replies. But for the most part, that place is a cesspit where all that's really going on is a bunch of e-peen chasing and "look how pretty it is" over real water cooling.
  3. I bet for gaming these probably undervolt pretty well? I gotta say sometimes this 3080 Ti with its 350W really is dumping out way too much heat.
  4. Wife's PC needed some more storage. Seemed good on price/specs: Inland Performance 2TB 3D TLC NAND PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe M.2 Internal SSD - Micro Center WWW.MICROCENTER.COM Get it now! 5. Haven't looked at the $50 case market recently, but we had a good time building a rig earlier this year in an H510 Flow case I picked up at Micro Center for I want to say $90. Could have used more front panel I/O, but the designed was overall good and I was impressed with the cable management and overall layout. Was a breeze to build in.
  6. Yep you are absolutely right. I've only ever criticized how people use their cases. Most perfect example is all the O11-Dynamic based builds you see on r/watercooling and they really don't know how to set it up correctly and then wonder why they have a hot box.
  7. Well historical release was just different. They came out with the 4090 first, that's the flagship. At this stage the 4080 is an overpriced mid-tier chip based card which will likely get replaced with a cutdown AD102 based card as the Ti variant. At least that's my prediction. AD102 cut down slightly from 4090 and likely to be 320-bit 20GB. Historically they usually launched the 80-card first and then later brought the 80 Ti, and it was usually of similar price or maybe marginally more expensive and then the 80 card would have a price drop, until the 20-series changed things. GTX 780 launch price: $649, GTX 780 Ti launch price: $699 GTX 980 launch price: $549, GTX 980 Ti launch price: $649 GTX 1080 launch price: $599 ($699 FE), GTX 1080 Ti launch price: $699 With the 20-series launch, they announced the 2080 Ti right along with the 2080 and 2070 right from the start. 30-series comes along and they instead have the 3090 and the 3080/3070. 40-series, they functionally announced the same thing (just with the two 4080's debacle), the only difference was that there was no pretending the 4080 was a "flagship" this time.
  8. Yeah, not disagreeing. As long as you have proper static pressure (and power) then should be fine for airflow purposes.
  9. I think classic cases and I think of things like the Antec 300/900. Good times. But we've definitely moved past the era where stacks of hard drives/cages block the main air intakes. I guess now that's been replaced by radiators for many, but still you get my drift.
  10. Yeah I'd imagine similar to when Ryzen first came out. I'll be interested to see how that plays out starting with RDNA3 and its multi-chip design.
  11. Hmm, interesting. Fast forward less than 2 months later: Hey Nvidia...
  12. I called this right before the 4080 release. Scalpers would buy, not be able to sell, and try to return them. EDIT: And what's funny is these aren't even worth MSRP. Depending on brand, these would be second-hand at this point and warranty non-transferable.
  13. Nice! I have CP2077, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet (hasn't even been launched yet). I still need to pick up FS2020. Last Flight Simulator I had was FS2000 and then FSX lol. Been a very long time since I've played Flight Sim. I imagine my performance will be similar to your 3090 except for 12GB vs 24GB if that matters for either title.
  14. Wow, I haven't had to deal with any of that sort of nonsense before. My last accident was caught on traffic cam (cameras over the lights on a major intersection), but now thinking I should get a dash cam one of these days that points front and back. That last accident was me turning left on a major intersection (my green arrow light, 2 turning lanes, I was on the inner lane) and a car came barreling through the street I was turning into, clipped the rear corner of my car and kept going through the intersection. It was snowing, so yet again a car with bad tires on. I had my snow tires on so had I not had a slow poke SUV in front of me also turning, I could have sped up just slightly to avoid the hit. Oh well. They kept sliding through the intersection, kept going and hit 2 more cars on the next intersection over. I reported it as a hit and run. So when police pulled the footage I got extremely lucky as they knew who hit me as she got stopped at the next intersection over. She hit 3 cars that night. The only time I had a totally FUBAR experience was when both myself and the teenager who rear ended my car (bald tires again, like metal belts showing bald and wet road), had the same exact insurance company. They kept fighting me and I was like, hey I am your customer too, idiots. Then called my agent and said hey, you guys are screwing me over and he promptly dealt with it and everything got fixed.
  15. I was more curious the ratio of games that could natively do 4k120 without DLSS (vs 30-series) to those like CP2077 and Flight Simulator that are crazy demanding titles.
  16. Might hit a rock. People like to do that here all the time. Drivers can't stop running over this rock by the Colorado Mills Target WWW.9NEWS.COM According to Reddit, people can't stop hitting a giant rock in a parking lot by the Colorado Mills Target.
  17. I noticed this too with the Dark Hero board. I think it was $420ish when I got it, then saw it hit $450 and then $500. Looks like its coming down a bit in some places (Newegg and Micro Center shows $449).
  18. That's not surprising depending on where you were looking. I go to Newegg or something and look for a new, old product and the pricing is outrageous. Same with Amazon.
  19. $719 for a 3070 in 2022...what is EVGA smoking? Yeah this was my other point. The top end raising in price as a "halo" product has brought up the whole stack with it.
  20. Too bad they don't sell in NA market (as far as I know, Canadians can correct me if wrong). With EVGA out, no more Classified cards for the foreseeable future.
  21. Did you get banned on that other site again, I saw that "Banned" tag under your name. It varies state by state down here. So one might have a law where the left turn driver is automatically at fault while others don't.
  22. Yeah I have comments about 2 SM's still being locked on an $7350 product LOL. EDIT: And see, didn't I say an actual Titan would have 48GB by now? And here's this with 48GB. Not saying this is a Titan, but sort of helps my point about that "dual space" and the fact VRAM has stagnated in GeForce products except for 90 cards. But even 90 cards have not been increasing in VRAM relative to how Titans were gen on gen previously.
  23. If the car crumpled up yet she is relatively ok, then it did its job. Glad she is doing ok.
  24. How have you liked DLSS3 so far? Are you finding you need it for the more demanding titles to get that 4k120 experience while other games can do it without DLSS?
  25. I get what you are saying and if I harp on it too much then I apologize. I am in no way trying to make anyone here uncomfortable or feel like I am attacking them, so if it's come across that way, I apologize. Put pricing aside, my larger point is how things have shifted. An 80 class card today and how it relates to it's gen is completely different from what an 80 class card was and how it related to it's gen say in Fermi. What we call a Titan or a 90 Ti these days was just called a GTX 580 back then and that's the element I feel is lost in a broader pricing discussion in the PC gaming community at large.
