  1. Did both my oil change and did a slightly overdue transmission fluid drain and fill today. Managed to get 4 quarts drained from the transmission. Happened to buy 4 quarts since I usually get around 3.5-3.7 quarts drained, so good thing it didn't drain more than that lol.
  2. Oh wow, thank you very much! Likewise was not expecting to win anything, but had a lot of fun, and definitely look forward to the Country Cup.
  3. Very interesting. It seems literally everything except power supplies is getting hotter and more power hungry these days.
  4. What's the difference between the two sections on this form? This one is $225? EDIT: Looking at this more, it looks like the design you choose is $25, but the printing service itself is still $225.
  5. M105 and M205 is exactly what I have, but right now just using a cheap DA I got at Harbor Freight. I might upgrade one day, but its good enough for my use as a casual for now.
  6. I'm actually kinda surprised we haven't seen egg cooking memes with 3090's like we did with GTX 480's back in the day with Nvidia "Thermi". By comparison the GTX 480 seems downright power efficient .
  7. For a fan controller, I like the Aquacomputer Octo. Add a flow meter like a Highflow of some sort and then you can use Aquasuite to create some pretty nifty fan curves based on different data points like coolant temps or what not.
  8. I usually use Meguiar's as well, but was just curious. I am going to use some Iron remover spray on the next wash and then clay bar the car as well before I follow it up with a compound and polish. What do you like to finish with? Just wax, or something else. I was using this Turtle Wax Seal n Shine and it worked pretty well, was then curious if layering some wax on top of it is a good idea or not.
  9. This is the wrong way to go in my opinion and I hope that power hungry trend doesn't continue. My 3080 Ti already acts as a space heater during a gaming session. It's extremely noticeable and uncomfortable in the summer.
  10. Reminds me I need to get the ol' DA polisher out and once again attempt to paint correct. My paint is pretty bad. Black car. Found some etched spots and not sure what that's from, I am usually good at catching that stuff. Any recommendations for compound and polish?
  11. Meh...they should fix their platform. That's highly discouraging.
  12. Hmm...they are not counting my better submission in the DDR4 SuperPI 32M comp? They still show my 7 min 21 sec sub but I did a 7 min 8 sec sub. Actually might have even had a slightly better sub then this, I don't recall. I remember it was not syncing with my profile.
  13. I like your new tag line.
  14. You gotta post some pics or videos if you do.
  15. Wow, you sprung for a 4090 eh? Really impressive clock for air. I wonder what you can get out of it with waterblock. I heard unlike the 30-series which was power limited that these cards are more voltage limited.
  16. Desk and rig is in the bedroom, so really when I get a place that can have a dedicated office is when a test bench will happen.
  17. I don't have a place to put a test bench really, but it is definitely one of the first things I am getting when I do.
  18. This was a lot of fun and really for a small group I'd say we did pretty well. Was very limited on what I could participate in, but hoping I can get more involved in the future.
  19. Well when I get a dedicated space for the rig, I'll be joining you guys folding. As its in a bedroom now, its too much heat running that 3080 Ti even for a gaming session (I can't imagine the 4090). So will just cheer you guys on for now.
  20. And part of it is I am just sick of the Nvidia pricing schemes. Dropping the facade of the 90-class GPUs being "Titans" (they aren't), it means that the flagship gaming GPU's have done this in a very short time: 2015: GTX 980 Ti - $649 2016: GTX 1080 Ti - $699 2018: RTX 2080 Ti - technically $999, but really it was $1200 2020: RTX 3090 - $1499 2022: RTX 3090 Ti - $1999 2022: RTX 4090 - $1599 202x: RTX 4090 Ti: $????
  21. Yeah drivers will come with time. Hopefully they keep at it. I know this teardown reaction is a bit over the top, but really that does look like a pain in the butt to teardown.
  22. One of these days I want to go back to a Radeon card. I was always more a Team Red guy back in the ATI days. 7500 -> 9700 Pro -> X1650 Pro -> 5770 and then picked up a second one later for CFX. I would like to see a modern Radeon card one of these days. The 5770's were the last one's I had.
