  1. I was never a fan of the original 2070. Nvidia tiered it down to the 60-class chip (TU-106) instead of the same chip class as the 2080, yet at the same time making it the most expensive 70-class card ever (at that point). That said, seems to be a solid performer.
  2. Here's mine. This was with a +120 to core and +1000 to mem on the 3080 Ti with power limit set to 114%. Saw it hit as high as 2.08GHz, but would drop periodically during the run.
  3. Vista's problem was that they slapped all these "ready for Vista" stickers on machines that really were not capable of running it. Hence the bad rap it got. Otherwise it was basically version 1.0 of Windows 7 and was just fine. I agree it looked great.
  4. +1 SSD's never seemed to play nice with sleep/hibernate.
  5. I've also heard that some of these chunky big cables can stress the connection/port sometimes depending on how it's sitting.
  6. Ah, looks interesting. Have fun! I've got an EVGA GTX 570 HD, maybe I'll keep this around for when I eventually get a house and can have a proper workshop area and do weird builds. Kinda reminds me of my wife's Switch. She got some controllers to replace the stock ones on the side and now it handles more like a controller.
  7. Hell yeah, looking good Pio. The builds we had in the house growing up at the time were definitely far messier cable wise, by comparison this looks pretty damn good to me.
  8. Sorry, didn't know anyone was looking. What's the competition?
  9. Yeah this is the first thing I thought of as well. There are other problems if I spike that much power.
  10. Pretty much where I'm at. 4790k and 980 suited me fine until I upgraded monitors. Did older stuff ok at 1440p, less so newer games. Now with the 4k definitely happy with current setup and I assume will be for a nice long time.
  11. Such an odd gremlin. Hopefully all goes well with the RMA. So I was looking at my local Micro Center the other day and did you know they are still getting in new stock of Zen 2 parts? I had to laugh though as their 3900X was the same price as their 5900X, so not really sure what they are doing.
  12. Exactly. Of course the drivers are going to suck first go around. Hope they keep at it.
  13. Well I was mostly referring to stocks. Anytime they put out articles to buy buy buy its usually to pump it so the smart folks can sell. As for your cards, man that is some rough luck, sorry to hear that. What did you replace them with?
  14. Agreed. Alder Lake turned out to be very competitive, so Raptor Lake vs Zen 4 will probably likewise be a nice matchup.
  15. These new CPU's look like they'll be fun to clean thermal paste off of.
  16. Basically any article saying now is the time to buy, is actually the time to sell.
  17. This sounds like a job for Ambassador Pineapple.
  18. Oh I just meant at home for personal use, I'm one of those weirdos who never uses a laptop. I didn't mean anything more than that. Agree, should be able to get a nice profit flipping those. Interested to hear how it turns out.
  19. This is the one that always gets me
  20. I had a Brit for a boss at that aforementioned horrible job. He was actually a fantastic boss until office politics and empire building by horrible people fired him. Anyway, he was great. I could throw 10 f-bombs to tell him how dev was screwing us on something and it didn't phase him. Throw one "bloody dev is bloody effing this bloody code up, etc." in the sentence and suddenly he's like "whoa, whoa, whoa".
  21. Good luck on it. Hope you have a successful experiment. Its weird, I guess aside from my work laptop (Macbook Pro that I hate), I never use a laptop personally. I always think, wait a sec, I got a way better desktop in the other room.
