  1. I'd like to see Far Cry 5 @ 4k ultra w/ HD textures.. So far that game has been a pretty good overall performance indicator for me (as long as CPU bottlenecks are avoided) Aida64 GPGPU benchmark too
  2. Why was I hoping a friend of E's joining the forum would have a Psycho Mantis or Gray Fox avatar ...I should have made my name Psycho Mantis hehehehehe, avatar a picture of the controller 2 port on a playstation Welcome aboard sgt_swanny
  3. I'm sure I could just touch whatever dad is working on and blow myself clean across his garage for video science just not sure I'd survive so we'll avoid that maybe i'll just touch a 9v battery to my tongue like we used to do when we were kids ban
  4. Dang, guess I owe you a self shock video ahahaha This means WW2 is ancient.. If you were even born during the war you'd be on the wrong side of your 70s now. not sure about any annual plans, grandma just smoked pall malls and whacked me with towels when I misbehaved ban
  5. That depends. Some senior discounts start at 50-55. I think 55 is kid stuff. If you're 62 I'll send you a card. If you're 65 I'll shock myself and send you a video. 85 and I'll record myself giving people the middle finger in public and seeing how they react ban
  6. What's old Janco? Dad's birthday was yesterday. He's old too. At least, older than he was on the 13th hehehe. His tattoos are fading. 60? 65? 200? ban
  7. IIRC steam is taking 30% as well.. guess that's just the "standard" fare these days. I can understand a little finders fee and fee for hosting the app but 30% does seem ludicrous to me. New age extortion.. if you want your business on our block, you gotta pay up big! Looks like people are willing to pay though, so....
  8. I was tired and in a bad mood last night. I even harshly criticized another person on the internet. Can you believe dat! Ban
  9. Wow that flight sim 2020 video is just mind bending lol.... I still play IL-2 Sturmovik as kind of my go to "flight sim"... time for an upgrade...
  10. OOooo never noticed this thread.. I just buried my Corsair Strafe RGB (MX Blues) recently so I have a HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (cherry mx blue) on it's way.. I also have a "brand new" IBM Model M ps/2 circa 1991 and a Dell AT101W w/ complex alps.... Have been eyeing the Glorious GMMK for a long time now but haven't found the opportunity to get one yet.. maybe later this year will get pics when the hyperx arrives..
  11. Man wouldn't it be awesome to have your own personal cockpit, .. @iamjanco would be perfect for designing and building such a thing, LCDs for the windshields as well as cockpit displays.. just think of all the knobs and switches and use cases for gigantic shunt resistors. I'd become a professional digital pilot in no time if I could play in such a thing
  12. Psh, flight sim 2020 flight schmim. You're a retro junkie now. Where I come from, we play Wing Commander. !!!! Hehehe M DISCS are supposed to last 1000 years, be sure to burn your memoirs and bury it for some future person to find, include plenty of pictures of our modern stone age computers (and a plain text explanation to read the data in your picture format of choice ((and a hard copy explaining binary to ascii encoding)) in case of nuclear war)
  13. Let it be known that men who know how to properly cool their vrm/memory/chipset using the above method will increase their dating potential by approximately 60000% I've been using this method myself (also using black chassis + white fan blades, you sly devil) for a while now, had to start deadbolting my computer room to keep the crazed idols away. looks really nice
  14. It's a good thing pook never says anything nice, if he did I believe the entire internet would go into severe atrial fibrillation out of shock rude boy dang rude boy is a nice name though, he was in Road Rash on the Sega Genesis back in the day when I was just a little 486 ban
  15. Oh nice, I see it has a pretty substantial amount of glycol in it.. so that's probably the "secret sauce" they use in the AIOs in the first place allowing for mixed metals to survive the warranty period. I want to follow your lead and try refilling the h100, hopefully it's the same and I can drain flush and refill all through the block. I'm confident it's gummed up and under-performing but the pump is still chugging along... Can't find where to buy the coolant so it comes with the nice bottle https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-cl-w021-os00bu-a-coolant/p/N82E16835106271 looks right but no longer stocked. Was there a significant drop in temps relative to temps before you flushed your AIO out? I don't think you mentioned before temps.
  16. I call it "collectornomics", should be a freshman economics course. day 1 price is high, opinion is high. 10 years later price is worthless, opinion is that item is garbage, in the garbage item goes. 30 years later price is high, nostalgia is high. It's almost quadratic yo ban
  17. The retro bug is consuming you!! Sick build and good story with the AIO. I think I may tempt fate and try to clean and re-fill an h100 following your method.. My h100 is around the same age and struggles to keep a 45nm LGA775 CPU cool at 1.4V. It's definitely not performing as it did when it was new anymore.. Just haven't really been brave enough to refill it. Did you remove the rubber tubes and re-attach them or was the drain and refill all done through the block? Temps look great for any AIO with that kind of OC.. Love the black & white scheme.. can barely recognize the system at all without the orange.
  18. I definitely have 486 66mhz poisoning. Have had that computer for about 26 years now. The case is even older, ca. 1989. It was originally a little business machine with a 386SX , barely any faster than a 286, but don't tell anyone ban
  19. I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hara-kiri rock. I need scissors 61 ban
  20. Them feels when J7SCs retro machine giggles at my main PC hehehehehe though, in light of recent happenings, I grimaced when I saw the lack of backplates on those 980 Classys.. I can't believe they didn't include backplates on such a high end beast. Ergh!
  21. Speak of the devil himself. I broke out the CECHE-01 MG metal gear PS3 to mess around with and it has yellow lighted.. and to make matters worse, it was so brittle from heat and age that I managed to completely break off the front panel ribbon connector (power on / off / eject) by barely touching it.. That's the end of that sucker, it's had a nice life but it's got so many failure points that it's just not worth touching anymore. I always wanted to gut it out of the ps3 chassis and put it in an ATX case with some big fans on it to make it last longer, but never got around to it. Here's a funny one -- I can sell the Blu Ray drive + power supply for the model E01 on ebay for more than enough money to buy a PS3 slim.. LOL I have a few CECHEL01 phats but I'm going to try to get one of the later 45/40nm slims for the long haul, before they end up becoming collectors items. I don't like the super slims either. sigh
  22. Ah yes, I see the live link section added to the secret club... will check back on that when it's back up ban postscripts
  23. If adapters are the case then fine, no big deal to me, as long as it's a nice sleeved adapter... It would give us some kind of bridge for a few years before everybody is running power supplies with 12 pin connectors. I'm sure in 2020 every company would be aware that we would also expect said adapter to be nicely sleeved. Imagine dropping 1500 bucks on a high end card that comes with an ugly red / white set of wires with a clear plastic connector, now that would be funny.
